Another tip that has worked for me is to brush teeth after every meal. Works better if your toothpaste is the minty type. I lose cravings after brushing my teeth. 😂

Nupur Mate You will need to ignore those cravings and try to persevere. Usually it takes up to 2-3 weeks for your body to get used to the keto diet and getting used to reaching out fats and protein for energy rather than carbs in the body. Since it is day 5, your body is still adapting it. It took me almost a month to get used to keto. So you will just need to persevere through and you will eventually stop craving much once your body have convert to using keto as fuel. If the cravings is too much to bear, what I did was to eat fruits. I know fruits are not allowed in a keto diet since sugar is involved. But honestly based on my experience, 1-2 fruits like banana or a few cubes of watermelon doesn’t harm the diet. In fact it will ease your transition from carbs to keto as you will experience keto flu like symptoms like migraines, nausea, light headedness etc after 1-2 weeks starting keto due to Low sugar level (carbs heavily influence blood sugar, jumping to keto will disrupt your blood sugar temporarily). Once the symptoms have gotten better, you can slowly ease and minus away the fruits and by that time your body should be more or less used to being carb-less and the cravings should stop or minimise. Even if the cravings is back, just snack on a fruit to get your blood sugar up. When your blood sugar is Low due to being carb-less, you will have cravings as it’s a way of your body saying “eat something sweet or carb heavy because we are a little Low on sugar in the bloodstream”. @@NupurMate 5 days means you're still on the early process of adjusting to Keto. I think at that point your body has not actually fullly adjusted to the new diet. This is also the time where most people feel the stronger cravings from carb withdrawal. From what I remember when I started keto, just like what Tyen said, water helps a lot. Also, during the early days of starting keto, your body will really thirst for water as well so it goes hand in hand. Another tip is to eat something that can help satiate your hunger or cravings. Examples are food with higher amounts of protein like beef or chicken. Also incorporate healthy fats cause it helps satiate hunger and cravings. But be mindful that you should moderate fat intake and increase protein instead if you are doing keto for weight loss since you want your body to use up your stored fats. If you're doing keto not for weight loss (prescribed or for medical purposes), then consume higher fat and moderate protein. Eventually, from my experience, around 2-3 weeks I started to feel less hungry and my hunger pains completely disappeared even when I started fasting (one meal a day). Also cravings for carbs went away. Also it might help to use food logging apps (I recommend Carb Manager for Keto diets). And a lot of keto practitioners might disagree, but if you think "ketofying" your meals (low-carb breads, low-carb desserts) will help you jumpstart or adjust to keto, I recommend doing so. I started that way because I didn't feel deprived when I ketofied my food and it's what made me stick to this way of eating 1 year later.
