To be fair I think the large reason you hear about the landing gear issue with BF109 a lot more than the spitfire is purely because all of the luftwaffe pilots seem to be more critical of their equipment in general and they mention this a lot when interviewed, the spitfire pilots do not really, spitfire pilots are normally more worried about the poor armament.

The Spitfire IXe has two 20mm Hispanos with 140 rpg and two 0.5 inch M2 Browning machine guns with 250 rpg. Plenty of firepower available to knock down five or more German fighters per sortie if you know where to aim and fire only in short bursts.

You should try the Spitfire in msfs 2020. It is a beautiful model with clickable cockpit, which makes the startup process a bit more interesting.

You can land the Spitfire with brakes full on in IL2GB with no adverse consequences, provided you have the RPM in the 1000 - 2000 range and the stick pulled all the way back. In other simulators this will cause the plane to stand on its nose, if not actually tumble end over end.

I noticed that too and was a bit disappointed, but then i landed a P51D and that one DOES nose in, in true 1946 style. I'm guessing its not modeled properly in the Spit, or is it possible that the British brakes were that much weaker?

Holding the brakes on helps a lot to stop a ground loop after landing in the IL2GB Spit but agree the ground handling and brakes are likely not fully accurate

Too bad a video so invested does not pay attention to details like the darkness in the cockpit - I do not see anything in the cockpit everything is black
