Yes her reaction was right. Im glad she open this up, it came from a vocal coach. Cuz im afraid to get bash if i was the one to say it but I do felt that sometimes her squeeks are not on its place. I got nothing but love for Mori and I hope she does not hurt her larynx while doing unintentional vocal cracks.. When she perfomed phoenix live, im pretty sure there should have been no squeeks on that "win" on the line "there's still time left to Win", the squeeks is really unintentional right? Cuz in the Akin Ka Nalang wish bus performance, there you can really hear perfect and intentional vocal breaks between the "araw araw" line. 👍 Queen Mori 👑 ❣️

@@rodrigomayores8095 I think her squeaks are intentional but you can tell at times her voice isn’t with it. With that being said, she did change vocal coaches in 2018. If you look at her newer stuff, like Phoenix she sings very differently. She’s in a healthier place with her voice now.

Thank you Doro, I 100% agree. I would never ever in a million years tear down a singer or impose my subjective opinion about their voice. It does stand to reason I think she is a phenomenal singer but I just hear aspects of early Adele in her voice which would make me question - can she sing that without any effects. If yes, then fantastic, if not then I would worry about longevity. Thank you for your lovely comment, honestly I am not sure where all for the negativity is coming from. It is me trying to help those who with to understand her technique more because we all have beautiful individual voices that are there to be cherished.

@@gailtorres3768 hey there - I will try! But It is hard for me to describe in English - yes it is my personal opinion! Zoe’s explanations up there are super helpful and precise! Now my opinion: So Morissette is an unbelievable great singer with a beautiful voice and musicality!! Gorgeous!!!! I would love to hear her sing without any microphones a cappella in a room one by one - listen that way what she actually does. It is hard for me to analyse just from recorded performances! Her technique itself doesn‘t sound unhealthy to me! Actually I admire her high belting notes- they sound very effortless, focused, open and connected to her body! BUT she often pushes out her breath before high and very heady phrases and there you can hear that she loses the connection to her body - this kind of breathy sound in those registers causes knots on your vocal folds if you do it too often or if you do it while you are having a cold or anything like that! (As an opera Singer you have to get rid of that habit very quickly because you would never have the endurance to sing a whole show) And I suppose her fans and admirers Love her for those „crawling“ sounds because it should transport some of her emotions - it sounds super cool with her but for my taste there is too much pressure on her throat - if I listen to that carefully and try to cope that kind of sound- it must feel itchy for her too! Afterwards it needs some time, that the tone she does sounds super clear- and this is mostly a sign, that this was to much pressure! She does a lot of these things on purpose and I think she is such a great vocalist and I suppose she knows exactly what to do to achieve those great performances! In fact if she can sing through those songs without these specific styles she chooses - it would be great! You have to clean your Voice once in a while to maintain your great niveau! And she is hopefully sensitive enough for her body, that she can handle the pressure of fans and producers who love her for those cracks in the voice that she protects her huge gift! But I always wonder, if she could sing like that a 2 or 3 hour recital! And we‘ll see, if her voice stays healthy. This industry destroys so many great voices because it is mainstream to roar, crack and scream everything out - nobody asks those great singers if this really feels GOOD for them! Great singing has a lot to do with proper (voice) muscle training. If you force your muscle all the time without resting and building up skills which care for your instrument- you can hurt yourself! The price is too high!! A lot of great singers had to have surgeries and never came back as great as before!!!

She didn't realized that its tough being at the top of the food chain when it comes to singing in the Philippines because if you're not as good there's great singers in every street corner there! There's something in her throat?? lol...ok.

@Noel Garcia i'm sorry for the community and fandom of morissette i've been a solid fan for 7yrs but i've never never commented like these, coz i've never seen such a bad and an inconsiderate reactor since 7years it just got into my nerves knowing this zoe , reacted only to be wanting to sabotage or wanting to find mistakes in mori's performances, and the way she talked and made faces to mori got on my nerves. try to read all what is in the comment section, a flack of negative comments is there and only then take note and only then did she comment that morissette is on point and incredible, only then did she realize what reaction she has done. she's impossible and not credible to watch.. it's always hers not morissette, even boasted she can hit an f6, but when she's mimicing mori's falsetto is an enough thing to hear because of her tone, sooo annoying..

Lol, actually I have watched a number of her videos. This isn't something wrong with the sound, I also said at the end that I stand corrected. She just sounded like she was flipping up into Falsetto more than usual. The important part of these videos is more to show aspiring singers that the can create these sounds too, I would never criticise a singer.

Whistle register is not something that you can learn to do. Whistle notes are a function of the larynx that you are either born with or not. The ability of the singer has nothing to do with how high and low they can sing, it is to do with the precision and quality of their tone.

I would gladly retract my comment however if you are happy to provide the study on young singers development of the whistle register. I would love to be proven wrong by science.
