Mr. Cummins, I can't help but to feel that you are doing a much greater service than you, or anyone, can imagine. I have an educated guess (and a gut feeling) that with the work you are doing, with our modern technology of sharing of information and so on, we will see the end of the hollywood ninja image and start a path that has long been needed. One key point (and I think you are starting it here) is keeping all involved, on the right track. People will one day remember well what we do now.
After sampling the words of many of Antony's detractors, I am always rewarded in my continued loyalty to Antony's views on this subject. Always logical, always tolerant, always based on REAL analytical data, and never on prejudice, conjecture or "What my masters masters master said about So and so." I really dream of opening a school like the one you Describe, one that is modern in almost all ways, but has it's roots in true Ninjutsu. This video is so liberating!
Took quite a bit of time to come up with, but I finally got the name down. 野 魂 流 Yasei Tamashī Ryu Wild Soul School Chose this name because I focus on developing instinct and foot work. Mushin. I'm just working on specifics at this point.
Seems to me a "ninja school" should be more of a clan type setting where you'd have classes on various subjects instead of grouping them into one martial arts type system.
Everything you say makes sense- but what IF someone (hmmmm) wanted to make a school that only taught Ninja trade craft? (using/making the various tools of the trade, studying manuals, using herbs, the esoteric practices, etc.)...?
Great video Ant, you've basically covered all the stuff I do now for my modern ninjutsu system. I tend to avoid classical military tactics since modern tactics are better for modern encounters. Either way... Great video.
Anthony, I held a black belt in Bujinkan Ninjutsu and in other styles, but left, as in real conflict (8 years with the Royal Marines) I found the techniques not effective at all. Loving your real stuff, to study real ninjutsu You would have to be a lot tougher than I ever was. Keep up the great work and stop this ninja play!!!! that people are being tricked into.
So... Lets say, aikido + karate + niten ichi ryu + kyudo + war strategies of any source + ninjutsu, and a cool name to it and its done? Seems easy... What about ninja ranks vs samurai ranks? Like... If i start a school(probabky wont, but im curious about how it would work) how should i call the different ranks of members, like... A beginer, a more experienced member, someone who is more into the infiltration part of ninjutsu or someone more into strategies, etc?
Anthony I would love to start a school as well! I have one to which I have thus focused more had not seen many details. I know it is much to ask you, but you could write what you say in the video in order to translate it in stride, because I dont have very good English! On the other hand, will one day your books translated into Spanish? I have them but take long, as I read them several times to understand the best I can. Thank you, a hug.
She is not my partner she helped with Videos. My aim is to unite all ninja fans all over the world. Also, Yoshie has an extreamly good grasp of history. You have never spoke to her, how do you know? Where is she (we) wrong?
Not sure Jacobson is his "Partner" from every angle it appears they are colleagues in a similar field, but not partners... Antony's entire work is (at least recently) based on mutual support and cooperation. Everything I have read from Antony has been based on things he can base on Tangible proof. It's possible some things are misinterpreted... but that's a far cry from making things up.
You still need to point it out otherwise its just your opinion. So when you find it let me know. If its not in a book but in an article i would suggest it is my mistake not Yoshie's. But you still have to point it out.
