Just don't be putting your pickle in my beer. Personally I love hot pickles in beer. This southern arky been doing it since I was a teen. My buddies thought it was weird till they tried it.
I have to try the pickle in the beer thing. I love pickles. I am a born and raised 10 th generations Texan but apparently I drink like a Midwestern. I love bloody Mary's that are a full meal also. LOL ❤
I'm from the Midwest and never realized I say it reflexively, until someone pointed out that it's a Midwestern thing to me. I also cannot turn it off, it just happens.
Weird. I have lived my entire life in the Midwest only to discover I am not a Midwesterner now. I don’t do any of those things. Ok, I have worn a hat, but generally only in the winter. And back in my college days, I did do some morning drinking once or twice (Smurf party anyone?)
I like to fish and I will talk about the weather when I don’t know what else to talk about with an acquaintance or a stranger. I will also give you directions to anywhere except my house.

I lived in Wausau, Wisconsin for only eight years, but it definitely sunk in, dontcha know. Now I’m in South Carolina looking for snow and cheese curds. All I can find is boiled peanuts. Really, really good!
Back in 96 me and a bunch of my buddies went out west to Colorado and Wyoming on vacation for about 2 weeks. We lived on V8 Bloody Beers and Taco Bell. We were young, and yes, we are from Iowa.
Facts!! We had like 3 seperate Jackson family trees in my small cluster of small towns. There were the Jackson's that lived between Town A and Town B. They weren't at all related to a kid in my grade that lived outside of Town C. And he wasn't at all related to this other Jackson family that was in the same town as him. And they weren't related to the first Jackson family.

Well I can relate to the travel shirt collection, though I lost my Tennessee Eclipse shirt due to the school custodian thinking it was just a random bag that no one threw away, while I was working on a cabaret for my school's choir. My grandparents are from The Region part of Indiana and back when they were in school, there was a guy named Paul who shared the last name with my grandpa at the time, they were unrelated, but they did like to do Smothers Brothers skits since that was the big thing then. My grandparents did name a son of theirs Paul though, he currently lives in Chicago.
My grandfather had the last name of Herr So he was the original Mister Mister when he moved here from Germany. He picked a different name when he moved to America I used to go to track meets in high school and they would announce the winners of the events .I used to win most sprints. The expected an Asian person but I was a white guy with the last name of Dow
I mostly agree... I require a massive coffee from the QT, Sheetz, or the Speedway prior to drinking a morning beer. And out of respect, I remove both my hats whenever I enter a Red Lobster or a Cheddars.

Grew up in the Midwest but now live in the south but one thing I realized is all Midwestern folks seem to wear clothes one size to big. Seem to always have baggy clothes. I also was the same way when living there so I’m guilty of it to.
Ask for a spotted cow knowing full well they don't have it then remind them you have it at your local bar then ask for a Pabst then saw aww geez when they don't have that.
Beer and clam is called a red eye great breakfast beer. If I'm not mistaken a bloody Mary /Caesar here in Canada usually has vodka, whiskey and or jin and all the fixings. Beer and spear delicious choice.
I should be a midwesterner. I do all that, minus the chain restaurant, it does make sense. But being a city boy, when i do these thing, everyone thinks im crazy. I hate city life with a passion.

Damn in the winter i wear a ball cap under my trapper hat. That way i can take the hot hat off in walmart and just wear my ball cap. The rest of the year its my cowboy hats. Pickles are great with beer. This the first time I've heard anybody but me doing it. Born and raised in Arkansas an hour from the southern border. Never been any further north than ok city and find out im a midweasterner.
Super common last name and all the people in the town with my last name I wasn't related to OR I wasn't related to them via a common male ancestor. One example was my Grandpa's maternal aunt happened to marry a Robinson who was unrelated to the Robinson my Great Grandmother married. I can confirm that level of relationship too thanks to 23andme lmao.
Beer with a pickle is pure Minnesota and I think it's disrespectful to the beer. Being from Wisconsin the only thing that belongs in a beer is more beer.
My pops grew up outside Chicago and I even was from there until 3-4 when pops moved us out here for some reason but yep… we were the only family to enjoy Bloody Mary’s and mimosas with brunch regularly while everyone else would ask if my parents were “ok”

There are a lot of similarities between the Midwest and rural PNW. I moved to Oregon almost 20 years ago. Also why a lot of us midwesterners moved here.
