i cannot go down anything that fast I end up shaking and heart is racing after lol... It never gets better so I tend to always go down backwards.

You can also widen your stance and bring your feet in to slow down, as well as dragging you toe stop occasionally. T-stops can work as well.

This video is super helpful. A few days ago I got my first pair of skates and decided to try them out at a park. The hill didn’t seem that steep but I went so fast that I panicked and felt like if I tried to break I was gonna get hurt. I ended up flying into bushes and sprained my ankle. Now I know what I could have done differently.

I remember when I took a ski lesson they told us to zig zag if the hill was too steep. Then they took us to the intermediate hill 🤦🏽‍♀️ I made it zig zagging all the way down. I was scared...but it worked.
