Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: So he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. Thank you for another wonderful lesson.

Your gifts are truly God given. Whether you are teaching on firearm subjects or on Christian principles, you make the subject matter interesting and you capture the attention of the audience. A while ago, I was looking for specific reloading information. To be short, I have been watching all your videos since. It is mostly because I know I will receive information I can rely on. You' also make the topics very interesting. That really is the anointing of God.

Asked by my local to run the NRA pistol course a year ago, told them hell no. With an insight of nuances and a rule book a mile wide, you just reminded me why I had said that. Let's go back a few years to this special cartridge, and that prohibited handgun, and all that fiasco. I think it should be against the law to ask one person to memorize all that crap to put a program together.

I do dummy & ball. A lot of dummy & ball. I learned it from a guy Named Milton Sobocinski. If you type his name on google you will see him at 1956 olympics in Melbourne. Bob Munden trained his daughter with dummy & ball. I used to suck on my PT92, after three long dummy & ball sessions I was able to get 107 out of 110 points on a gun match. Ball & dummy is boring, most people hate it, but, for me, to ged rid of flinching is 99%, the rest you can do with a laser bullet and a laser target... and I love ball & dummy.

At our range a couple of years ago we had a group of good shooters who would show up on weekday mornings. They ranged in age from. 40’s to 80’s. Bout the only thing they had in common was being really good. I watched and learned. What did they do to be so good? Step one seemed to be grip. Once that was taken care of, it was trigger control, trigger control, trigger control. The best of our shooters were all about having guns with good triggers- but they could shoot any gun accurately, no matter how inexpensive and no matter how bad the trigger was. Sight picture was next. Here is where there was some divergence. A few of our good shooters preferred fiber optic sights. I’m still not sure how they used them to shoot a golf ball at 100 yards, but they did. I was taught to use a six o’clock hold, with metal target sights, and too me that is key.

Same here. Also legally blind without glasses. Military taught to tape left safety glass and practice. Been shooting since 10, and was expert pistol/ rifle in military, still have a tendency to squint left eye to verify I am practicing right eye alignment. Hope this helps.
@jwilsonhandmadeknives2760
@jwilsonhandmadeknives2760 4 года назад
many people have retrained their brain to correct cross eye dominance. I am one who has. Remember: your brain controls eye dominance, not your eyes. Start off by simply closing the dominant eye. learn to shoot that way and your focus will improve. Then start to shoot with both eyes open, but cover the lens of your glasses of the dominant eye. When you get used to that, use chapstick on the lens instead of blocking it entirely. All this time, your brain is learning to direct primary focus onto your formerly non-dominant eye. As time goes by, your brain will have adopted the formerly non-dominant eye and made it dominant. You’ll see this because you’ll be able to shoot both eyes open without focusing on the incorrect sight picture.

@@curtis6554 You're very welcome. I am a marksmanship instructor/coach for a youth rifle team. Many kids are cross eye dominant, but we live in a right handed world. Anyone who can learn to shoot right handed will have a much easier time, but nothing stopping lefties from adapting to right handed guns, it just takes work. As far as my knives, my page is J Wilson Handmade Knives on facebook. I have never built a web page because I stay so busy already. I prefer working one on one with customers instead of making the same knife over and over, so every knife I make is to order from my waiting list. Please stop by and check out the photo albums. I certainly appreciate it.

Alright. Very informative. Now do they have a handicap class, one for us who have physical imparments?
@GunBlue490
@GunBlue490 4 года назад
Yes. Here are the rules from the NRA Precision Pistol Rules book: 13. PHYSICALLY DISABLED SHOOTERS 13.1 Physically Disabled Shooters - A shooter who because of a physical disability cannot fire from one or more of the prescribed shooting positions outlined in these rules, or who must use special equipment when firing is privileged to petition the NRA Protest Committee for permission to assume a 27 special position or to use modified equipment, or both. This petition will be in the form of a written request from the person concerned to the Committee outlining in detail the reasons why the special position must be assumed or the special equipment must be used. The petition will be accompanied by pictures of the shooter in the position he desires approved and, if special equipment is required, the picture will show how this equipment is used. The petition and all pictures must be furnished in exact duplicate. The petition must be accompanied by a medical doctor’s statement if the physical disability is not completely evident in the picture submitted. (a) Each petition will be reviewed by the NRA Protest Committee. The committee may require additional or supplementary statements, medical information or pictures. If approved, the NRA Secretary will issue a special authorization certificate to the individual concerned. Such certificates will have necessary pictures attached. (b) Shooters who have received special authorization certificates will be required to carry them when competing in competition governed by NRA rules, and to present the certificate when requested by officials of the competition or by the NRA Official Referees or Supervisors. (c) In the event of a protest involving the position or the equipment used by such a shooter, the Official Referee, Jury or Supervisor will compare the questioned position or equipment with the certificate and the photographs presented by the shooter. If the shooter’s position or equipment does not, in the opinion of the official, conform to that authorized by the NRA Secretary (or if the shooter has no authorized certificate or pictures), the protest shall be allowed and the shooter will be required to change immediately to the position or equipment which has been approved or to an otherwise legal position or equipment. (d) Should a protest be carried beyond the Official Referee, Jury or Supervisor, the original protest will be endorsed by the Referee, Jury Chairman or Supervisor to show the action has been taken and will be forwarded to the National Rifle Association. (e) National Records may not be established by use of scores fired in special positions or with special equipment as may be authorized according to this rule. (f) Two types of authorization are issued; temporary and permanent. Permanent authorizations are issued to competitors who are permanently disabled. 13.1.1 Neither the shooting hand nor the arm of a competitor may be supported - 13.2-13.3 (BLANK) 13.4 Adapted Shooting Position - (a) In all single arm pistol events the non - shooting arm must be “at rest” on the competitor’s lap. The non - shooting 35 arm may not touch any part of the wheelchair. The non - shooting arm may not be used to provide added leverage by bracing against the opposite leg. (b) The arms of the wheelchair must be removed for all pistol events. (c) When shooting from an authorized wheelchair or chair with a back, the competitor’s buttocks must be tight against the back at all times. No “lay down” or “bridging” positions using the back are permitted.

@@GunBlue490 thankyou. After reading I do see some room for improvement on these rules, as they seem to be lacking for many of the disabilities that are out there. But thats for another day. I only say this as this might inhibit or discourage some. Mabey they should consider a new or added classification and possibly recognition of record setting recording. As most handi capped or disabled do not want to considered any different or treated any different than any other, sometimes their physical imparments do require a differant approach to some activities. As we all are aware these things are being recognised and brought to light daily so they can be addressed properly and fairly. Again thankyou.
