For me it's all or nothing as soon as a sweet craving hits even if I indulge in a keto friendly treat it's a downward spiral and I know I will start to want to do it all of the time. It's safer for me just to avoid treats at all even the "safe" ones.

Thanks for the good advice. I've been following a keto diet since August last year and for the most part finding it easy and enjoying the extra energy. But in the last couple of weeks I've been having cravings for sweet foods and I think it's as you say, my carbs have been creeping up. So the 7 day 'sweet fast', makes good sense. I'll have to start tomorrow as I've already had today a dessert in a mug😆

Good timing this video was. Sorry. Didn't mean to sound like Yoda. Great points and in good timing. Carb flu, trying to keep carbs low and some cravings but following the advice you gave. I've had some bursts of energy in these first 11 days of starting but bouts of carb flu. Also had some nausea moments with coconut oil so reducing to butter and olive oil in cooking. I am down 19 pounds since Jan 1st which I know is fluid loss. I started at 373 and down to 354 so I know I'm doing most things right with my eye open to tweak where I need to in order be burning hot on keto. Your videos are massively helpful. Thank you so much!

great job, I'm sure it's not all just fluid loss! Make sure you're getting enough electrolytes (magnesium, sodium, potassium), whenever you're not feeling your best. Thank you, very happy to hear that!

Got vega sport electrolyte. Bit pricey but regular electrolytes have sugar galore.

Thank you for the ideas. I struggle with this every day. I can do well, but then the "sweets and treats" start creeping up, and I don't feel well. I will try the challenge.

You are so right I made some chocolate fat bombs and I can't stop eating them two with a meal fixs into my macros but I end up eating more. I will try the seven days no dessert

I'm a work in progress as far as keto.. successfully lost 30 lbs in 5 months, but slow going for the last 10 lbs.. my cravings are for fat!! I made a lb of bacon the other day to use for future meals, but I sampled one piece and 10 min later I'd eaten it all! It was later in the afternoon and obviously I was full so I skipped dinner and made it almost 20 hours before eating, but now I'm constantly craving something filled with fat!.. eeekkk.

A 30 pound weight loss in 5 months is amazing, congrats! Great that you're able to simply skip a meal when you're still full, as many just eat out of habit. Are you eating enough protein? That might help.

Minimalist Keto thanks.. I admit to loving meat of any kind (thinking it's part of the fat craving). Another obsession is celery with sunflower seed butter.. fat and fiber.. it also keeps me in fast for longer time. I'm taking supplements (black seed, krill, Magnesium, B12, vit K, and a couple others) and I play tennis at least 3-4 times a week ( hate formal excercise). My concern is that by eating too much fat my diet is lacking in other important things. Weight loss is my priority now, but when I reach my goal I also worry about transitioning to a long term eating that's healthy and low carb. I'm 61 grandma so I've tried a LOT of weight loss in the past, Keto diet has been the best one since I can also feel the energy benefits so don't get me wrong.. I'm happy, just craving some bacon right now.. lol.

don't forget that most vitamins/nutrients are better absorbed with fat and since you're eating meat as well, you're likely getting all the nutrients you need. But it's never a bad idea to just have some tests done from time to time to see if you maybe need some Vitamin D3 etc. Great to hear you're doing so well! Go for it, I feel like making some myself now! ;)

I was doing so good zero cravings for 6 weeks ,,, as soon as I added a bowl of berry’s for lunch I caved in and the sugar cravings were so bad and I’ve now put on all the weight I lost 😫😫😫😫😫😫 should I avoid fruit

it's interesting... i don't really have a sweet tooth, and i didn't grow up in a household where we regularly had dessert after dinner, but a few years ago, when the "treat yourself" meme first became a thing, i thought to myself, yeah, i eat well and take care of myself, why don't i have a small treat every day after dinner? many other people do it and are just fine. like i said, i don't have much of a sweet tooth, but what i do like is chocolate and nuts together, so i started a ritual of having a couple of squares of chocolate and some nuts after dinner. it's now years later, i'm trying to ditch this practice, and to my shock, it's become a habit that i'm having a really tough time breaking. sometimes i'll have cheese or nuts, but i always have a strong desire to have SOMEthing, and usually something sweet (ie. keto sweets). when i started this, i NEVER thought it would become this ingrained, since i'd lived 30+ years being mostly fine with having nothing after dinner! so, i'm definitely going to be trying your "one week of no dessert" idea. i really like that suggestion! i'm hoping it'll work to break this habit for good.

I think part of the problem is thinking that you're just eating a healthy dessert, compared to a regular sugary dessert you wouldn't feel good about after. And by doing that after a while, as you mentioned as well, it turns into a habit that's harder to stop. Great, let us know about your experience!

hmm, i don't know if it's because it's healthy vs. regular. what i like just happens to be "healthy" i guess according to some definitions... but still, it's generally extraneous to the goals of my eating plan, so in that sense, it's not healthy! as far as a report back: i was unsuccessful in sticking to "one week of no dessert" - however, i consider it successful b/c in attempting to follow it, it really helped me -- i was able to cut down drastically on what i eat for "dessert" to the point where i'm now at just a couple of squares of really high quality, anti-oxidant-filled dark chocolate (which actually IS in fact helping me meet some nutrient goals, so i guess it's not extraneous to my eating plan anymore!) i've always done better with ramping down or up to things slowly vs. going cold turkey, so this makes sense. i'm glad to have gotten it down this far and now i can see getting to the point where i forgo dessert completely! (whereas a week ago, i couldn't even imagine it.)

Hi .. can you tell me is dry coconut is a healthy snack on keto ? I munch 2-5 piece of small coconut if I am out of my keto food to stop the hunger ... And keto bomb n keto deserts r different right ?? .. I like keto bomb .. n if I crave chocolate I eat 85% dark cocao 1-2 square piece .. hehe .. more than sweet I crave for chocolates and if they r bitter I don't card I want chocolate 😌😌 but this cravings I have no more ..😎

sure, you can have some dry coconut. Just keep in mind you're getting approx. 7g net carbs/100g, so don't over-do it. Well yes, Keto desserts are better compared to regular sweets, but it your goal is weight-loss, you could be burning those calories from your body instead of burning the fat bomb first (which you might only eat because of cravings). It always depends on your goals. We love ourselves some 90% dark chocolate sometimes as well :)

Minimalist Keto thank you for great videos .. you help a lot .. next time I'll get myself 90% dark chocolate as well 😋😋 my aim is weight loss 😃 please make a video on what exercises to be done on keto diet .. well i do strength training since 15 days .. but my weight seem to fluctuate but not reduce as I would expect it to be .. that's why I am off scale since 3 days 😂🤣
