Wow what an awesome vlog of jozi!!! I am from South Africa and you did an incredible job of painting Johannesburg in a positive light (when it often gets bad wrap). Thank you for bringing positive vibes to the city of Gold!!! You out did yourselves Phoebe and Matt...#nailedit.
African companies have grown and are now recruiting a large number of brokers. Besides the invitation bonus given by the brokers, the brokers are interested in chatting with me privately
This was so fun to watch! I was in Soweto in 2006 and this is such a vivid reminder of how incredibly welcoming the people are, how delicious the food is, and how fascinating the history and culture are!
This comment made me so happy! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time and experienced that same connection :) Stoked we could take you back there, even just for a few minutes on RU-vid!

I am a Joburger ( originally from Johannesburg) and I would just like to say how well you have showcased Jozi and how much guts you have to go into the city deep. Next time you need to go to Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton City. The market is in Braamfontein, not Bloemfontein. (Bloemfontein is about a 7hr drive from Joburg). Maboneng market is worth going to. If you are in the downtown area, don't go walking at all as it wont be safe!(Maybe go with a guide but still be careful).
Love your content 💚 showings of a true seasoned traveller, always up for new experiences, hope you enjoyed the diversity our beautiful country has to offer 🇿🇦 Hoop jy het dit geniet, lekker Suid-Afrika!🐘🐃🦁🐆🦏
Hi! Just learnt something about my mother tongue language. I didn’t know ‘burg’ was meant to say ‘city’, as we Dutch people use the word ‘stad’ to describe a city. You’re getting old Phoebe, calling yourself a senior already 😮. Your spirit is so young, I think you can count yourself as a young person regardless of your age 😊. I love the sense of humor your guide has 😂. Those African people have a kind of Caribbean vibe around them, always smiling and making fun, lots of food and music around. You convinced me to add a destination to my bucket list once again 😁. Thanks for sharing your days in Johannesburg and have a great week ahead 🤙
hahahaha thanks, Felix!! We had the BEST guides - they were both so funny (our driver, Malcom and Sindi, the guide). They just had us in stitches the whole time with their sense of humour and really helped us connect with the locals - it was such a special experience.
We had a really good time!! I still can't get over how good the food is in South Africa - blows me away every time. Amazing food and fantastic service - always!
Don’t worry my tribe hardly eats meat so not all will think you’ll starve 😂. Made my American friends and in laws try chicken feet and yummy tripe at that amazing buffet in Soweto ❤️. Loved the part where you said “We officially arrived, we made it guys, we are fancy” 😂😂😂
Wow ! Thank You for such a beautiful video from the best at showcasing the places to see. Sending you lots of love💖💖💖 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
Thank you for this video from a fellow Aussie. Seeing some Qantas flights on the cheap from Perth so wandering what there is to do in Joburg and this is perfect - thank you! ☺️
:) awww I hear you! I wish more people knew how wonderful it is to visit, it's such a special place with a lot of heart. The connection you get with the locals here is unmatched - just makes you feel so welcome and happy to be there.
Really great vlog! I've watched all three of the vlogs you did in SA, and I've learnt something in each of them. It really looks like you enjoyed your visit so much much more the first one, and with awesome company. I love the fact that Phoebe, Matt, Conrad and your other friends assimilated so well in your short time here. It's great to see people immerse themselves in the culture, the lingo and the cuisine. Why only have something that you can have back home, right? Looking forward to your other travels.
Wow... you've no idea how much we appreciate your comment. I was just reading it and got a text from Matt with a screenshot of it! He was so blown away by how kind, supportive and thoughtful it was :) Thank you so very much for taking the time to stop and write something so lovely - it truly meant the world to both of us and brightened our day! Hope you have the most wonderful week ahead, you wonderful human :) Phoebe x
Hi from 🇿🇦 ! Just came across your channel and I'm ❤ it! Thanks for showcasing SA 🙏🏻. Pity your stay was so short. Suggestion - how about adding in the best time of the year weatherwise for travelling to the various countries?
Thank you so much!! :) We LOVED this trip - it was so good to spend so much time with locals. The connection we had with the people we met made this trip so very special - everyone made us feel at home and so very welcome. It was an amazing experience.
Thank you so l have enjoy to see you are going some where actually episode over Africa is it so much amazing you are chatting with African men and women they are hospitality given smile with you and friendly from them thank you again.
In that episode of Canada so beautiful a long with nature of scene excellent splendid equipment high walk exciting fearful very much astonish heavenly who see its great never easy to happen it back thank you again
Try the Fourways Farmers market on Sunday near Montecasino and I think you mentioned Neighborgoods Market on Saturdays it’s in Braamfontein (JHB CBD) not Bloemfontein which is in Free State.
Hi Pheobe and Matt, it must of been awesome being there in Johannesberg. Seeing all the children and doing all the really cool stuff with them. Love it and hope to see some more sunshine coast videos and I'm also moving to the sunshine coast so I might see you there. Love Riley
Oh wow!! You're going to LOVE living on the sunshine coast, Riley! It's such a beautiful spot - sending you all our best wishes for the move :) Phoebe and Matt xx
Guys, me and my partner enjoy your videos so much, you have really inspired us to travel! Just one thing is that I think you put the music too loud sometimes during the cut scenes compared to the level you’re speaking in the videos (just wanted to give a bit of feedback)! Can’t wait to see your next adventure xx
Hey Isabel!! Thank you so much - can’t tell you how much we appreciate the support 😍 I hear you! Matt spends a lot of time balancing the sound and we usually test it on the computer, phone and our TV but over the years I’ve realised no matter what we do there are so many different devices out there it’s impossible for us to balance it perfectly for every device type 😊 I know myself when I stream a show on the TV at home the talking can be low and then the music parts can blast me out the room 😂 and that’s professional TV sound mixers! We do our best, sorry if there are moments of it being too loud 🙏🏼😊 Phoebe x
@@travelforphoebe I understand ❤️ yes I thought it might be because of the different devices! Thank you so much for your reply, as I say we love your videos, keep doing what you’re doing and I can’t wait to see where you go next on your journeys!❤️❤️
That's a good question.... You know, I've not ever noticed South African restaurants around Brisbane. There could be some but maybe I've got my local blinkers on and just stick to the things I usually do!
We’ve only visited with a guide and driver and that’s been fantastic! Just so easy and means we’ve been able to see and do lots without having to think about it or plan it
