In 2009, I came home from a deployment and my oldest son, who was 3 or 4 at the time, wouldn’t eat for almost 2 weeks... Being a father I was obviously concerned, so I asked him about it and his answer really hit me hard… He said, “Dad, if I eat I’ll grow up and if I grow up I’ll become a daddy. And if I become a daddy, I’ll have to leave my family.” My boys barely knew who I was and I couldn’t let them grow up without a father... I realized at that moment my family needed me a lot more than the Navy needed another SEAL. So I put in for retirement the next day… Back then I knew I wanted to be with my family more than anything, so I made changes in my life that allowed me to be at home. We all want more time to spend with the people we love or doing the things we love. That’s why I’m here to help! Once you read my New Rules of Marksmanship you will learn how you can stay at home, and save time and money while you improve your shooting! I promise this works… try it now: snip.ly/vqtwv4

I don't get how your book and your decision line up. TBH kinda sounds like a story enhanced a bit to sell the book. Not saying that's the reality, but it's definitely the perception. Either way, great video and I'll check out the book.

Between 8 years in the Army and almost 22 years as a police officer, I have had a fair share of range training. I have never seen nor heard anyone explain in detail the importance of a proper stance and most importantly the why of it. I just noticed after watching your valuable video that I had developed a habit of shoulders forward and lowering my head to my sights. I did a regimen of dry firing with your technique and was amazed at how much more stable my pistol was by, tucking my shoulders back. Doing that made my pistol come up to my eyes almost naturally. Thank you very much sir.

You are spot on! I've been struggling to shoot accurately and my shots veering to left. I went back to the basics to re-evaluate what I was doing wrong. I focused on my feet, nose over toes, bringing firearm up level with my eyes vs looking down, and shoulders back! I haven't shot this accurately in over a year. THANK YOU! I was losing hope.

I've learned more in this one video then all my years shooting. My habits and stance were SO bad ( I now realize), and everyone kept saying, "you look good, your a good shot", but I struggled to acquire the sight picture and with consistency. I did my old and new stances with a mirror. Old stance was hunched over, arm bent, neck forward, shoulders crooked...ALL wrong. Now I'm grounded, squared (triangled), and straight. I have a laser target practice system. I took your teachings, and I'm shooting consistent 9/10 with both eyes open vs. 8/9/10 with one eye closed. I don't want to be a good shot...I want to be an excellent shooter. Also, just more confident in feeling and trust. I don't second guess my sight picture of fiddle with my stance now. I just follow your teachings, and it just seems to work. Still learning new muscle memory, but thank you! Total game changer for me.

I have only seen two of your videos and you are number 1 on my list for teaching!!! Why? You teach with a method that reminds me of a golf lesson. The first vid I watched was the proper pistol grip. Just like golf, your hands are the only thing that are an extension of the firearm. Poor grip...poor results. The second vid was the proper stance. Poor alignment... Poor aim...bad results!! THANK YOU!!! Somebody gets it for the beginner!! ( and I've been shooting for 32 years)✌️✌️✌️✌️

Thank you for this video, Mr. Sajnog. I have spina bifida, which affects my balance (among other problems), so I was skeptical your advice on shooting stances would apply to me. I'm glad to be reminded of what they say about assumptions. Normally I'm not able to stand still without holding onto a support like a table or handrail, but using your advice, I was able to stay steady for much longer than I'm used to, even with my hands in a shooting position. I'm not sure if I'll be able to extend that time period given some of my limitations, but you've certainly inspired me to try.

DAMN... just DAMN. Yeah, you have a new subscriber. Years in the military (marksmanship award for M-16, .38, and 45ACP), and several shooting schools after I got out. NOBODY has ever described the shooting stance like you just did. Just trying it in my house with my unloaded 45ACP I can feel the difference. It feels so much more relaxed. I instantly felt more confident in my ability to be even more on-target. As a forced right hander (grew up back when moms would switch the pencil to the right (correct) hand, I am left eyed and shoot left handed (got the scars on my right arm from mis-ejected M-16 brass to prove it). And man... that is infected in like two seconds.

Chris, I'm a new gun owner, and your videos have been invaluable to me. I had the intention of getting my ccw permit after purchasing a handgun, but I will be putting that off for a while as I realize how much of a liability I would be to myself & the public as I now know how little I actually know about safe & proper handling of firearms. I sure hope that your videos are not found to be in violation of the new policies. Professional training is quite costly. So as I save up to take classes, I plan on using your teachings to help me along in between each new class. Thank you very much.

Very good lesson! Basically classic exactly what I did learn in Latvian armed forces. But after years I did develop my own shooting stance. All the same, main thing keep Your firearm centered aligned with Your spine, but I step my right leg a bit more back and turn a bit left side of the torso towards the target. I hold the gun with both but mostly with right arm aligned with spine but keep my left arm ready for other actions, like reloading or in close combat repelling unarmed enemy striking or grabbing him.

How can I get a Chris Sajnog polo? The way you described how not to overextend was awesome because I was actually wondering about that. Now I know that if I'm engaging my back muscles I'm doing it right. I can really feel the difference. I've got to work on my breathing, as I tend to hold my breath. Will you make or have you made a video about proper breathing? God bless you and your family. God bless America.

NAVY SEAL SNIPER INSTRUCTER. I am 76, a retired police officer and can still shoot the X and ten rings out of a silhouette target at 10-15 yards with my Glock. But I am not a trained killer as you are. I know you are instructing people on how to properly shoot a hand gun, but it is obvious you are teaching it offensively not defensively. Concealed Cary should not be an offensive attitude. That being said, I thank you for your service. Very good for the range and to teach somebody to shoot for the first time. With that locked in your mind and body ,, its then help-full when you have to shoot to survive , monkey, rabbit, dog,,, any stance just to get the bean out of your cannon ,, without exposing yourself ,, unless your in a movie,,, Make sure you have a lot of ammo but dont waste. Good channel thanks
