I just watched your resin test print video, and commented about light up wearables, only to go back and find THIS! I have that exact same soldering iron, too. I ordered a pack of different sized tips pretty cheaply for it from amazon, too, which made soldering some of those extra small LED pads a bit easier for me. (I swear some days those tiny little contact pads are actively dodging me!)

Yes! I am too lazy to change tips unless I'm doing hot cuts, but I'm so glad you're finding helpful info here

Can you share details about your actual soldering iron and solder? I've got electrical solder and a soldering iron, but it doesn't seem to heat up efficiently and melt the solder as well as yours. AND re-heating the solder is nearly impossible with what I'm using - this looks like heaven. Thanks!

Interesting! I did find that I had to use a slightly higher setting (4 on my 1-5 settings) to really get the solder the way I liked, and I found that through trial and error. I use the Weller 40 Watt station, which you can get here for pretty cheap: amzn.to/3vYKPdf

Hey! I put the battery in a hollowed out 'spike' that attached at each cardinal direction :)

Additional technique question, what’s your experience adding LED strips to fabric? I was prepared to sew on some 2mil foam as an anchor to attached the LED and defusing foam to, but was curious if you know of an easier way.

Depends how much the fabric will be moving. More movement means more tearing away. You can purchase some mesh to sew a little channel for it!

What’s your technique for attaching the diffusing foam? Are you able to use contact cement right over the LED strip?

Hi! You can contact cement right over the LED strip! That's what I do if I'm attaching it right to the lighting.
