Quick guide on the startup and shutdown procedure I use for the Jabiru 160/170. If you have any questions, let me know in the comment section below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Hi Romeo, A bit of a pedantic thing here, but I was always taught to leave your beacon light on until after you've shut down the engine. Because you're turning it off while the engine is still running - and you said you turn the beacon on, "to let people know you're starting up a plane." Great videos, by the way! I remember being as excited as you while learning. Are you going all the way to PPL?
Glad you like the videos Alexander. Fair call regarding the beacon light. I guess its only a matter of seconds between switch off and shutdown that its probably not a big deal. My instructor likes to teach me a work flow that's applicable to multiple aircraft which I think is a good idea "clean up, switch off, shutdown" seems to work well for me to remember and apply. Not sure about the PPL. Super keen to do the Ra-Aus cross country endorsement, and with talk that we will soon be allowed access to controlled airspace I guess its pretty much equivalent to a PPL but much cheaper. The LSA aircraft are also great to fly.. there much more modern compared to the Cessna and Piper trainers we typically have here. In saying that, I just did a lesson on steep turns and unusual attitudes and that spark an interest in aerobatics which you can't do on a RA-AUS licence. So will have to wait and see :) BTW, Ive got a good friend here in Wollongong called Alexander Brown....lol.
Hi Brock, I'm almost finished. Have a flight review to do and then the practical test. I've got 6 or more videos good to go but are waiting on my instructor to review them before release. He's pretty busy so it takes a while.
