How to Spool a Baitcaster Reel (Tips & Tricks) 

I’m so happy you put this out, I consistently screw this up and end up taking my reels to Bass pro for them to spool.

Great info. I have the Berkley portable line spooling station I bought three years ago. I didn't move my line from right to left while I was reeling line on my reel, sometimes it was higher on the right side or higher on the left side of the reel. After awhile it would level out bye itself. It would still cast great

I run the line through an Armor Al wipe, makes it nice and slippery!!

Great tip. I add the extra step of running my line through the center of an old, thick phone book. I spray the center pages with line treatment.

Very good, I would like to see the box how it is cut out to hold the spool. Hardest thing to do. I never thought of a rag with silicone but from experience I know over spooling results in back lashes.

Awesome video brother. I have one that I'm fixing to spool .this was awesome. Could you make a video of the knot that you prefer. There so many out there. I have arthritis in both of my hands and sometimes it hard for me to tie them. Thanks again.

I use a slip knot with a over hand knot on the tag end. Pull tight on the spool and no slippage. Works for me.

I use the water truck as well. They key on a casting reel is to make sure the line is tight when putting it on!

I like to soak the line, especially mono, in warm water to help get rid of memory. What do you think about that technique?

What about me . I bought a kastking . Got it for 25 new. . And out of all of my baitcasters this is the only one where my line is not going on. Even I don't understand why I'm making sure I hold it level. I'm making sure that it's not too tight. Just I'm new to bass fishing so please help anybody.

what knot do you tie from the backing line to your main line? Thanks

If your rod tip is past the line spool. It’s now coming off the bottom of the spool…. Does it really make a difference or is it a head game?

What weight mono for backing should you use

hey mike i am having trouble with my line getting loose when casting but i applied tension to it when spoiling do you have any idea why it’s doing that? i have my reels adjusted to the lure im using as well!

Off the top but reeling under. Lol that aint right. Memory is the other way you want line coming off the spool keeping the line same way it was to go on the reel. You making a figure 8 not a reel to reel.
