Mark, you missed one critical adjustment that I consider a Dewalt design fault. The scale for the bevel is riveted in place and can be out of adjustment even with the blade set correctly. To adjust the scale I first set a correct 45 degree angle. I then placed a flat blade screwdriver between the scale and the base and turned the screwdriver, forcing the scale to slide on the rivet, until it read correctly - mine was a whopping 2 degrees off! This will also affect the 0 degree reading so care must be taken. Check both sides and the center of the scale for accuracy. Once set, I used some CA glue to keep things from moving around due to vibrations and temperature changes. Anyone who owns this saw needs to check the bevel scale!

Appreciate that, man. Helps a ton. This'll help put me at ease when I'm worried my cuts aren't quite square.

Do you use the same nut that you used to adjust the 90 degree for the 45 degree bevel adjustment. I couldn't see what you did to adjust the 45 degree.

Love the video and clear explanation to make the adjustments. It might have been helpful to include which direction to turn the bolts to make adjustments. Also the fence adjustments on this unit might have been useful as well. Have used Your company several times and have been very pleased with service and shipping. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos.

Hello, I was following the video to true the bevel angles. At some point I must have got something wrong as the saw will not bevel more than ~5 degrees before it hits a stop going clockwise, and ~20 degrees counter clockwise. No amount of adjustment of the 0-bolt or the 45bolt/plugs changes this. Its like it is hitting a different stop inside the pivot. Can you advise? Could I have broken something. ? I have the DW708 Model 3 of course Thank you poolz50.

Hello and thanks for the helpful video. I have this saw and will check the adjustments like you clearly show. However, my table is not square to the fence and there is no adjustment that I can see so I have tried using shims between the two fence parts to pivot the fence square. Do you have any other SUGGESTIONS? Jack O

Interesting video but not of much real help. Following the instructions in the video I have a perfectly aligned the left side on my saw but the right side is completely out of alignment. The problem, if it is a problem, is the right side of the fence does not align perfectly with the left side of the fence. Since the fence is one piece I see no way to align the sides to each other. My assumption, though not mentioned in the documentation, is to align the "working" side of the fence for the final cut. For example, I need to make a left side cut. I will rough cut the piece (1/4 to 1/2" long) then tightly align the left side of the fence. Yes, an extra step but I always check the alignment on all my power cutting tools before making that first finish cut. Are both side suppose to align perfectly?

I have a question about a more involved realignment. My Delta 12" sliding saw was almost perfect condition, until I set it to 45 degrees (without sliding the right side, aluminum back support out of the way), and then "BAM" Now when the saw is set to 90 degrees, the rear of the blade is 10 thou to the left and the front of the blade is 10 thou to the right. Is there anything I can do?

I HAVE A DW 716 BEVEL SAW, 12 INCH AND WHEN SET AT 0 DEGREES MITER USING A WIXEY GAUGE I AM 0 DEGREES PERPENDICULAR AND WHEN I SWING THE BLADE TO 45 DEGREES EITHER SIDE, I AM 90.3 ON ONE SIDE AND 89.6 ON THE OTHER 45 DEGREES. I JUST INSTALLED A NEW WEAR RING TO NO AVAIL. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Mark--what does one do when the blade is square to the left fence but not square to the right one? Seems like that should be impossible, yet it's the case with my saw--one of the earlier models to the 708. Any ideas?

I've done this but when I cut a bevel the cut is not square. From front to back on a 2x4 (3.5" long cut) is is off by 1/8". It happens on both the left and right bevel cuts. The back of the cut is 1/8" to the left of the square line or to say it differently, from the front to back of the bevel cut the blade veers 1/8" to the left. How do I adjust this out of the saw?

Hi, not sure if you're sliding the saw using the rails. They too have an adjustment that I don't believe was covered here. Using a square against the fence, slide the blade forward. It should be square. If not, there are two allan keys adjustments on the top bracket that holds the top rail. It adjusts the bushing so the saw will track square when sliding.

Now check the right side and tell me it's square. I have the dw717 and it adjusts the same way. Adjust one side of the blade and it isn't square on the other. Took one back and got another and the same thing.
