On this video, I show you how to smoke a pork roast. I smoke 4 pork sirloin tip roast on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker using 4 different rubs. Pork roast make a great meal and is perfect for sandwiches like a Cuban sandwich. Total cook time on these roast was 3 hours. I smoked these pork roast for 1 hour at 225 and 2 hours at 275. The pellets I used on this cook were Cherry from B&B charcoal.

That is some nice looking pork & will most definitely make some sweet hot or cold sandwiches. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that cut at my local markets. I’ll need to inquire, it’s nice to have a variety proteins to smoke. I love herb rubs on pork, I’ll need to get some of the JP BBQ Sexy Chicken. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾.

Is that the same cut as a pork "loin"? Usually pork "loins" have a small fat cap on one side and are elongated but I can't find any info on pork "sirloin"

I am completely new to bbq'ing , I was wondering how do you know what to set your temperature to? And why change it up in the middle of the cooking time?

Great question. Always remember that 225 to 250 will get you a better smoke flavor than say 275. If I feel the food has gotten enough smoke, I'll crank up the temp to speed up the cooking time. I also like to crank the temp up to crisp up chicken.👍
