Chris, in my job I am required to qualify with my firearm every quarter of the year. Shooting is one of my struggles of my job. Often time I am required to remediate my qualifications in order to keep my job. After many books and videos, your are the ones that made the difference. Watching your videos has made a good marksmanship with my weapon and I don't worry about losing my job anymore. I can't thank you enough for your training videos they made a big difference in how I now shoot with my weapon. Thank you for your past service to our great country and now to your fellow man. Thank you!!!!!!

New viewer: I am someone who shoots for my job. Hint. I watched your video and focused on the front sight as you suggested. After a hour of dry firing then at the range the next day. All I can say is watch this video, practice and watch the results. You won’t be disappointed. Keep it in the 10 ring.

I love seeing the sights up close with it focusing on the front side and the other sights being blurred. Love how you did that. Great instructional piece.

Thanks Chris. I recently bought my first gun. the first couple times at the range I wanted to get used to handling recoil and proper grip. The last time I went to the range. I drove home thinking that I have horrible eyes and crappy sights. Watching your video has helped me understand that I now need to practice with my focus. I was telling my wife that all I see is a white line when aiming. Now I need to focus on the front sight and keep my gun pointed at the target. Thanks a bunch!!

Awesome tutorial. Never knew what experienced people on the range meant about front sight until I watched this clip. Following what Chris said improved my grouping immediately. Thanks Chris!

Wow. Thank you Chris for this awesome video. I watched this last night and hit the range today. My groupings are amazing. Wished I could show pics but basically my 5 shot groupings looked like 2 holes on the paper. It was hard at first but once you grasp the concept of focusing purely on the front sight and blurring out everything I was hitting 1/4" back to back and all this was done on my G43. Keep up the great work.

Crazy that I found this video. I was at the range on Tuesday practicing teqnique and I noticed my groups were far better when I focused on the front sight leaving the target blurry. I remember I read somewhere that you should focus on the front sight but that's all I remembered so I tried "looking at it" and focusing on it. Going to try this again Monday.

This is an excellent video, thank you so so much for making it Chris! I just came home from my first pistol course today and when my instructor was trying to explain this to me I just couldn't understand it but after watching your video the light bulb in my head finally turned on and now I get it. I've been shooting with one eye closed since I started shooting BB guns as a kid, now I'm 40 and learning everything I thought I already knew.

Mind blown. I've watched hundreds of videos over the years on marksmanship basics and this was one of the most helpful, insightful videos I've ever seen. Thanks for taking the time to put this together, complete and total eye opener like you said. It's the one missing ingredient to accuracy no one ever addresses.

It is the most valuable lesson I ever received for three years, I started to shoot. I "saw" the front sight clearly, maybe just a month ago and the results have improved immediately. Now, this video was confirmation of my own experience. It seems no one and did not hide, but so clearly no one ever explained. Thank you very much!

This is the best video on shooting Accuracy , Ive improved so much by just really using the front sight and the only thing I could also add is as a right hand shooter I lost my death grip with my left hand , just hold firmly and use that front sight , thank you Chris great advice here...!!!

Thanks Chris for your Over The Top informative Vids. I am an Armed Security Officer and because I was based in Australia, and now I am back in Italy, I really couldn't practice that much at the shooting range over there, as they have really strict rules for guns, even if it's a tool we constantly work with everyday for our job. In Italy it's easier to own your personal gun, so finally at least I will go from now on every week, at the shooting range to practice. Your videos are truly unbelievable and I thank you for helping everyone here to improve our skills. I am not that good, mainly because in Oz I couldn't practice. I promise I will improve a lot of gaps in my shooting. God bless you man and so your Family. I already signed as a member in your website. Thanks again for everything. Carus 👍👍👍😁

My gosh, this was amazing! I knew about front sight focus but have had trouble keeping it. The optical illusion background image for reference and the insistence on the forced 30 second long focusing sessions helped a great deal. This is what I call INSTRUCTION. Thank you!

The focusing techniques provided have helped me to focus on the sights in an improved manner and increased my ability to draw a bead quickly with minimal effort. I am putting more effort into the dry environment before returning to the range and applying the techniques described here. Psychologically training your mind to do something is one of the most powerful tools in your trunk. I look forward to testing these new ideas.

Chris, until recently I have never really spent anytime firing a pistol ( I am 58). I bought my first pistol a few weeks ago. First range day was unimpressive. I hit the target but not consistently. So, went online to figure out how to fix my shooting. I found your lessons and started training, with a plan. Wow what an amazing difference. Next range day, I could consistently place shots exactly where I intended. I can easily group five rounds into a 1 inch circle at 30 feet. With one eye closed, for now Still working on keeping both eyes open. Thanks.

As a new shooter (did a little shooting as a kid long ago) who has been meditating for over 30 years, I want to say thank you for reminding me that there is always more to learn. Took me a few tries and then "pop" the dots finally disappeared...I'm going to keep practicing before I head back to the range and I really like the idea of bringing this kind of focus and awareness into shooting. Great stuff, I look forward to watching the rest. :)

Wonderful video Chris! At the age of 14, I learned the art of focusing from an adult hunter. I had a pellet gun at the time and I couldn't hit squat. The hunter put a small orange mark on the tip of the front sight and I started hitting everything dead center! I am 69 now and have used the same principle on all my guns. I also learned to shoot with both eyes open. I don't hunt anymore but go to the gun range about 3 times a month. Still shooting good.

If you think about it, you'll not likely have time to extend arms a not settle in for when you need to shoot. Think old western shooting. Few actually aimed with sites....shot from the hip. Finger pointed at target. Look at marksman videos, fastest draws etc. As an example, you come out of bedroom get shot in arm from burglar and have to shoot from a prone position in pain. Or similar outside...target shooting isn't same as real life. What he says about eye movements..its true

Thanks Chris, this did open my eyes, I sorta used the same technique when bowling for years to get tunnel vision and it improved my game substantially, because the other bowlers around me don't distract me as much, the way I learned was to focus on a spot on the floor when I was sitting and waiting for my turn to throw.
