Im healing just by watching this magic happen. Im so tired from work emotionally and physically. I just want to escape to this fantasy by painting magics everyday.
So I did what you said at the beginning and I chose colors that I like: pinks, purples, and teal and I started just putting the paint on the paper but as I did it I started seeing mountains and clouds and so instead of following along with you, I just tried to pick out those shapes… then I worked on adding details like yours at the end with the plants and it turned out sooo cool! I feel so accomplished having made something purely from my imagination. :) thank you for the inspiration!
I AM SO THRILLED to have found you. Your art is inspiring and etherial and truly magical. I did my own version of this in one of the pages of my current sketchbook - but when I start a new one, I am going to do something similar. I ADORE your style. Your calming voice too, make this so easy and relaxing to follow. I hope you add more of your beautiful art!
I will never get tired watching your YT videos on your painting, they look so soft and beautiful, vibrant colours and similar to watercolor. I uses watercolor for painting, i will attempt gouche one day, color looks more vibrant.
My goodness. There is talent and then there is talent. I could literally feel my heart speeding up at the magic that was flowing from your brush. Amazing!!!
'I want to give my waterfall some trees and bushes to keep it company.' 😂 I love such quotes by the true nature lovers. Dear Ruth, thank you for sharing the steps that make an incredibly beautiful magical painting. I definitely have page one nervousness but with this tutorial it seems surmountable. ❤🎨🖼️ And pointing out the brushes you use is also very helpful.
This tutorial is absolutely wonderful!! Loved every minute! This piece is so beautiful and surprisingly easy thanks to your instructions! Thank you for making beautiful art!
Stunning, calming, magical. I enjoy listening to & watching your posts. I've just "found" you and am excited to rewatch and follow along. I adore your style. Thank you!
This is very beautiful in its simplicity, and creates a magnificent atmosphere that is truly magical. Absolutely love it ❤️ thank you for sharing your stunning work with us 😊 ❤️.
I am aspiring to learn gouache painting because of how I am so amazed with the way an artist use it. I just don’t like how they draw before painting as I am a man of free spirit so I’d like my arts to be free of sketches and just go with the language of colors and your video is just exactly what I needed. My favorite thing is also an enchanted forest so I am really thankful I found your art! This is just really breath-taking!
Gorgeous 😍 I often struggle with confidence outside of photos or live subjects recreation. I will rewatch your video and I'll try it out. Just to relax and follow the general ideas you talked about. That said, I have watched all your videos but one and I can't wait for the next one. Thank you for the inspiration and pleasure watching your art and its presentation
This was incredible to watch. I had it on while painting myself and used some of the techniques already, but I definitely also want to do a big piece like this soon!
Hi! I've been trying to learn watercolors but kept finding some amazing gouache pieces. I'm wanting to try out gouache now and found your channel, your content is amazing! I was looking into your patreon page but was wondering, is it for beginners too? Or do you need some knowledge of gouache/painitng already to be able to follow along with the patreon content? Thanks so much for making these video's either way
Hey Jana! I’m just putting together a Gouache Boot Camp for all the basics and a free tutorial from Get Gouachey- these would be a great way to get started! Shoot me an email or a DM on Instagram with your email address and I’ll send you the link 💕
Just discovered your IG yesterday when I was testing out Gouache and Im so happy because your work is beautiful and magical! I can’t wait to get some brushes and get stuck into it :) 🥰 thanks for your videos as well. They’re super inspiring :) x
Just done this starting a new sketchbook for my new adventure into gouache. Its a great way to explore the feel of gouache and it also makes me want to use the book. It’s not the same as I included yellow as part of the base and did the trees black. But copied the general idea quite a lot. So happy with it. Thank you for sharing. I have subscribed and will get your gouache course this week. ❤ xx
I love to try this even though I have no artistic skills! Are Arteza gouache work? I can’t afford Windsor &newton. They are so expensive unfortunately. I could do the background ok but not sure about the forest. This painting is beautiful. I have to try this ❤
Hi my friend. Thanks for the great video you shared with us. very interesting video really great thank you for sharing the video please keep in touch. Keep posting the videos I follow, .💖💗 .💖.💗.💖 ,.
I wish I could get to that stage of producing art. I can replicate pretty much anything. But to just add a plant? Or waterfall? Not there yet, lol. Not even sure how to get there.
I really loved this video! So inspiring! However I am new at gouache and lanscapes so whenever I try to sit down and paint something I come up blank (actually it's the same for whatever I try to paint, I just stare at a blank page and end up just closing the book again. I am really struggling to paint anything these days). Do you have any website recommendations for some inspirational pictures to use as reference? I tried using pinterest but most of the time I am struggling to find something close to what I am looking for.
Hey Rebecca! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊 For reference photos I like to use Unsplash or ones I've taken myself. I will also combine things from multiple photographs if I cant quite find what I'm looking for. Hope this helps! 💕
I was wondering, when you layer down gouache on the first layer of gouache this activates the first layer because the second layer is wet. How come this is not happening in your video?
Hey Pippi, using cold press cotton paper helps so much with this! The paint can sink into the surface a little and the paper is very thirsty and quickly sucks all the moisture out of the paint- it takes more water to reactivate gouache on this type of paper, which makes layering much easier!
I can’t help but notice you have two jars of water. Why? Why bother with two if you’re going to muddy them both up with color? It seems the entire point of having TWO jars of water has been completely lost on the majority of YT water-media painters. One jar if water is to clean the brushes. The other is for CLEAN water in order to keep colors from muddying up. The worst thing is that people new to watercolor or gouache are looking to you all for guidance, lessons and best practices and are getting bad habits in with the mix.
