Just for the sake of clarity. This song was made for a Chinese TV show and the video was a fan made video that used this song. A fan suggested I review it and when I looked at it I loved it - especially since there were so many great things to talk about. I also love it because here is Dimash singing in English to Mexican footage. I thought it spoke to Dimash's world appeal and his ability to reach across barriers and bring people together. Прекрасная лирика и музыка красивым голосом Димаша. Фоновое видео представляет празднование дня мертвых, важной традиции мексиканской культуры. Я заметил один или другой комментарий, которому не нравилось фоновое видео, но я хочу вспомнить, что мы должны быть смиренными и благородными, уважая культуру другой страны, потому что у нашего дорогого Димаша была похожая проблема в программе TWBEST, сдаваться и расставаться. 2 детей в финале и то же самое было подвергнуто критике, потому что люди, которые не понимают, что в культуре страны Димаш (QAzaqstan) дети получают поддержку и поощрение следовать их художественному дару. Есть прекрасная анимация, если я не ошибаюсь от PIXAR, на эту тему, День мертвых, здесь, в Бразилии, получил название: LIVE, LIFE IS A PARTY; пожалуйста, подумайте об этом. БРАЗИЛИЯ.

I have to admit that I didn't pay any attention to the visuals featuring the annual Day of the Dead celebrations, but just listened to the lyrics and the way he sang them, the tone, the emotion. I was ready to cry in the first half minute. Watching videos earlier in the day of Jonghyun in the seemingly happy times before his suicide mAy have had something to do with that, but I suspect that I'd have felt that way anyhow just from this performance. It was all there. The tech analysis was brill. Thank you, Dr. Marc.

Thank you for your reaction. I always enjoy your reactions of Dimash. I absolutely love this song by Dimash. He sings it so beautifully. I love his voice in this song so much! I love the medley of this song. He sings this song so perfectly!!! However, I personally, do not like this video at all. There is another video that another fan did for this song, using clips of Los Angeles, CA. I don't like these videos. This is a beautiful love song, but those particular videos do not do Dimash or the song justice. This is my personal opinion. But as far as Dimash and the song goes, he is perfect and the song beautiful!!! Greetings from the USA.

Love this song, beautiful. I get a different meaning from it everytime I listen to this song I feel something different. I heard it first without any fan videos attached, it was just a lyrics video I've been watching. All sorts of thoughts ranging from yes loss of loved ones and remembering their life, to having to walk away from someone you love to save yourself or them from you, to clinging on to your future dreams when everything else is trying to tear them away and also weirdly maybe feelings of a parent trying to explain to their child why they weren't around when they were growing up. Love the instrumentation too stunning .

Dear Dr. Mark, thank you for your vocal analyses. It is great as usual. But this song is a soundtrack to a different movie: GoGo Squid, this is a Chinese dorama. The story is different, it’s about love. This video is a fancam. The visual does not relate directly to this music. Fans just used it and created their own story based on Dimash’s song and made actually new interpretation of it. It’s the fantasy of ECHO Of PETERSBURG studio. I do not recommend to take their video because they often create such type of misleading fancams.

Could you comment on Dimash's choice of vibrato. On long notes sometimes there is no vibrato, sometimes there's vibrato, sometimes starts straight and ends with vibrato and sometimes vibrato that turns into a straight note. I'm not so much questionning the technique but rather the reason why you would choose one over the other. Is it something that is clear cut ?

Good question! I can only speculate on why he chose what he did. But in general vibrato is actually a sign that the voice is relaxed and working efficiently. Consequently, there is an amount of empathetic emotional response from the audience when there is vibrato making it so they don't feel so tense. Straight tone is the opposite. There is more intensity and stress in the voice and consequently we have the same emotional response. When a note is cut off from held straight tone without vibrato at the end it is a more abrupt and kind of harsh cut off. Straight tone to vibrato to cut off a softer cut of. And consistant vibrato more soft still. So if you take that into account maybe it will give you insight into why he chose what he did as specific places?

I'd love to see you analyze a live performance of Nightwish like "The Greatest Show on Earth" or "Poet and the Pendulum". I'm sure, you will find a lot of quite unique features there. I mean, i like Dimash, the colors and agility of his voice, but he is a solo artist, so a real band would be nice for a change ;)

Could this perhaps be Dimash's love trying to honor and understand the Mexican people due to how we, in the U.S., are treating them so horribly when they feel desperately that they have to leave if they want to be able to live? (I'd give anything if I could change this. It breaks my heart)

Wonderful, I Love Dimashes voice. But would you please react to Tengri, "Heaven". That's a Song even Dimash can not do. I didn't understand a single word, but was crying anyway. Later I read, it was about having lost his Homeland,and his little dauther althoug.

Someone put their own video to the song. It is not the Official which shows Dimash singing as well as clips from the series for which it was intended. It is a Chinese T.V. series. This video irritates me. Wouldn't this be direct copy right infringement?

Удивительно?в интернете уже больше недели блогеры обсуждают эту последнюю песню Димаша, анонсировавшего саунтрека к модному китайскому сериалу. Что касается клипа, ребята с канала Эхо Петербурга сделали несколько версии клипов к этой песне. Здесь видео с южонамериканского карнавала... вернее это Мексика. Предельно все ясно...
