its not a bad game .. but i think they are making BBall a bit too excessive with the controls,its like you have to do a street fighter move/combo just to get a shot now lol
The fact that this is a legit move...as in you can do it IRL....I love it. It's nice, because they're simple reads on the floor in terms of shot opportunity & spacing. Sorry, I don't have next gen. Great vid tho!

Same I can’t make a single shot, with or without shot meter on, and they got defenders clamping u every step of the way even the ones who have D- perimeter Defense lolol 🤦🏻♂️
THE TIP TO SWITCHING THE COLOUR TO RED IS SO SMART! That alone I can do! I'm pretty cruddy at the game so it will take a bit to get the dribble move mastered, but I kinda get it, get open, make the bar easier to see, practice the timing. I'm such a casual basketball fan and player of the game and I just want to be able to hit shots outside of the paint!

2k21's shot meter was their worst and most frustrating mechanic ever. It was too small, you had to sit right up on the TV to even see it. It vanished to quickly, the fact that you had to press L2/LT to lock the needle in. Even worse I downloaded 2k21 on my console and after about 6 months of playing it or so. All of a sudden the shot meter broke or got bugged or something to where; every time I activated a shot and the meter popped up, the starting position for the aiming needle would be either far right or far left. Forcing me to jerk the RS to align the needle as oppose to pushing it softly and hoping it lands in between the blocks. It was not relative to what side of the court you where shooting from either, that's how I now it was a bug. Unless the player I was controll had 85+ Mid rating or 85+ 3pt rating, that made it virtually impossible to make jumpers outside the paint even it I was wide open. I tried to play 2k21 for about another 2 or 3 months and it never got fixed so I just gave up and went back to playing 2k20. 2k should never again stray away from the vertical meter or just holding down the shot stick until the player reaches the peak or "CROWN" (as I call it) of their shooting animation. This is the most efficient way to shoot. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!.
Considering how 2k's server usually work, easy green shooting is a must. Imagine to be very difficult and the same time their famous servers lagging while on shooting.
its terrible bro. i have gigabit optics connected to PS5 through cable and it still lags like hell... i would love to enjoy the game online and earn those nice player rewards but this is just frustrating to play for me...

Yeah I realized that the second I got the game and changed it to pink ASAP. No clue why 2K thought mixing yellow and yellowish white was a good idea for a shot meter
You really saved my ass with turning the meter color red. I was getting spanked 21-2. I won the last 2 out of 3 on triple threat my team is what I always play. Thanks a lot for the info tho. Definitely got a new subscriber here.
Thanks Sam my current 3point stat is 90+ my scoring average on Pro difficulty is 69%. In rec around 20% I struggle with speed boost players and switching side to side like in this video I can't keep up with them in rec they score 35 to 50 points against me every time. I only have 3 defence badges so very weak in that area.
@@promatix5250 try to use a jumper you used to buy and have the speed not to fast but not to slow either and just do some shooting drills and you should be fine just don’t look at the meter when you shot watch your jump shot animation so you can get the timing down Kyrie jumper is pretty good to start off with smooth and easy to time
I can’t make any shots it’s impossible to get green...how am I suppose to turn meter off and use the stick when I can’t shoot with the meter n button way...smh
its my first 2k game in about 4 years and the difficulty has gone threw the roof i cant make any shots at all the my career is against the bots why is it so hard to maneuver the fact they dont have the settings set to the easiest possible boggles my mind i just wanna jump on play the campaign and dominate the bots
I grew up playing NBA live , it's night and day from 2k . The shooting is so complex for me and I do not understand why the shooting play is the most difficult beside off the ball defense .
Can you please provide a tutorial on layups/inside for big men. My opponents keep making contested inside shots like it’s wide open even though I’m contesting.
I was having an issue where my player does two step-backs: an initial one from flicking the RS back, and another one when I try to shoot. I discovered the issue is you CANNOT use the shot stick twice (bad habit), or else you do two step-backs with a very difficult / small window to green the shot. I rewatched and realized I have to use SQUARE / SHOOT button, and not the stick. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue!
ye bro don’t shoot with the right analog stick, that messes things up. Use that only for layups (to time it right) and dunks (whether safe or flashy/aggressive dunks). Always use the square button to shoot. Right analog stick is also used for stepback shots, that’s why your player was reacting the way he was.
I got so irrated missing like 95 percent of my shots online that I rage quited. It’s way too tough to score in this game , ruined it for me, I remember it used to be much easier and even attacking the basket is harder as they always block you

For real. On pro the game is fun. Anything else just pisses u off. Having to green to score is dumb. My guy has 91 3p, but if it aint green its a miss from all star up
