Fun fact: Morissette has just recently become the very 1st to have been voted for the number 1 spot for Most Requested Artist on an opening debut on MTV Friday Livestream+ and the only Filipino included in their voting website.
You are right, her vocal flexibility is amazing as other vocal coaches analyzes her live performances and can transition to different vocal registers quickly from chest to whistle, chest to head and others. Her belts can take up to Bb5 without mixing as those are real belts with resonance up to F5 and in that cover song she belts out F5 and some of the fifth ocatve notes. She has a wide range and she is really amazing. Also, her intentional vocal breaks are on point though, placed on right parts and made a song more emotional.
This my first time watching your videos.I've watched a bunch of vocal reactors and you're one of only a handful that actually know what they're talking about. You're reactions are very informative and entertaining. I love it. Keep it up!
That crack is called "Vocal Fry Register". FYI, she has an amazing vocal range--5.5 octaves. You may check her Fly Like a Bird cover and Akin Ka Na Lang on Wish FM.
Franco Westking I hope you enjoyed the video. Just a heads up but the crack isn’t vocal fry...or at least not correct vocal fry. What she is doing is an over strain on the adductor and abductors muscles that control the vocals and then they make a harsh adjustment. I’m only mentioning this because vocal fry is actually a good thing if used correctly. It’s brings together the vocal cords correctly so then from that placement you have one of the foundations for a nice mixed belt ( which she clearly has) I just didn’t want you to mix up vocal fry with “cracking” of the voice :) I hope that helps clear things up a little and truly hope maybe it will help you along your singing journey ❤️❤️❤️
Oh and there’s no such place as vocal fry REGISTER. Vocal fry can be applied in any register not just a certain one. Again please know I am saying this in a friendly manor and not in a snooty “ I know what’s best” type of keyboard warrior way hahaha! Much love ❤️
There was another vocal coach who called it a whistled fry scream. I do think it is related to a whistle and has a scream element to it. I don’t think fry is involved in it at all.
@@SongsFromASuitcase she did address this before as part of her stylistic choice though evidently she minimizes the use of the vocal crack already. She was asked if that's an unhealthy vocal practice and she said for those who aren't trained, it might cause vocal problems in a long run but she assured that she's not one of them ultimately because she has been trained to do it and what not. Even whistle predicament of damaging vocal cords has been addressed by her on one of her kumu's sessions.
@@SongsFromASuitcase Yes I did so far. Sorry if I've given the wrong info, it's just that it's what I heard the kind of terminology other reactors call with that vocal cracks. Whatever it is, I find it eargasmic and conveys deep emotion.
Thank you for this reaction 😍 I can really feel your joy watching Mori, wish you could react to her again- rise up (a capella 2020), defying gravity, fly like a bird

Morissette Amon is one of the finest the Philippines has ever produced. A lot of people consider her as among the best vocalists in the world today. Morissette's signature song is Akin Ka Na Lang, a Filipino ballad that is becoming popular even among non-Filipinos. Malaysian superstar Shila Amzah actually made her own version and uploaded it on her channel. Many of her covers has become the most watched versions/covers like Secret Love Song, Against All Odds and Never Enough. She is so amazing that she has become the favorite of many many vocal coaches and reactors worldwide- generating for such channels literally tens of millions of views and tons of subs, with quite a number getting as much as upwards of a million or two views on a single reaction video. Her fans span the globe and many follow her with utmost zeal and dedication. I hope they find their way to your channel. Subbed. Take care and stay safe, healthy and happy.
Now that you have heard the Andrea Day version, now check out her version with an Acapella group. As stated below, FLy like a Bird, Resignation, Akin Ka Na Lang, etc. She can do it all

Are you kidding? She can't even get the tone while imitating morisette. Doesn't even know the lyrics. Why don't you review The Carpenters instead... I'm sure you'll get it right. Looks like you're still stuck in a cassette era. Music evolves with time.. watch other reviews from the younger teachers. You'll learn a lot. Laters.. 🙂

You are absolutely right. At least you’re genuine. Some coaches just don’t know what they are talking about. All you hear are praises. Don’t get me wrong, I love this girl, but since you are here to react and point out stuff, I see and understand what you are talking about and I learn new things from your professional perspective. Good job.
As many vocal coaches as I watch and singers reacting and calling out the technical side of vocalization, I still couldn't sing like her. I don't have the God given lung capacity and control she's got. Not that I'm trying but if I was I'd have choked on some of those points already! 😂 Great break down! See you in her next one!
Thank you coach for your informative analysis to Morissette's voice or performance. Love your reaction to her. Recently she has a new performances in stage sessions, can you please react to one of the song that she sung there which is "Defying Gravity" I'm sure gonna love her performance there as much as I do. Looking forward for your next reaction to her, 👋 bye.
Pls react to her own song: 1.naririnig mo ba 2.Akin ka na lang 3.diamante And her own rendition and cover 4. Fly like a bird 5. Rise up acapella 6.resignation 7.stone cold 8.secret love song 4.

This vocal coach knows what she's talking about. As a singer I only know how awesome each part was but she breaks it down in digestible information. So good.
Morissette brought me here. Subbed. More from her please. Give her cover of Defying Gravity from the Broadway musical Wicked during one of her livestreams a listen. Thanks.

whoaaa i would say this is the best reaction i' ve ever heard from a voice coach. i love how you disect phase by phrase her delivery of every word. live it coach. new subs here btw
Your reaction was on point and so detailed that gives me a lot of idea what's going on in her performance! Love it. And also did you know that this cover of her got deleted a couple of times? Because it has a lot of views than the original!
I wish you could make your screen bigger than the one you are reacting since we are looking foward on your reaction towards the singer. Thank you for reacting by the way. I love it
I HAD to with Taylors song because it got blocked on YT. Sometimes a video needs to be qweeked a little here and there to be approved. It's annoying for sure!

Hi coach, great reactions as per usual. The dog was becoming jealous for the camera. Please do a reaction to Katrina Velarde. There's simply NO way you can talk about Morissette, without adding her to the conversation. I'd suggest you start with the oldest "Go the distance - wish bus" to "One sweet day - with Budakel" then "I wanna know what love is". Beside also having a massive range, the one thing that stands out, is she must be the queen of riffs and runs in the Philippines, which of cause brings us to the MC comparison you just made. And that's saying alot if you've seen all the talent there. She also does a segment called "one take cover sessions". It's a must see. Thank you coach. Looking forward to further reactions to both these powerhouses. Just a fan from South Africa. 💞👋

Wow thank you for analyzing Mori's vocals! Her "squeaks" give me goosebumps every time i hear them even though i am prepared for it lol. Sorry don't know how to name that. 😂 This girl is phenomenal! Mori and Sarah are my fav Filipino singers. Once again, thank you!
Rainier Esguerra oh snap!!! I just noticed!! That’s awesome! I can’t wait to hit 10,000 subs so I can start doing stories on YT. I have so many fun challenges I want to do with my subs!
So hyang and Morissette are great female singer. I love your deep analysis, I bet when you react to Dimash it will be a half hour or even an hour video. He mastered all the vocal register from vocal fry to one of the highest whistle note that ever sung. He will change your perspective and understanding about vocal. SOS is a perfect start if you decide to start a journey with the best singer in the world 😉😎

6:54 the vocal cries are actually Mori's quickly tapping briefly into her whistle register. It is so easy for her to do it because she is very comfortable getting into the whistle register whenever she wanted to do it and there is nothing much we can do about it but appreciate and wonder, how TF did she do that?
this must be the example on how to explain and clarify about vocal tecniques and what so ever notes, not those MV with auto tunes. just my opinion. looking forward to reacts more singers esp. Filipino singers, they are 🔥🔥🔥 nice and great vocal analysis coach 💪🙌🇵🇭
I really like the way you give comments. Can see you're really a professional and a good teacher. Please make also a comment on Daneliya Tuleshova's "rise up" and "stone cold" in the voice kids. Thank you 🙂

For another performance worthy of dissecting you might try Dimash Kudaibergen's "S.O.S...." which was on the first episode of the Chinese TV show Singer 2017. He's from Kazakhstan and the song is from a French rock opera. He literally gained millions of Chinese fans overnight.
Great reactions to one of asia's singing goddesses, you should check out the 'queen' , S.Korea's soHyang. Either 'bridge over troubled water' or 'lean on me' or the more traditional 'arirang alone', all from the show 'immortal songs 2' she can however sing any genre, although gospel at heart, and she herself is responsible for the amazing arrangements of all the songs she performs

I didn't hear that from anyone. I heard morissette a lot and when she does that from doing high notes, her voice seems to tune down more immediately at the next note. Like swallowing saliva.
Love your honest reaction and super on point review. Keep on reacting to Morisette and other Filipino artists please! More power to your channel! New subs here!
