So I've watched several of these advice videos. I've noticed a common theme. The guy always has to change themselves. I will admit that I come off as passive mainly because I dont sweat the small things. But how is that fair that in order to meet someone I have to be less true to myself and change who I am when I am completely happy with and love myself currently. Yes, I like to make other people happy but what is wrong with that if it makes me happy to see the people I care about happy. Isn't that a win win? I will continue to hold on to the thought that there is a woman out there that will except me as I am without me having modify myself so that someone becomes more interested while at the same time I feel like I've made myself less. However, i soon realise that the message carried across such videos aren't what we concluded in pattern. These videos are targeted not to men in general, but to a specific group of men facing issues stemming from themselves within. Therefore, Apollonia consistently mentions that these guys need to work on building their purpose and focus on themselves. In a way, she's literally encouraging us to be better men but not for the girl's sake. Its for the betterment of you as a guy living your life. On to the second part, where you mention about u liking to make people happy. This is in principle not a bad trait. In fact, to me (at least it shows selflessness) you are a good friend to your peers. Because I am like this to my circle of people as well. But excessive leads to co-dependence, which is term coined to talk about how one function based on other people's approval. In other words, codependent people are feeding off from external validation. I don't think she is trying to influence you to change your good trait here. Instead, she's more of like warning against excessive display of it. If you follow her videos, Apollonia has made it clear in many instances, even over several unrelated videos by rehashing on the importance to build inner strength within yourself. And why is that so? because inner strength is literally the root of everything. She isn't asking you to change this trait of yours. If its you, then its you. I've watched a few of your videos in their entirety and I have to say thank you so much for the great advise. I was questioning myself a lot I've the past week with what's been happening with a girl that I'm dating and didn't know if I should stand up respectfuly or gravel at this point in the relationship because she's starting to play mind games.
