There is a lot of truth in this - If you have ever read about or spoken to someone who has done a lot of undercover work (eg. vice cops) they always talk about having to be careful not to decend in to the darkness...

Around the 明治時代(めいじじだい)Meiji Jidai and the 1st constitutional time period (明治２3年) of Japan would 武芸(ぶげい)BUGEI and 武術(ぶじゅつ)BUJUTSU be terms that meant pre Meiji Samurai arts? And the term 道(どう)DO would imply the arts that could be studied by non Samurai after the end of the 幕府将軍(ばくふしょうぐん)Bakufu Shōgun gov't? Thank you for your time.
