Even before I watch the vid, I know the 16k slope MP3s do to 'abuse' the audio bandwidth (22050 = CD Nyquist, 22050 - 16000 = 6050Hz chopped out the file = 27% file saving) then all the other 'messing' MP3s does with content that's "not there" to save on file size..... pretty destructive. In laymens..... WAV = CD = 'bit for bit' purely reproduceable when re-recording, Mp3 is like your C90 cassette tape. Even tried some tests where a fellow DJ (MissRepresent) found that her mixes using MP3s sounded worse on playback and couldn't find out why.... MP3 when re-recording (like dj sets) reintroduce new noise again and again.. so by recording mp3 to mp3 you can actually get degradation even with the digital file (tape to tape to tape to tape style.... by pass #4 it sounds dread awful for MP3). WAV to WAV recording doesn't do this so again another reason why not to use MP3s as a sample source (ok for mock placements but be better to replace as soon as possible for a true WAV, and not an MP3 to WAV converted because of the lossyness the WAV would bit for bit replicate from the source file). Great vid as always Owen keep up the good work bud

Off topic, but do you know where the "everybody come on, let's go!" sample from Liquid Crystal - You Got Me is from?

They won't sound right or authentic if you make them yourself, unless you want to be unique / different of course but if you're trying to be authentic, get the free VST - RaveGenerator 2
