@@sebbastiann App Lab isn't the same as sideloading. Chances are that there will still be games that won't come on App Lab, so those you'll still need to sideload. I'd check what game you want to play and check if it's on App Lab, if not, then you can use this method too. Shouldn't be a problem to do both.
Hey, I know you might not see this, but in the latest livestream, thanks for noticing me when I said hi. It made my day, you people are so awesome. Tutorial was really helpful too.
@@Xenbolts2222 bro its simple theres the charging chord that came with your headset you use that on an android phone if you dont have an android phone than you need to buy a chord that will connect to your headset and pc
Thank you, it worked flawlessly Heads up to anyone watching this, Meta Quest app updated and to turn on Developer Mode you need to click on devices then the headset settings instead of the original settings/ more settings
CAS!!🚨🚨 I'm planing on giving a quest to my parents! How about a video with the top apps and experiences for older people that don't necessarily like to play games? I know you have a video of different things to do in VR but something more targeted to older audiences would be really helpful!
Thank you so much! This was super helpful! I was able to sideload one game and that was awesome! I'm having a really hard time doing it again for some reason. I wish it wasnt so complicated and so many steps. Can you please tell me, how many of the steps need to be repeated after you've already sideloaded a game? Thank you!
the only reason i cant do this right now is because i don't have a phone number or a credit card, this tutorial is a little confusing for me but i bet i could get this to work if i had a phone number, 2024 btw yet this tutorial is better than any others I've seen so far (Edit: I was right, just hooked up my phone number and it works like a charm, thanks for the tutorial)
Followed your steps and still it shows no device on the bugjaeger and even when it installs, there's nothing on my quest. What am I doing wrong if I followed your entire video?
@@CasandChary Oh also the aptoid tv appstore works and you can control it with the touch controllers so you don’t have to mess with browsers and downloading apks from possible shady websites. 😁
Does this work with iPhones? I know quest is an android product, so I figured you probably can’t side-load using an iPhone, but you mentioned Huawei phones, so that got my hopes up. Any input from anyone who knows will be greatly appreciated.
Wow 🤩 nice video that means that you can play steam games on the oculus quest 2 without pc by installing them on the internal storage on the quest by side loading them ? 😳😁
is there any way to do this without a cable? unfortunately the oq(1) charging cable doesn't work as it's recognized as a high performance cable and disconnects immediately. i'd like to know if there is any possible way before buying a usb c to usb c cable.
As far as I know you need a cable. Sure you don't have one laying around? Maybe siblings/ friends? There's a way to do wireless adb commands, but then you still need to give permission with a cable first.
I get to the point where I connect a cable to the phone and headset. The headset does not ask about Bugjaeger and does not show it connected in the bugjaeger app. Any ideas?
same issue for me. i had a brand new cord, but for some reason i had to wiggle it around to make the dialogue boxes appear, but once they did it was smooth sailing.
Hey, I managed to get APKPure installed on my Quest 2 so I can install almost any Android app I want to on my Quest...unfortunately, somewhere down the line (maybe because I installed SideQuest installer onto the Quest), this might've also made my compatibility with installing via SideQuest VR using both the computer and the phone non-existent. Any way around this? Thank you
Wow I’m waiting for my quest to and I didn’t even think about having a PC or laptop I’m a console gamer and the PS VR was sold out everywhere and I noticed it said online that the oculus 2 is technologically better than the PS VR and it was cheaper so I grabbed it I came upon this video while searching for games and stuff for VR and said oh crap if I need a PC to play this I’m going to be so tight because I don’t have the money to waste on something I’m hoping the side load works I really thought it was a system like a PlayStation has web browser and all that and I can’t believe that this VR doesn’t have the same looks like meta don’t want regular people who love games but on Consol and haven’t entered the PC world ever and I just feel like I’m about to get jerked on $300 so thank you for the video I hope it works but Zuckerberg needs to understand if you wanna beat PlayStation it’s about convenience the easier it is to use The more people will be drawn to that product
I've done phone developer. Done the site register, downloaded bugjeager, but it won't connect my vr to jaeger. Also having trouble keeping headset and oculus app on phone paired for more than 2 seconds
This no longer works I believe, the app doesn’t connect anymore just says “no device connected” even though usb debugging is turned on, and it’s connected via usb c
Whenever I connect my usb to my quest nothing would show up on my phone or quest, I've done this before and sideloaded games but sometimes it's a bit wonky and won't work most of the time
REQUIRES AN ANDROID PHONE 1. Download bugjaeger 2. Activate developer mode on ur phone 3. Connect a USB cable from ur phone into ur quest 2 press allow and yes on all the prompts 4. Press the blue circle with the arrows in it on the bottom right of the screen 5. And enter these commands: setprop debug.oculus.textureHeight 3072 setprop debug.oculus.textureWidth 3072
I think my phone has a USB-C slot built in but the cable won't fit so I'm using an adapter. When I plug the adapter into my phone, it doesn't ask if bugjaeger can have access. It doesn't say anything. My phone model is the Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit. Any help?
I downloaded bugjeager and put the usb c into my oculus and my phone and it doesnt say anything about “allow bugjeager to use this” it just charges my phone (it is the same usb c from the box)
Can you use this mobile side loading to install new maps for pre installed games? Like Beatsaber? Any advice would help, I haven’t tried yet because I have to dig up my droid. But I’m more interested in custom mods than apps I can already get from app lab lol. Thank you for a great video!
ugh! … I get all excited but every time have to find out that yet again I can’t do something on my iphone/ipad that we honestly should be able to do by 2022. Sad.
Uhh i plug in the cord from my phone to my headset and i dont het any prompt what do i do? Bugjager is not seeing my quest at all im starting to get pissed bc the tutorial is not working i have messed with the usb setting before on my phone but i tryed all of the setting nothing worked
How about an android box? I cannot find any specific guesses on it. I have a pc. But if it can be helped id rather not have to fire up my pc for a simple file transfer if my android box works. I dont see why not it can go to the store. But like i connect my vr headset and the hesets like “want this device to connect” i say allow. The android box sidequest app says connecting connecting connecting. But doesn’t go further lol
Hi there love your videos on quest but I'm having a problem doing this I have a huawei phone and it keeps stopping me do this as it switches the USB debugging any help thanks
