How To Start 2014 - 2019 BMW 4 Series With Dead Key Fob - Remote Control: Engine Will Not Start 

A video tutorial on how to start a 2014 - 2019 BMW 4 series, including 418i, 420i, 428i, 430i, 435i and 440i, with a dead remote key fob battery. If your BMW 4 series coupe convertible or hatchback sedan remote fob key has a dead battery the DIC may display Remote Control: Engine Will Not Start when you attempt to start it.
To start a BMW 4 series with a dead remote key fob that is not starting the engine:
Hold the BMW key fob near the key markings on the right side of the steering column, then start the BMW as normal.
