How to spot - identify a FAKE Pokemon Blue (for the Gameboy Classic)

Hello everyone
In this video I will be showing how spot/identify a fake Pokemon Blue. I am doing this video for educational and entertainment purposes.
If unsure please always refer to the manufacturers/retailers instructions on how to properly use and assemble the product. In order to avoid damaging the product.
In case you wonder, below you can find the recording equipment I use:
- Camera: Canon M50
- Lens 1: Canon EF-M 22M
- Lens 2: Canon EF-M 15-45MM
- Mic 1: Takstar SGC-598
- Mic 2: BOYA BY-M1
- Digital recorder: Tascam DR-05X

I always ask before I buy if it‘s a fake or a real card and normally am very careful. Accidently bought three fakes. Well, guess this has to happen once. Now I at least know to ask them to send pics of the inside too.

Hi Dinche, Thank you for your comment. In general Pokemon games of that Era, will eventually become more scarce to find and the price will go up, that will lead people to make very good copies and try to scam people. Its cheaper to buy a fake Pokemon from Ali express for 3-4$ and then swap the broken original chip/motherboard to the genuine housing cartridge. You will never know that the inside its fake, and because the outer case is original you'll have the impression the inside is as well. Everyone talks about the outer case details and graphics, but what about the actual motherboard. As you said, you will fall for it once and then learn from it the hard way.

the usa version looks almost like the fake one but the cannon shows half not fully. i still have the one my mom bought when i was a kid

Hey today I found a blue version from a stock shop by luck I have box and manual but my game it's Grey and I can't find smt like that

Hey, if the case is grey , there are two things: 1- Its a Japanese version like the one I have on the video 2- Its a fake reproduction You can upload a photo on imgbb.com/ and comment the link and I can have a look if you like. Also, the case might be fake, so it worth's to open it and the check if the motherchip inside its genuine, like the ones I have on my video.

Ok mine as all good lighting and stuff but the screw is at the top but thhere is still a small hole where it is ment to be is this fake?

Is it safe to buy pokemon yellow or blue without seeing chip if owner dosent have tool but the back of cartridge has screw in proper place or have the fakers make fake screw holes in right place?

Mine just cuts out after jiggleypuff hits gengar and there is half a chip I know it’s fake but is that why it’s not working

Hey Mike, you never know what you get with the fake ones, sometimes they can be as good as the real and sometimes the complete opposite. Its like buying a pair of fake Nike shoes, they look the same, but they dont feel the same.

Is the Pokémon games originals do Pokémon moves cost pp I have several copies that were sold to me that I was told was originals, but there’s no Pp costs I can see
