I eat my fruit first but yeah a bag of mandarins is sooo good. Good nutrition profile too. Good amount of calcium in oranges. Orange juice there is more phosphorus than there is calcium so I prefer the whole food since I get plenty of phosphorus already and like to have my Ca:P 1:1
I eat my steaks first, but well uh, they're an excellent source of B12 which most vegans end up supplementing anyways. Like the fact that all the nutrients in meat have already been converted into readily bioavailable forms. I won't be anemic, weak, or miss out on the benefits of L-Carnitine or Creatine. Then, I consume those helpless oranges...
How is this evolutionary consistent? Our ancestors ate oranges not orange juices. There is a difference. And i think our insulin response to those differs as well.
Not really tbh.. they sell similar 64oz sized bottles of fresh squeezed orange juice at Whole Foods for about $13 and honestly that’s about the equivalent of 2 $5 bags of squeezed oranges.
I do both! But man the juice culture is real 😂 everyone wants it fast and easy lmao, no offense to those who do but damn like you stated eat the damn orange 💯💯🙏🏼
@@user-or6yn8pm3c That's pure cap. Your body will definitely tell the difference, same if you'd compare raw milk vs ultra heated skimmed milk. There's actual nutrients in the raw/fresh product vs the processed one. Does that mean you should guzzle juice or milk everyday? Probably not unless you're actually doing several hours of demanding work/exercise everyday.
He is active and outside of fruit and honey he doesn't have any carbs. Ask any marathon runner if they could eat like him. No way. The reason his diet of meat would work for most people is most people don't walk much.
@@RealWalterWhite123 I prefer people doing some critical thinking before asking banal questions. It's clear that Logey isn't really looking for a true answer, anyways.
If organic fruit juice is bad, by those standards I should be in the hospital right now. I think it’s PROBABLY true that an animal based diet is optimal for humans, but your body knows how to handle other foods too.
This plastic story makes me wonder: with all the advances in technology would it be possible for scientists to discover a way that these plastic containers or bottles have on the inside a layer of glass so that the juice does not stay in plastic or any food item be packaged in glass bottles or jars..
Not all plastics are created equal, and youd have to be an absolute Expert to know how much plastic Actually ends up doing harm. It's really not fair to say this is plastic you cannot use it, when in reality it really depends on many factors.
address the heavy metals in commercial juice. Lead concentrations in fruit juice is above 15ppm. If you're not squeezing out the juice yourself you're getting heavy metals in your diet.
@@TTR83 Take a look at the micro plastic/rubbers that come from orchard fruits that are near paved roads. Cars driving on the roads lose small amounts of rubber all the time as they travel and that gets ground down by rain, rocks, and other cars over time, deposited into the soil and eventually makes its way into the fruits and vegetables we harvest. At this point I'm thinking that it would just be better to go back to horse drawn wooden carts and hamlets or villages with gravel or stone paved roadways. Industrialization has caused so much contamination that it's out of control at this point.
I would never buy a store orange juice. Eat a friggin orange if you want OJ juice. Fiber is GOOD despite what carnivores say. Just don't get stupid with fiber, but the fiber in an orange is an added benefit to the juice.
What about fresh pressed? Are there not many supermarkets which offer fresh pressed? Oh yeah, hang on, it is the US, so probably not. But still, you failure to mention this is indication of the issues with your posts.
I have many food sensitivities and I am sensitive to pretty much all fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, major sensitivity to honey, major sensitivity to all dairy. The only things I am clearly not sensitive to is all meats and most seafood. I have done the all meat carnivore diet before but it is almost impossible to start it up again. I have hashimoto’s and mcas which I didn’t realize until I saw an md who isn’t a part of the mainstream rhetoric. No cv vaccine support from him lol. But if someone is dealing with underlying conditions a food sensitivity panel can help you make food decisions tailored to your physical makeup. Anyways, that’s my two cents.
I am not a doctor or nutritionist, I am just trying to learn for my health and that of my family. Orange juice is VERY HIGH IN FRUCTOSE. In fact any FRUIT JUICE is high in Fructose. It would not be so healthy, not healthy at all, and at least a strong emphasis should be placed on the fact that it is directly harmful to those who suffer from obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, non-alcoholic or alcoholic fatty liver, and so on. Why doesn't Dr. Saladino notice this? I am very surprised. Perhaps you should be more careful, that what is good for your health, in your state of health, may not be so beneficial and even harmful for the average person today. Grateful.
I also read that ‘fiber’ in fruit is much better because it ‘slows down’ the sugar (as as you said, high in fructose) absorption into the body system, but fruit juice with the ‘fiber removed’ should not be consumed because it gives a ‘quick’ blood sugar spike, maybe insulin resistance, high glucose levels, and of course fatty liver because the body stores sugar as fat for energy. ~But skinny, physically fit and active people who do a lot of exercise can burn off sugar and fat (caused from orange juice) so it’s healthy for them to drink. “But” for overweight obese people that are sedentary (non-exercisers) then they should ‘not’ be drinking orange juice. ~The same thing that applies to ‘sugar’ also applies to eating a lot of ‘carbohydrates’ as well, which is weight gain, fatty liver, blood sugar spikes, and maybe insulin resistance, and also slim, fit, active people can burn off ‘carbohydrates’ much better as well.
Saladino found his niche to grift on in the diet space. Bart Kay addresses the issues that Paul suffered on his dietary journey and why he's advocating for regular fruit and organ consumption. It's just his bias at work. He can't be objective and you can see how he'll go into defense mode if he talks with other carnivores who are against sugar consumption.
Yup, in no way shape or form is fruit juice healthy. The fructose will spike insulin and cause other health issues. Eating the whole orange would be more ideal.
@@ianstuart5660 Yes. I have not eaten any fruits for the past 5 years. If you have a good intake of raw meat, and liver, you don't need vitamine C in fruits. I also eat 200 grams of saturate fat during a day. I get all my energy from saturated fat. I eat dairy also. For electrolytes, I drink water with some salt.
@@jenniferibarra7737 It certainly gives me a boost! I feel better with some carbs in my diet, and for me fruit juice has been a good source. I can't really tolerate grains or other stuff like that, so fruit has been great! Some people do just fine with low carb, and from a vitamin standpoint you're not really getting anything "special" from juice you can't get from animal sources, but if you do better with some carbs like I do, then juice has been a good option in my experience. I think it really just depends on your situation and goals!
Imagine walking around supermarkets like a white 90's rapper with the hands💁🏽. Non of your viewers are professional surfers that live in Costa Rica, nobody who takes life seriously weighs up the pros & cons of packing fresh coconuts for a flight. I buy from the local butcher, local eggs, loval honey, but keep it semi realistic for the average person.
orange juice is really not that healthy. see it as a treat. not only the sugar bit it’s quiet aggressively acidic. it melts your teeth. the stomach doesn’t like it. much better to just eat oranges.
how bad or how less good is orange juice or juice in general if it's not cold pressed? is there a huge loss of the positive effects? on the other hand I think it's probably not that much cause I'm not sure but I think the studies he shows about fruit juice probably didn't use cold pressed or slef made juice anyways and they still showed a positive effect they probably used normal commercial standard fruit juice that doesn't cost super much
Orange juice is just glorified sugar water. Nobody needs to drink it and in many people’s opinion nobody should. Does it taste good, sure, but that doesn’t necessarily mean its good for you.
I dont drink it. Only eat oranges or tangerines. You want to eat the entire fruit. What I drink...is.. water, green tea ..or coffee (organic). Fruit juice is bsht without all the pulp n fiber. No juice. Done deal.
Masses already over weight and top of that orange juice. 😅 If you love orange just munch fruit..... Juicing ain't good unless you surf 4 hours a day at equater like this guy
Paul is not looking to healthy in this video. I follow the same diet for the most part, and sometimes I wonder if some of the things paul says are worth it. For the most part, I know it is and will continue animal base diet
Unless you are a beach surfer who surfs over 3 hours a day and works out daily like Paul, I don't recommend overdoing the fruit juice. Just eat the fruit and be done.
I agree with some things he says , very cool. But the part about eating pressed sugar from fruit is dangerous and spikes glucose levels, and isnt good for skin health. You must eat the fiber inside.
Fruits and honey with meat don't work for me. Infact causes blood sugar spikes and I put ten pounds of weight on in one week. Strict carnivore or low carb Keto works for me but no sugars.
Isn't oranges high in oxalates though? I thought this was one of the reasons we are staying away from spinach, broccoli etc. was due to its plant defense chemicals and oxalates.
The only problem I have with all this information is the expectation that everyone can afford to be Soo selective with every perfect food choice and for all that why not just buy a bag of oranges and squeeze em yourself?😊
The best way to buy any juice is not to buy it at all juice is probably one of the worst thing on the planet for you to consume. I don't recommend much of any fruit but if you must have fruit only eat it in its whole form never just the juice. And stick to berries more than anything
I don’t know what to believe anymore, i listen to santos bonnaci and he says that we make the most mistakes eating animals and that happens exactly when I start carnivore diet. Help please I am so confused!
yes. A lot of the nutrients in fruits are bound up in the indigestible fiber. So if you're not eating the "flesh" of the fruit as well as the rind, you're missing out on a lot of the vitamins. But you can't digest that stuff anyways so it doesn't matter.
The orange juice is probably the thing im least sold on in all Pauls advice/recommendations. I love it and want it to be true but just seems like so much sugar (i know its natural but still).
It is a lot of sugar, but it’s got so much other good shit in it that I think it’s worth the sugar you’re getting. Unlike a fruit like grapes for example, which are pretty much just tons of sugar and very little real nutritional value.
@@charlesbrown4483 most fruit juice is just fiber, sugar, and water. The amount of vitamins and minerals are largely negative because they aren't absorbed at rates that really matter and things like vitamin C aren't necessary to consume in large quantities if you're not eating bread or grains. You pee out most of what you take it. Paul is taking some shots to the dome and his confirmation bias won't allow him to see past the oxidative damage that sugar does to the body. If you consume it, it should be in very small amounts infrequently and from sources you can trust to not use herbicides and pesticides or even commercial fertilizers.
Just remember if you eat zero sugar, your body still makes it. You will always have a blood sugar level unless your dead. There's still no proof that natural sugar causes diabetes.
The issue I have with his juice push is that he used to talk about how the fiber in fruit makes you absorb the sugar in a more healthy way. Juice has no fiber unless you specifically get it with pulp. Other than that, it's not much different than any other sugary drink. I don't even think eating fruit is good unless you live a highly active lifestyle, which Paul does.
All juice has been pasteurized for safety even ur organic cold pressed juiced is pasteurized as soon as its pasteurized its so full of higher glucose & fructose and spikes insulin way more only way is doing it ur self sport 😊
That is very valuable and good information, thank you, I did ‘not’ know that pasteurization of fruit juice ‘increases’ harmful fructose and glucose. Then yes, make your own homemade orange juice ‘with the pulp’ (I think pulp slows down the absorption of harmful sugars) and/or eat a whole orange, I cut it into four slices and tear into the white pith part with my teeth! ~Fit people who are physically active and slim can ‘burn off’ sugar, fat, and fatty liver better than obese sedentary people.. ~One question:: I buy bottled carrot juice sometimes at the store , if vegetable juice is been pasteurized then does that also spike the harmful fructose and glucose.??
@@mfcorp9608 How did you get to that conclusion? I am actually saying It would be best to make your own juice from fresh oranges in a more sarcastic way
I am pointing out that if the juice is from concentrate then i agree it is crap But if you go to a higher wuality grocery store or a health store the cold pressed stuff is on par with squeezing it yourself
