I grew up on double rims. In my old neighborhood we killed nets. Nylon and chains didn't stand a chance. I actually remember the chains not lasting as long as nylon
Thank you coach Jesse. You are the first youtube coach to actually teach where to aim for. So far on all the other coach channels that Im subscribed to they only teach form and shooting mechanics but never what to aim for. This tutorial was exactly what I needed to get more points. Have a great day and keep up your amazing tutorials!
The problem aiming for backrim is when you’re on the floor you get the illusion that the front rim is higher and backrim is lower. It could affect arc by aiming at the back. Aiming for the hooks on the front rim has worked best for me. But I’ve heard all kind of ways to aim it’s really a personal preference. Some players just look at the hoop as a whole. Some say they don’t even think just shoot. It really comes down to what works for you.
aiming for the back of the rim is 100% great for fadeaways, will almost never airball if you aim for the back of the rim, but on a normal shot i find it to be less effective.
One thing that boosted my shooting was keeping my guide hand elbow the same height as my shooting hand. Arms make a 90degree angle, triceps parallel to the floor and shooting with my legs more than my upper body.
Hey Jesse, thank you so much for sending me daily emails on how I could get better! I have been using your videos and learning from them, and it has helped me a lot! 🏀🏀🏀
I suck at shooting, most of the time it's just luck that is helping me shoot. I really thank you for this! I'm gonna try to do this tomorrow in my basketball practice
I've always been a pretty good shooter, but once I started aiming for the middle of the rim? My efficiency jumped pretty significantly. Every shot, aim for the middle of the rim. But don t forget about following through and your release
I actually have a hack that works for me, when You shoot put your elbow on the eyes' level so you make a high arc shot that has a bit better chance to go in
Thank you so much I got cut from my school basketball team because of my shooting and because if your videos I can finally increase my accuracy and make the team next year :D
One time at gym, my friend was talking about random things, he was holding the basketball, I grabbed the ball, threw it without thinking of anything, no aiming, when I threw it, I made the shot, we were about 30 feet away from the hoop.
I learned this from Stephen Curry and i already knew this. I honestly feel like my shot rivals curry's shot at this point, i added this and my shooting percentage went up, in an instant.
I talk about that in most of the move breakdown videos, and also have a video on "when to do your moves" that covers read and react specifically, also my video on "how and where to attack your defender" will help 👍🏻 If you want to go REALLY in depth with the easiest way to set up, read and react to your defender Instant Ankle Breakers: The Unstoppable Attack shows you that: gethandles.com/instant-ankle-breakers-rp/
I aim for the point of the arc that lands just above the center of the hoop - not great hit ratio but works for me. I'm now going to try the link method!
In beer pong I would make shots by imagining a sphere where I could shoot and it would go in. I noticed it works for anything. I'm small, so I do threes or pass it a lot. When on threes I see that sphere fog floating right above the basket. It's basically like aiming at the backboard but to get the net you hit that sphere. If you miss you're still in the chance of a bounce-in.
Karyna Michelle Jiménez García umm who mother is u bc last time I checked there isn't a law against commenting (unless it's racial .. something like that) and she wasnt trying to be cool she stating facts u probably don't even watch them on tv or live 💁🏾♀️🤓
The real tip is that you dont even need to aim. If you practice a lot with good form and your muscles are balanced, after years you can shoot with only check the rim for 1 second. Its called muscle memory
I haven't tried this drill for some time.. The moment that you dropped this video yesterday, I almost INSTANTLY began to remove myself from my shooting slump. Thank you for the video, Coach! Great job, as always..🙌🏾
