I have a question. When I shoot my right elbow (shooting hand) goes a little bit out but it's not a chicken wing at all. Should I change my shot mechanic??
@@tw7513 nani??? EDIT: I thought you predicted the future for a second but then I realised you weren’t talking about your comment being from 3 years ago you were talking about the video being 3 years old in your time
This is great advice. I was in the bad habit of shooting from the flick of my wrist when at the top, and concerned when I was not creating enough power (for range). Now I realise that its more of a momentum thing and push from the elbow when driving the arm up.
I'm not forcing this but I have the most true important information/fact to tell you all that you all need to believe in. As sinners we must get punished for all of our sins by spending eternity in hell but now the good news is that God still LOVES US so much he sent his one and only BEGOTTEN son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for all of our sins by dying on the cross to save us from going to hell and so that we can have eternal life in Heaven with Jesus Christ and God. On the third day after Jesus Christ died God raised him back from the dead. Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and he will come back for his chosen ones and take them to heaven. No one knows when Christ will come back but the Father, God. If you already believe Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord please spread the Gospel, the good news that Jesus Christ saved us because there are still people perishing in hell for not believing in Christ as their Savior and Lord.
Big hands make your shot worst if you look at shooters that weren’t great almost all of them have big hands, Shaq, Giannis, MJ (kind of from three) were as players that can’t palm them ball such as Steph curry and KD shoot better
Hi! To keep my elbow straight I tend to move my feet sideways. That sideways movement makes pull-ups difficult to take and messes up with my form. Any tips on how to handle that? Thanks for the video...
I just wanted to come back here because back on my last 4 games in basketball season the good sg got hurt and coach trusted me to take his place for shooting, I was a trash sg, and I was only good at defense, but I kid you not I had 3 15+ point games after that and now when I 1v1 I do decent, if you read this thanks g
Coach I have a low shot and don’t have enough strength to bring the ball next to my eyebrow and if I have a low jump shot I get blocked. How do I improve this??
Qrits aka ja morant Part of a proper shooting technique is not just the straight arc but also proper energy transfer. Try to bend down more and jump right before release. This makes it to where more energy is being created without using more of your arm. If you look at players who shoot at a deeper range you’ll notice their form is quicker which releases more energy doing that helps too but I wouldn’t start that yet. I’m just a high schooler whose changed his jump shot a couple times whose saying this but it’s easier said than done, that’s what grinding is for tho, best of luck!
I used to be shouted at by my coach and now by watching your vids i score 80% of the time and have good handles and can get the ball through my legs also i am short 😂
Another trick is if your shot is so bad you can’t seem to fix it, wait a couple weeks before shooting so you forgot your previous muscle memory so you can refrain your hand. 👍 I personally had a shooting percentage of 20% (not joking) and after waiting a couple months to forgot my shitty muscle memory (to be truthful I kinda gave up) now I’m a 80% shooter just after a couple days ;) All thanks to this video, that is :)
My dream goal is to become an NBA player one day. I train hard every day and try to improve. you help me a lot to learn from my mistake by uploading these kinds of videos. ILOVEBASKETBALL AS WELL AS ILOVEBASKETBALLTV DOES
I’m on my schools girl basketball team and I really wanna improve in terms of running up and down the court and making most of my shots I’ll keep you guys updated with my progress 🙂
Thank you guys so much I really needed this I'm a 9th grader who went to a ne high school with like 30 kids in the whole school and only a 9th and 10th grade... and there was one kid besides for me who was good at basketball So long story short I was the caption of a all 9th grade team with only 1 other kid who was half decent (btw me and this other kid are short) My defense is really good and on offense I have a really good drive (but I'm short) and have a lot of trouble shooting And your videos have helped me a lot... THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you for sharing and giving positive pointers. I bring the basketball up straight in front of my face and I thought it was wrong starting to find out nothing was wrong with my form. Thank you once again for sharing. I will continue to work hard. Bless you always young man 😊😊🙂

This video helped so much. I have a 2 motion shot with my set-point at my forehead with my elbow out. Though i hit shots very consistently, my shot is slow and it might be because of my elbow placement
Coach what is the best shooting workout to make me a very good shooter. Also, even when I get better at shooting, I have a lot of difficulty getting past my defenders, especially tall guys. What do I do?
Repetition is key, work on shots that you're comfortable with first. Once you master that move on to the three point shot. I didn't start consistently shooting threes until 9th grade and I started basketball in 4th.
What’s your thought on Curry, Harden and others who have their hand on the side of the ball and rotate it under as they bring the ball up? I started doing it and helps me keep my elbow in - could never do it with my hand behind, always went off my ring finger and got side spin.
it's all about getting used to it. the more you shoot with the good version of shooting the ball, the better it'll get. it's just like working out, your muscles have to get used to the pain to strengthen themselves.
