If you are playing on easy, go into the settings menu - there will be a setting for gas - I believe there are two settings. low and default

Does also work with cultivating. Don't need to plow for that. And when using a front cultivator, you won't even need care wheels and can have your seeder for the new crop at the back. Should you wish to do this on a field that needs plowing, then put a subsoiler between tractor and seeder (then you cultivate with your front implement for the fertilizing state, then subsoil for the plowed state and finally seed (plus maybe fertilze a second time if needed with a fertilizing seeder) and you get your field turned in one run and only have to take care about weeds until harvest). ;)

You really have to have a farm that is purpose driven to make silage for a forager to be worth it. If you are doing silage you need to buy the BGA so that kinda rules it out for a "start of the map" scenario. If you are feeding cows, once again, cows don't come in right at the start. But for a large cattle farm, foragers are very useful.

There are some more advantages of doing grass silage instead of corn silage: grass needs to be seeded only once and takes next to nothing for seed. After mowing the grass is already in fertilizing state one, so you save one application of fertilizer and for last if you do corn you have to plow after each harvest. Not to mention cultivating, seeding and two states of fertilizing needed. And for BGA my opinion is: add in the money and buy it! No point of playing that stupid Giants 'buy the BGA and sell to yourself game' - No one will ever buy ebay just for selling his stuff there. To Giants: use brain BEFORE doing something!@@Vbluguitar

I really only use the thin wheels for spraying or post planting field work - You can buy them right away though.

Its a great - "i'm gonna binge watch my favorite series while playing a game" game.

I would rent the plow unless you plan on doing corn or Sunflowers. If you plan on doing those you will need to plow after every crop and should buy a plow.

I am a bit late but just get a seeder that directly seeds

if you are on PC, look for autoloading trailers - they just magically pop pallets onto the trailer neatly.

Yeah, I haven't done one of these yet. FS22 is SOOO much more complicated, I am still figuring out what is needed and what isn't, but I will.

I’m pretty much a noob so take the advice with that in mind lol. I would suggest starting a basic game if you haven’t yet as it introduces you to some concepts and also gives you almost everything you need from the start. That being said: Tractor (size will depend on what you’re trying to accomplish but a medium is a good compromise) Tipper wagon(s) Cultivator (I suggest getting a seeder that will also cultivate, and some will fertilize as well) Liquid pesticide / fertilizer dispenser Solid fertilizer dispenser (if you don’t get a seeder that does) Lime spreader (this can be the same implement as the solid fertilizer spreader, depending on the model) Harvester + header If you don’t use auto refill for farmhands then a trailer and some sort of forklift to transport supplies (easier than trying to haul every item to the store to refill) I usually get a pickup to pull supplies and tipper wagons, but that’s because I like the speed. Another tractor would be slightly more expensive but probably a better investment. For seeds they’re all the same, can be used for whatever crop you want. I suggest something that doesn’t require specialized equipment, so usually canola or soybean. If you go with wheat / barley / oats you should be baling and that’s additional equipment right off the bat. Corn / sunflower / cotton / potato / sugar beets all require specialized sowing or harvesting (or both) so I suggest you either decide to commit fully to one of them (not recommended) or avoid until you have more capital.

I am so bad with mods, but I would check out modhub.us and see what tippers they have there.

the bsm 70000/6 by blacksheep modding is great you can even do a road train with it. or you could do the benalu optiliner (lizard optiliner on console) which has a 79,000 liter capacity but has no rear hitch

You can use the generic header trailer that is in the shop, but you will need to pull it on the trailer with a tractor or pickup truck - like they do in real life. You can even paint the header trailer JD colors.

If you have no silo, you fill up your tipper and sell it each time its full.

Yes - in game the plows are used after corn, sunflower, potatoes and sugar beats to get the best yeild. Plows can also be used to creat new fields, cutivators cannot. In real life a plow reaches down and turns over the soil to bring up nutrients, while a cultivator just scrambles and loosens the surface dirt.

I will do that! The mod is in there somewhere - the hard part is that there are so many mods - Try doing a search in game for "tool" or "toolbox" or "workshop" that should bring up some of the different workshop tool mods.

@@Vbluguitar I figured out where I went wrong. There's an option in there for "Show top mods only" when looking through the ModHub, and even if you search it doesn't show non-top mods. I was able to find it! Thank you for the quick reply. Only downloaded the game today, so a bit of a noob here lol. Spent hours watching your videos before ever even downloading the game lol.

I suppose - Another big tractor option would be the 7250, which costs almost the same as the Maxxum. But its nice to have those loader arms. I always try to look to the future though. I want my farm to grow so buying a larger tractor seems like a good move for the future.

Depends on what you are leasing. If you have a harvest that nets you 40k and spend 35k in leasing then its really better to buy the equipment.

As long as you are on PC you should be able to get maps from lots of places - modhub.us is good for instance.

Its literally called "the michigan map". I wish more map makers had picked up on the multi farm idea.

No really - You waste money on the smaller tractors and will out grow them in 3-4 game days, so you might as well start bigger.

That's a rather close minded way to look at it. Mostly people "bother with all this bs" because they bought a farming simulator game to farm, not to do forestry.
