Thank-you, you little whipper snapper.... i'm 70 years old... and am a Joe Pass (guitarist) freak... for years, i've played various standards...A-train, Misty, etc... and have worked out good chord melody versions... but ALWAYS play them exactly the same way.... constantly tweeking out each chord change with what i thought would be the coolest... drawing from piano, horn, guitarists... YOUR VIDEO...has put me on a better path, in thinking about being cognizant of scale degrees.... thanks man...

7:26 the flat 9 on any dominant implies diminished 7. That’s why it sounds the way it does.

This is one of the best educational video's on how to improvise on a jazz standard. I liked the thorough explanation of the structure of the piece, how the chords fit together and what techniques to use. Really great that you went by it note for note, explaining what kind of scale to use. You are a great teacher. And a true professional.

A bit newer to jazz, it would be helpful if you said the intervals of the scale instead of just playing it and assuming the viewer knows. Still a Helpful video though!
