Hi. My oldest son just left for college this past summer. He's nearly fluent in ASL and taking more in college. I've been studying ASL weekly for the past 3 months. He comes down next week for his birthday and I'm going to surprise him that I can do the basics!! Your videos have helped me a lot. They are so clean and simple. Thank you !!
Hi and thanks for watching! Sometimes signs are regional meaning that one version of a sign is used in a certain area. That is why I try to show any variations that I may know. Sometimes people recognize one option and not the other.
@@ASLLOVE I've definitely noticed that. This is in Great Falls, MT, the home of Montana School for the Deaf and Blind. 230 miles away in Kalispell the signs are different there. This presents challenges to a novice like myself.
@@K9River I totally get it. I studied on the West Coast and now live on the East Coast. So many signs are different! That’s a big part of why I try to show so many options.
I love this. The itchy finger is the ASL version of the word か (ka) in Japanese. か denotes a question. As in 大丈夫ですか (daijobu desu ka) “are you alright?”. Without the か you are saying “it’s alright”.
