The best Rolex 1:1 clone Submariners are getting harder and harder to spot. So this is how to spot a fake Rolex. And what to look out for on a counterfeit Rolex and stop you getting scammed by a Folex. #rolex #BarkAndJack #FakeRolex
Cancel ziarex and mega clone watches. They are destroying the whole community of original watches and becoming a threat to the economy and dignity of Rolex.
In the end, a new era of watches has come. Some illegal company from EU started making mega clones called ziarex. Basically, what they are doing is buying original parts from workers in Rolex who flag that part as damaged and sell them. But thats not the
If you could own a replica Lamborghini for 30,000 $ and it was just as fast , had the same horse power , same built quality and only the dealership could tell that it was not real , would you buy one ? That’s the real question
@@alfredough Why pay more money just for a brand when a Chinese guy in his backyard can make the same thing? Why do you worship corporations like Rolex,
After owning a GMT and OP for almost 10 years I wanted to get myself a Hulk for my 60th birthday, about 2 weeks later I came across a page about high end clones and decided to give it a try. Once came I compared it to my original GMT (in terms of quality, feeling of the steel etc), I understood one thing, China can't be beaten. There is no chance ANYONE will be able to spot it as a fake, Even the inside movement is identical. The build quality and finish put a lot of legitimate Swiss brands to shame.
Oh my God, I am so happy to hear this here, I got introduced to Mr. Alberto some two weeks ago, it still feels like a dream, so far I have made over $7,000 trading with him, at this rate I am sure I am on my way to becoming a millionaire.
I had a great watch buying experience with Sheldon this week. He responded quickly to my inquiries and shipped the watch out immediately. It even arrived one day sooner than expected. Thank you for being excellent to work with. Would do business with you again in the future.
Adrian you’re right I’ve seen this video before! It is worth watching again to help us clarify fake from real . Thanks again for putting out excellent content. Watch lover from across the pond .
I bought a clone Rolex in Shanghai for $700 and took it to the Rolex store whilst still in Shanghai. I asked the sales lady to check it and tell me if it was fake. She observed the movement, felt the weight, even looked at the serial number and later informed me it was real (Provided she never opened opened the watch to closely inspect the movement.) So they must have improved their quality as I left the store laughing to myself as I honestly couldn't believe it.
@@BarkandJack Rolex boutiques or Rolex authorized dealers don't open watches ever and don't really inspect them too much. they send it to their service centers and there your watch will be confiscated and destroyed.
I wore a rolex daytona replica a few years ago. And it caused a few people around me to be impressed looking at my watch from afar. But I'm always honest, when someone came to me and told me that I have a really nice watch. I just told them that it's actually fake and I got it for $30. I'm not trying to impress anyone, or making people think I'm posh or into luxury items by fooling them with a fake Rolex. I just like how the watch looks. It was an automatic movement and lasted 8 years on my wrist. I only stopped wearing it when I accidentally dropped it and the entire movement was broken. So I end up switching to a genuine Longines Conquest Classic which looks similar to the Daytona.
To be honest, an invicta pro diver has the same effect on people. It looks nice at a glance, it gets compliments, and when people ask what it is I can just say what it is. I don’t have to lie or explain that it’s fake.
Agree with everything apart from the smoothness of the winder especially on the older models. I purchased two Submariner 16610 in the early nineties and they were definitely not smooth to wind or change date. I had the same with a ladies Rolex in 1997 all went back to Rolex to be sorted but were never that smooth.
This is excellent. Before I retired, as a retired senior Customs Officer in the UK I saw many, many fake Rolex watches and over time they got better but there are still differences, as your video shows. I will never forget the face of passengers who correctly came to declare their new Rolex at the airport and we identified the fake they had unwittingly bought.
@@majordelays4909 It is only illegal to import counterfeit items commercially. Within limits, You can bring in a single fake for personal use. Expensive watches have to be declared, cheap watches are of little interest, subject to the comment about commercial use. I don't follow your question about declaring a loss, sorry.
@@Crusty_Camper thanks for your response. I was meaning if they paid £16k for a bargain Daytona (Greytona if you will) then they presumably have a loss of £15.5k in value, I was being a little flippant in all honest but wondering if they could class that as a loss (capital gains).
What do you mean they came to declare it at the airport? lets say they went to china for vacay bought a fake one and tried to declare it as real ? or they just ordered it through a website which wasn't based in the EU. sorry for my bad english :)
I would watch videos of you reading the instructions that come with Ikea furniture. Great content, thanks! Love your Kermit by the way, it's honestly better with the scratch in the bezel. Just adds character!
What I learned from this video is that it would be utterly pointless for me to waste my money on a real Rolex, because I can barely tell any difference, and the few differences I can actually spot, I just don't care about ... certainly not enough to waste thousands of my hard-earned money.
I think you've missed the point. If you don't care about spending the money, there are very nice watches at almost any price point. It's more about being a poser and contributing to the theft of a high end brand's intellectual property. Why not buy a nice Seiko 5 or something if you don't personally see the value in more expensive watches? Seiko has a LOT of great stuff.
Lol at The discount code - have you actually looked the prices that these clowns are trying to charge people ?……great that you’ve done a video helping people spot fakes , ironic that you’ve then pointed them towards your sponsor who will happily rip them off …..90k for a John Mayer Daytona ….wow ….that’s only about 33 percent higher than market price …..platinum baguette Daytona - 130k ? about 20k over priced. Frightening .
Scalper is as scalper does. How ironic that this channel drives us in the direction of scalpers? Who are the crooks now: the purveyors of unabashedly outright fakes or scalpers trying to take the mickey out of you? Nobody gets to buy any watches from ADs because scalpers are the ADs' "preferred customers" and get them first leaving nothing for others. It is a collusion to create artificial scarcity through hoarding. Rolex Geneva are to be blamed for this because they allow the same few preferred customers aka scalpers to buy the watches again and again ad infinitum.
My uncle, on a trip to Mexico, was stopped by a street vendor selling Rolex watches. The watches were for sale at 9 dollars (USA). Superficially the watches were made to resemble Rolex watches in appearance with the heft of case and band. Amused, knowing that these watches had to be fake, my uncle bought one of them. When he took the watch home, he laughed at his purchase for even the name Rolex was misspelled 'Rolix' on the watch face. Nevertheless he often wore that watch, being careful not to get it wet; and amazingly its cardboard works kept fairly good time. He still breaks out that watch time to time to tease or test someone.
Tons of authentic Rolex’s have blue AR under the crystal. There’s actually 2 types of crystal variations from the watches I’ve purchased over the years (3 genuine GMTs from the same AD). This is not indicative the watch is fake. Sloppy magnification? Yes.
1. Gens are known to have blue tint as well 2. Gen rehaut is not always necessarily lined up 3. 1:1 high end reps cost ~$500 4. Newest repilca movements can be directly replaced with gen parts 5. Fully franken'd reps with fully replaced movements, dials, and hands cost around $3-5k. This seems like a lot, but not when your paying 10% of buying a new one. Respect for reps, gen is always better
@@AZEOforreal i swear that i saw a comparative online and the rep had many many things that were actually more refined than the gen, is crazy how good they are now!
@@mrs1986 Yep and it shows how much these watches could be made for and still draw a profit. There are many watch channels where they take offense at the idea that a lot of the price of swiss watches is because of market speculation and as a store (and show) of wealth...they insist it is a real reflection of the cost of high horology. Well then, how can you copy one, even improve some parts and make a profit on a few hundred dollars?
The problem there are so many arguments on social media platforms are : people try to be smart, telling others they are right the others are wrong. Case in mind, if you think fake is good, get one and stop telling the genuine owners they are stupid for wasting money. Likewise, do not try to educate others for being unethical wearing fake watches. It will be a more peaceful world if everyone is humble .
I bought a high end replica for 500 bucks and it’s super solid. I use it everywhere without worrying about scratching it and so on . Has sapphire/ ceramic and everything else like original . Starbucks 41mm . No way in hell would I pay double retail price . So this was the best option ,
Adrian - Love the content in all your videos; keep up the great work. Just curious about your choice of video sponsor (won't mention name), they appear to get good praise from you and other YT creators. Still, I find them incredibly unresponsive to email and phone inquiries, making it very difficult to trust them as a reputable dealer. Based upon online reviews, I don't appear to be the only one with this experience. I realized this might be a difficult topic for you to provide feedback, but I wanted to get your thoughts and let you know if you weren't aware.
You forgot to add, if a watch is old and hasn’t been serviced in a long time, winding the crown can also feel pretty bad. It is still a genuine watch. Just needs servicing.
Excellent video, thank you. I learned I’m risking buying a Rolex from a private seller when every fake you showed tricked me 🤦🏻♂️ definitely need to have it in your hand to really tell when your inexperienced at all the other tells.
This video helps me a lot actually. I don't and have no need to wear a wristwatch. While viewing this video I realised that I can never be exposed to the world of fake watches, nor genuine examples either and so minimising stress living on planet Earth - one less thing to worry over.
@Daniel Brice oh yeah I forgot. You'll only get robbed for your real or fake Rolex. Even more reason to get literally any other much better watch for less.
I have a lot of knowledge about the high end replica industry and there is not a single GS replica that would fool anyone knowing what it is. That is why I own one too.
So the only way to truly ensure you are buying a real Rolex is to get one from an AD... but you can't unless you are on a "list" and willing to over pay. 🤔
Thanks for taking time and enlightening the viewers. I have seen some super clones from Ziarex which are impossible to distinguish from the real ones . I believe , Rolex is moving towards precious metals because of this reason .
There is only one great advantage to the best fakes out there. They show you straight away that a rolex isn't worth it's RRP price let alone grey market
This goes for any major brand but I agree with you. The reps are literally 1:1 these days, only disadvantage is you cant resell them for more like the legit ones
I was once gifted a rolex for 3 years i took special care keeping it ,i even use to avoid wearing in crowded area and then i was told its $300 replica 😁 but it was fun as i am not found of wearing brands so never noticed anything
1.37. Absolute Shocker. Why do people part with north of £7k for these average at best watches. Beyond me. I guess Rolex rest on their laurels these days.
Could you do a video on the different tiers of fake Rolex? My fake submariner (gifted to me 10 years ago and still working fine) seems to be a much better copy than the one featured in your video and I'm wondering if it's worth anything. One thing you didn't mention was the easy link adjustment on the bracelet. My fake doesn't have easy link adjustment, but for that, my bracelet seems to be really well copied and the crown logo etch at 6 o'clock on the crystal was very difficult to spot even with magnifying glass, but it's there. Thanks for the info on the line-up of the R's and X's with hour marks - mine definitely failed that test.
When I was in High School, I was about 17 years old, I was given a fake Rolex. I thought at the time if they have the skills to make a fake Rolex, why not just make a legitimate watch. I believe my fake Rolex fell apart in about a year which answered that question. But, fake Rolexes have come a long way.
About the movement being smooth and buttery while being interacted through the crown-- you need to take the age of the watch into account. My 14-year old datejust has started showing some signs of aging (it still is a great watch, don't get me wrong), and it is not as smooth as my other, newer watches. 3135 is known for small jumps of minute hands while setting which makes it difficult sometimes to accurately set the time.
@@multiblade04 it literally never stops moving. Would you let a car go that long without refreshing the lubrication? A quick cleaning and re-lubrication isn't uncalled for after a decade and a half.
if you have a good relaionship with an AD you'll never have to wait that long. I bought a Deep Blue in April 2017, my first conversation with the AD was October 2016.
I'll be honest, I bought pretty much this exact fake watch, really to see if I wanted to buy the real thing. I didn't in the end and got a GMT Master II Black. I still use the fake on holiday and it keeps great time and has no issues with salt water or the pool.
Yeah, youtubers always leave out the important part when make Fake watch content: people buy fakes knowingly and willingly because they want to up their image! And most fakes, I’m speculating, are sold as fakes anyway… To be a devils advocate: maybe fakes are what takes to change the status quo we have with perceived “shortage”. Flood the market with good fakes, so the sport models are not desirable anymore. People like me, I paid 17k for “Cermit”, or investors will suffer the price drop, but I just don’t see how to change the status quo.
@@ChrisAlvarezAlvarezImaging yeah from memory one of the Chinese fucktoria's have made a 1:1 clone of the Rolex movement. Even to the point where counterfeit parts are interchangeable with genuine and vice versus. Ill wait for somebody else to chime in and confirm it to be 100% sure before taking it as gospel
@@mickeydee3595 You're referring to a movement that appeared as a 1:1. The regulator arm was hidden in a way making it look genuine, yet incredibly hard to regulate. The factory was raided and shut down a few months ago but many others are copying the technique as of August. At this point the only "tell" in a super clone is whether or not the balance spring is blue.
Hi Adrian, its a great video and I found it very informative. However, I would like to bring to your attention about the cyclops lens. I recently picked up a Submariner (and I know for a fact that its genuine cos I managed, finally, and thanks to damn good luck, got it from my Authorised Dealer Hour Glass in Singapore. The Submariner Cyclops Anti Reflective coating has a slight blue tinge to it, and its not completely clear. Perhaps its due to the 2023 version 126610LN? What are your thoughts on this?
I loved the intro before and it still made me laugh today! You are indeed a Horological Superhero! The only pause for thought is you must wear your underpants over your trousers! A challenging look I feel! 😂
Whoever runs swissarex just spams their bots on basically every video relating to fake watches on youtube. Which is funny because even though I've tried I couldn't find the actual website they're all promoting.
wow u have make an excellence point about cyclops coating which few or noone has mentioned before . Clear coating is very hard to formulate like most of the camera lens which always carry a tint of somekind . the more clear , the more expensive coating . If it has a bluish tint on the cyclop . It's very likely a fake
I do garage sales and in the last couple years I've found 5 fake Rolex watches. The only reason the people sold them was they stopped working. I paid from $1 to $3 each as I recall. There seem to be tons of them out there. Most buyers are "middle class" people who really couldn't care less about having a genuine Rolex. Some even joke about their "Chinese Rolex." After studying the situation I no longer think most fake Rolex buyers are trying to fool anyone. I think it's more about laughing at people who waste so much money on a vanity item. They're mocking the wealthy or those who are pretending to be rich.
If you've got 600 pounds in your pocket then the Steinhart ocean one 39mm premium in 904 steel is a better shout! Not everybody's "cup of tea" , but, good finishing and movement.
If people are happy lying to themselves, the problem is their own. I bought my genuine Rolex years ago and if I ever needed to prove it, have the full set, paperwork and receipts. The idiots can't 😄
More reasons to get a Grand Seiko now, highly doubt anyone besides Grand Seiko themselves can produce product at such precision and quality....What a shame for Rolex
Yup, the detail and movement of a Grand Seiko is so difficult to replicate that nobody has tried. You might get cheap and awful ones but the higher end rep makers just don't bother.
Safest way is to not buy a Rolex, period. Even real rolex watches are "fake" luxury + mass produced watches... They are also "fake" tool watches with minimal or no AR coating.
Yup, that is my recommendation as well. Desire is an acquired thing that is cultivated in us by ads and influencers. We are groomed to want these things. You can just as easily "unacquire" it by not desiring it. Problem solved. There is no status value in a Rolex if you do not value a Rolex as an object that has any meaningful import. I put the money in the stock market instead.
You have convinced me that spotting a fake rolex / other watch is so difficult and uncertain - that anyone would be a fool to buy an original - as you could never be sure. Youd pay 8-20x the price and still never really know. Why bother? Whilst Id always want an original - this video has taught me I could never be sure - they are just too good now
reps are just too good for the amount you save. This one has a rather poor finished movement as well, and maybe not 1:1 cloned. But in the same $600 tier of reps, you can get much nicer cloned movements with high detail finishing.
Thank you Adrian. I love Rolex and I'm on a list for the Pepsi at the moment. My Dad bought me a 1603 in 1975 - £206 at the time. If that watch had increased with inflation it would today be £1800. Try and buy a steel Rolex datejust for that today! I hope Rolex are not going along the 'Patek' route and trying to price out the normal punter as some experts think.
And do you think that they improved their watchmaking quality a hundred times since then? Because they are charging about 100 to 200 times as much as back then. All these Swiss watchmakers would have gone out of business thanks to quartz if they hadn't reinvented themselves as "luxury toy factories" for bimbo proles. The reason why you are paying these ridiculous prices is artificial shortage. 2500-3000 would be a realistic price for such a watch. Why? The Chinese can make a perfect copy and sell it to you at half that price for a good profit, that's why.
And herein lies the problem of identifying fake watches (not just Rolexes). Unless you are 3 inches away, have a good quality loupe, and the genuine watch right next to you, it is almost impossible to identify a fake from 3-6 feet away when worn on the wrist. Especially when the wrist is in motion. AB could be wearing a fake on his wrist during this recording and there is no way to tell (However, I don't believe he is).
Ok. so idk about Rolex. but with JLC you literally get an online login details associated with your watch serial number. So you can can be sure it's a real thing... You can also transfer the serial number to someone else if your decide to sell your timepiece.. Can't they just do that? this is the 21st century.
@@TravisGondo that’d only work for new watches.. the ones in circulation now won’t be able to just suddenly be traceable.. the ones with paperwork and COAs perhaps
This video makes an excellent tutorial for anyone contemplating watch work. Of course less complicated items are more straightforward. The tiny lever springs are capable of flying off into the distance without careful handling. The person handling the watch was obviously very experienced, however, I would suggest anyone starting out places springs , cocks and screws into their individual groups, time consuming but avoids puzzles later.
Be aware when ordering from a website🤔 Often they use images of real watches, but what you get is often a bad copy. Also be aware about reviews, because also reviews can be made up reviews from the seller themselves.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as the saying goes. Flaunt your Homage with pride. Rolex Geneva deserve their comeuppance for creating this situation of artificial scarcity afforded to scalpers. How are scalpers able to get their hands on Rolex watches when the ordinary man can't? I can only conclude that the ADs are in collusion with scalpers, splitting profits between them.
I sold my sub.mariner when I was strapped for cash. Exactly one year ago Amazon Warehouse Deals had a “LIKE NEW” sub mariner for $13,000 (normally $16,500 and now $18,500). When it came it was wrapped in shrink wrapped plastic with no hologram on the back. I figured the $3,000 discount was worth a shot, to save sales tax. What I think happened was someone paid $500 for a fake and returned it as genuine with one they had ordered, and Amazon never verified it when they accepted the return and tried to resell it.
In the mid 90s as a young man I visited a Singapore market - someone asked if I wanted a Rolex. Took me into a room with multiple glass cabinets chock full of “Rolex”, every design you could imagine for about 20 dollars. I picked up a two tone datejust, known today as an “uncle watch” in Asia. Within weeks I hated it, scratched no itches and kept horrible time. Never again lol. Looks like they are a bit more fancy today, but even back then they would fool anyone not looking with a loupe - regardless, they still scratch no itches.
