Hi Scott, brand new subscriber and a big fan of your videos! You've helped me understand the importance of shoe care and how to do it effectively. Question - why do you skip the leather conditioning step on some videos (like this) but on others, you will opt to condition the leather after the cleaning? Keep up the great content!
@@newinspiration2108 Thanks for the response! How often do you recommend I saddle soap clean my calf leather shoes if I wear it 3+ times a week, mainly in clean office environments or on trains?
@@kdooogs oh...I use it as I like. However, my personal rule is saddle soap only if the shoes have been through lots of elements - rain, mud, dirt, puddle...Otherwise, brush off, wipe clean should be enough to maintenance in your case.
material-wise, they all use different cuts of leather on the same shoes. CJ uses slightly better cuts for their handgrade. craftmanship-wise, I think the 3 are all on the same level. Carmina has inconsistent QA, though. I'll add design, Carmina clearly wins in the design section, much better pattern, much more contemporary looking last.
How would your rate about the comfort between Carmina and AS? I found my Carmina oxford not that comfort comparing to my VASS, so I would like this AS moore to be my upgrade option, thank you.
I would say, what comes before comfort is whether the lasts work for your feet or not. I have found Carmina and AS belong to the same league whereas Vass is a true step up (better materials, hand welted, hand lasted, hand sewn, JR Rendenbach soles...) This particular AS Moore is absolutely the best model that AS has ever made! they score very high in my book in design, comfort, execution and accessibility. Comfort wise, supposed you had nailed the last's compatibility, I think Vass offers the best comfort while AS and Carmina offer the same comfort level. Vass F and U lasts work perfectly for my feet, they fit almost like bespoke.
What you do is clean the shoes first that's number one number two wypall number three condition number for polish that's what you supposed to do that's what I supposed to do with my shoes don't believe me watch the video
Fritz Greengrass no need. You obviously live in your box for the longes time possible. Did you know this cream can work as both a conditioner and an initial shine? No. Of course I dont believe you.
Fritz Greengrass it’s all good man. Nothing wrong with what you learn, you just cant apply the exact same process to everything leather and shoes - it is a waste of time, work, and product. The process which you keep nagging me about on my videos work for some not all.
