You know you’re embracing adulthood when you stop watching that much meme/funny videos, and start watching more grooming videos, like this one. This is just gold, man. Fortunately my hair grows thick and full, though I like it better how I look bald, will give the conditioner shaving a try, my regards from México 🇲🇽
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Briggs Gibson thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I just finished shaving my head for the first after watching this video. No cuts, no razor burn and I didn’t even miss anything. Great advice! Thanks so much! Just wished I decided to go all bald earlier. Love it👍
Shaving my head for the first time tomorrow I have been using Remington skull shaver since Christmas but finally decided to go to the final stage, bought bottle of quality conditioner today so all set. Thanks Greg for the advice.
Forgot to mention Greg I am in the UK so your advice goes Worldwide. I have been able to get the conditioner make that you recommend in a local supermarket.
I really can’t thank you enough. No razor burns, no cuts, not even bumps any more. Thank you so much for the conditioner advice, I really appreciate it.
i got the same hairline, just started shaving my head few weeks ago.. i love it now ! took a few days to get used to it.. but yes...women find it very attractive
I would suggest to put a plug in the sink and fill it a little with hot water and then use an old toothbrush to clean in-between the shaving strokes. This saves on water wastage.
Mate I’ve try the conditioner as you mentioned it’s was just WOW no more bloody razer burn or cuts love It . I just want to say keep the good work and big thanks for the tips.
I have been wanting to completely shave my head for a long time & watched your video & finally done it. I followed how you do it & didn't cut myself or get razor burn! It feels awesome!! Thank you Greg for a great how to video!
I am 23 and have recently started shaving my head with a razor. I was balding pretty badly and just got really annoyed with it. This was very helpful man. I used conditioner the other day and although I didn't go against the grain, I got a very good looking shave out of it. Thank you!!
I'm a head shaver myself. I began shaving my head when I went bald back about 8 years ago and it's made things easier. I enjoy it personally and I, like you, get a lot of questions about doing it and a lot of people are surprised that I shave my head. They can't believe I just use a razor.
Same here. I recently started shaving my head and my family is just like “wtf why, but yeah it does look really good lol” But they can’t understand why a 24 year old guy who can grow a full head of hair shaves it. It’s just so freeing and the best feeling in the world. I have more confidence when I’m bald because I just look more badass lol. Now I just need to work on my patchy beard and pray to the beard gods that my genetics start shifting for the more hairy side of things lol.
I’ve been contemplating shaving my head for the last couple of weeks, I’m losing my hair from chemo and woke up this morning with a bunch of tiny hairs covering my pillow and finally decided to just get it over with haha. I was pretty scared of cutting the shit out of myself though, I shaved it once when I was younger for shits and giggles and I pretty well mangled the shit out of my head, but then I watched this video and realized why. Thanks for the video! I’ll be trying this today, hopefully with much better results!
Great video, thx a lot. I just shaved my head for the first time. I was very insecure if I should do it. After i was done I felt amazing! I had really long hair, and I am not losing any, but I just wanted to change my style and see how it feels. To be honest, I dont know if I should let grow my hair ever again. This was one of my best decisions in 2020 ;).
I am using double edge safety razor it will take some time don't very about time lets enjoy saving I used gillete skin gard it will give some head shaves only again I started double edge safety razor it will give every save so closer only experience man can save double edge safety razor Tq
I am so glad that I found this video I shave my head bald two weeks ago and ended up with a really bad razor burn my head was swollen in the front . I had to nurse it back to health finally I was able to use the Clippers on it this morning. I am definitely going to follow your tips on your video thank you very much
Hey Greg, this video and your technique has completely restored my faith in wet shaving my head. I have been shaving my head for a year, I have quite sensitive skin and was almost going to give it up and settle with a buzz cut but since trying out your technique the results have been amazing with no irritation. So thanks for that, keep up the good work 👍
OMG Dude, I was skeptical as I just started shaving my head regularly last year and still had a problem with shaving, This worked so easy and so quick I couldn't believe it. This is great. I did have one cut but that's okay I was able to get it smooth in about 15-20 minutes out of the shower so I think in the shower that might go quicker. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
The cutting stopped for me once I started holding the blade instead of the handle. It's so much easier to avoid cuts when you can feel the head moving.
Yes sir. Gotta love being a bald man. I haven't gone razor short yet, been using the clippers unguarded for over 20 years. After this cup of coffee I'm raiding my wife's conditioner. Wish me luck 😁
This is an awesome video. Thank you. I have wanted to shave my head for years for the reason you describe--I hate my front hairline. I am not balding but have had a prominent widow's peak all my life--it may be slightly more prominent as I've gotten older but not at all balding. I've had the front lined up a few times and like that look better but within a day or so it's growing back and looks dumb. Most of the men I know who shave are encouraging but just say, "it's easy....just do it." Your instructions are very good. I agree with you that most men look great with a shaved head--I like bald heads much more than hair on most men. I never knew, though, that a man who is not balding naturally can achieve as close a shave as you do. It's perfectly slick. And, by the way, your beard is awesome and looks perfect with the bald head.
RJ Carter Hey RJ, thanks for watching my video! If you decide to go through with shaving your head, let me know. Be prepared, it will take a week, maybe, for the color of your head to catch up with your face. I probably should have spoken about that. Here's another piece of advice - initially, people may be shocked that you did it and, because they don't know how to react (or be an adult), they may laugh at first. Do what I did - laugh with them. It shuts them down real quick when you mirror them. Good luck and thanks for the compliments! 👍
I’m kinda the same as you. I’ve always had a high hairline and very fine hair. I vowed to myself that if I started balding I’d shave my head. And that I did. I could probably still have a 90% head of hair, but the bald spot would shit me to tears. I’ve had a buzz cut or shaved head for 10 years now. Saved a fortune on haircuts and products. Sure, Asians might cross the street occasionally, but I’m not a skinhead 😂 I use a shave gel from a brand called Milkman. It’s nice and thin and makes the razor glide well. Thanks for the vids.

I recently, like three days ago, shaved bald and was so nervous my hands were literally shaking when I held the clippers. I get tattoos without batting an eye, but for some reason the idea of shaving my head was terrifying. Anyway, I did it because I also hated my receding hairline, and I instantly loved it shaved in a way I had never liked getting a haircut. Anyway, even if my head isn't perfectly rounded(and who's really staring at my head long enough to notice anyway besides me and my spouse) I feel way more confident with it shaved than trying to style hair that I honestly didn't like at all anyway. Thanks for this video, it was very informative .
Great tips. I took the plunge tonight and your advice was great to hear for a first time bald shave. Everything went smooth till my wife and daughter laughed afterwards.
Thank you. I'm going to do it for the first time in a few minutes. Clear steps. Edited: I followed your suggestions and style. Yeah, I bled a little bit, and I went going in thinking "I'll look horrible." Blood and awsome. Thanks
I really appreciate this video man, I think I need to shave my head sooner or later and the thought of it is stressful AF. My wife was asking if I can try it I've cut my hair super short but saving just feels crazy. I'm gonna have to go for it lol.
Wow, great video and for me a learning experience. I’ve been shaving my head the last two weeks and was doing it wrong. I didn’t know about conditioner and I always assumed hair grew backwards. Thank you for helping me
Awesome video! I’m a women but I love having my head shaved and after shaving with just a regular machine I’m really interrelated I’m giving it a go with razors, I feel this video has given me a lot of really good help on the way to becoming smooth and not hurt in the process.
Greg Boswell sorry for the first post I was really tired and autocorrect wasn’t helping much😅 But now for some fun news: my heads clean shaved! I got the Gillette Mach 3 turbo and the same brand of conditioner that you use (tho I couldn’t get tee-tree so I went for coconut instead) and I looked at your video as I was shaving. The hardest part was the back of the head where the hairs grow in a twirl, just as you said. And also the top of my head until I realised that I needed to shave that in an angle since my hairs there didn’t grow exactly from back to front but in a little tiny angle. The hardest part then was the last shaving, getting all the tiny rough-spots and the hardest places there was around my neck. I was so so nervous at the beginning but now I’m really happy and I will continue in shaving with a razor. A question: how to protect the scalp from sun-damage. Do you use any sunlotion or such? I live in Sweden but this summer the heat is almost unbearable and I’m afraid I’ll burn my precious head.
I previously tried with shaving soap and it didn't work. I used a shampoo/conditioner as it was the only thing I had on hand; and it worked perfectly. I agree that the more blades, the better. I tried with a safety razor and it just generally doesn't cut into the hair very well compared to a 4 bladed razor.
Checking out head shave channels. I have buzz cut mine since barbers are closed. I will shave my head for the first time now. Also, first time growing a full beard. Thanks for sharing your tips.
Been using beard trimmer, no guard, for awhile. Finally used razor today and your method works perfect! Love your videos. Will be using beard vids once mine gets long enough! Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I bought the same lotion for my head and love it! After my first day with a shaved head, I went to the park for a long walk and to get some sun on my head, now it's perfect.
I’m a subscriber of yours. I’m 38 and I’ve been shaving my head for at least 8 years about twice a week. Great tips. I had the same irritation issue when I first started shaving and it went away on its own after a while. I do love the conditioner tip I’ve never tried that and will next time I shaved my head. Great videos and great content man!
I had a lot of trouble getting the pressure right my first time. A lot of work from hair to dome. I think the next time I might get it right. Virgin dome. 42.
Store your razor in a jar with some rubbing alcohol in it. It will keep the blades sharper for longer and they also stay nice and clean. I use conditioner myself, but washing the smell of it off can be a little annoying so its best not to use too much. I've found that applying the shaving solution to your blade beforehand is an effective way of preventing burn.
Dude, it's official now. We are kindred spirits. The pattern and techniques are very similar. I use shaving gel, never had an issue with it. I agree that more blades feels better so I like the Gillette fusion but they're outrageously expensive so I use BIC disposables. Don't have an issue with them. It's really all about repetition and muscle memory and toughening up that scalp.
I'll try the conditioner thing thanks. I know of some blokes who just use soap, palmolive soap etc. Fill your sink with water instead of rinsing every 2 seconds dudes, dear me.
I found the advice of using conditioner really helpful I use head & Shoulders conditioner however after I use it my skin gets really red and it looks like a little bit allergic reaction idk. I really love to use conditioner but my skin gets red and it looks like it doesn't react good to it..
Thanks. It works great shaving with conditioner and stays slick throughout shaving. I just started shaving the head down to the skin and I think I’ll do it more often since I love my head bbs. Also, do you dye your beard?
Vince Nicholas Great, I'm so glad it worked for you! No, I don't dye my beard and I can't ever imagine doing so. I think gray and salt and pepper beards look awesome!
I live in Miami I'm not from New York but I want to take my niece To the restaurant you took your daughter with the smoking drink and candy inside where was it
so, I have two trouble spots on the top of my head that no matter which way I go there is always stubble, what do I do? what am I supposed to do to get it cut smooth? and as a novice shaver I can tell you that no matter if its a safety razor or not if that things goes sideways it will cut you and it hurts a lot
Some of the best tips I’ve came across yet. Been shaving my head since I was about 19 I’m 36 now but still would get razor burn on the back of my neck sometimes. Thanx
Women ask either because we have cancer or we know someone with cancer and are trying to help them. I shave my head with an electric razor about once a week.
What do you think about shaving head with a doble edge safety razor (classic razor). Which technique diferences could be and comparations... I'm asking because i think it could be cheapper. Shaving head with dissposable razor could be expensive...thanks for your comments
Try Dorcousa.com very good blades and very cheap if u make a purchase over 40 dollars you can go on goggle and find coupon for 15 dollars I purchased 26 blades and handle for 35 dollars
I had to switch to electric foil razors to shave my head..I am super prone to razor bumps and sadly just simply cant use a traditional wet razor. takes a bit longer but i use electric shave lotion and it seems to work great!
That's a great look on you, Greg. You're lucky....you don't seem to have the problem many others do. I'm talking about scars, moles, and discoloration of the skin. I'm down to about an 1/8" and can see the time when I do shave it completely. I know I have some scarring.....old injuries from sports and childhood, in general. I do have a couple questions......have you ever found an electric razor that gives you the closeness you like? Also, when you say "conditioner" are speaking about the same product you would use on your hair, or are speaking about a skin conditioner? Thanks for another great video.
Robert Demirjian No, my skin has never agreed with an electric shaver and I've certainly never found one the has given me the close shave that a razor has. As far as conditioner goes, I never even considered differentiating the two because I don't use skin conditioner. I'm glad you brought it up, though. Definitely hair conditioner. And I'm not so sure it matters what kind or brand.
Hey ✌️, love the videos. I'm new to shaving my head, tried for the first time today, no cuts which is what I was mainly worried about but I did both passes with and against the grain with a brand new Gillette 5 blade razor and my head still isn't smooth 🤷♂️, am I just going too lightly with the razor, also my head felt very hot for a good while after, is that to be expected everytime, used a nivea post shave balm. Any advise from someone with more experience than me would be really appreciated 🦲🤟
It could be that you might be making too many passes. Not really sure. I will say that the first time shaving your head is quite a shock to your scalp. Did you use conditioner?
Came back to say... 4:55 Be sure to get this specific color and ingredients of this conditioner. I got the light green bottle by mistake and it felt like my scalp was on fire every time I used it. I now have this same bottle and it is great. No more headfires.
Interesting video and good information. I have been shaving my head just 6mo; but if I do as many passes as you do--- my skin would come off. Gillette makes the best blades... I use a combination old style single edge razor and a cartridge for trouble spots. Been saying for years to use conditioner and some people think I am crazy.....used to travel a fair amount and I refuse to take more than needed....thats when I used to NOT shave a few days and just give the stubble a form w cartridge using conditioner.... I do find absurd people traveling with: shave soap, brush and a bowl....
I shave my head with the grain and agaisnt the Grain .No ingrow hair, razor burn.i prefer 3 blade, i use mach3 turbo. Is the best razor for my head. I use Gillette fusion proglide flexball but agaisnt the Grain. Very smooth. But i prefer 3 blades.for my head is perfect! with mach3 turbo, go with the grain and agaisnt the Grain. 3 passages. Good this video for razor burn.i use only mach3 turbo. 12hours bbs, no razor burn, very smooth.hello friend, exscusmy for my english! The same for me afer shave i use Gillette balm ,is very good stuff, o gel.do you like cremo shave cream original formula, very slick,o head slick? Is very good stuff for the head! 👍😎
Hello Greg. Great Video. Quick question. How many times do you use each blade before replacing it and what is the procedure for cleaning the blade after each use. Thanks in advance.
Shaving your head will serve as remedy for dandruff. If you use conditioner to shave with and a nice after shave lotion you should be good. I have some good recommendations
I gave up shaving my head after cutting myself several times and have been using an electric razor. I saw your video and decided to try it with my wife's conditioner and a new Bic disposable I had. Wow! The Bic did not give me the closest shave but the razor just glided over my head, no nicks or cuts. I ordered some of the conditioner you recommended and a new razor. Thank you
Mine doesn't grow right. Everyone loves it. I get compliments from guys more than girls though. After letting it grow: The trick is to straight up shave off the patches that don't grow and see what styles you can still pull off. Even if all you get is a goatee, if it's solid it looks like you picked that style.
