I was a victim of lusts (masturbation and porn) even after I became a born-again. I suffered the guilt for quite a while. It killed me every day, and the condemnation and realization that God would cast me out of His presence forever, hunted me to an unexplainable extent. I was ashamed of my spiritual condition but I just couldn't bring myself to share the condition with anyone. I sought for help from some spiritual leaders and they provided some way out but the condition only persisted. Then one day I said to myself if I can't be delivered from this condition, then it means that the sacrifice of Christ is inconsequential and void of power to deliver. And then I started praying that God would prove His power over the dominion of sin by giving me the access to total freedom - that was the beginning of my deliverance. And the Lord did prove Himself to me - He cleanse my heart from lusts and implanted His divine nature of holiness in me. And today I live relaying on His grace to sustain my salvation and purity. I serve Him with conscience void of offenses. Just in case you find yourself entangled in a web of lusts of any kind, I would like to recommend the blood of Jesus and His suffering cross as a gate-way to total freedom. Come to Jesus today and be free indeed.
WOW! ...May I say, Janet, that the poignant words that were found engulfed inside this message of yours were both so wonderfully communicated and perfectly expressed. Brillant! I thank you for your honesty while you were typing-out what can only stem from your inner-self (e.g. your heart, your mind and your soul). You not only honored yourself via this write but, more importantly, you honor God via this write, as well. Your simple act of writing-out your expressive thoughts, well, in return, just maybe, it will, someday, speak to someone else down-the-road who need this read and when they are done w/ their read, it may just resonate enough w/ them to the point that finally, they too can share in the power and the strength to do what they themselves know they need to do, as you did. You and your words just may be what's precisely and/or exactly the tool needed to help someone in their life as they, now, are suffering in the same way as found in your words. God, our ever deserving and ever loving God, needs you, yes?. ....(God bless you Janet. I have sent a prayer of blessings your way.)
I have been so Far Losing this Awful Battle But I Will Not Stop Trying ! Jesus helped me Defeat Alcohol an Drugs 26 Years Sober 24 off Valium an Cocaine 22 off Tobacco ! Lust an Anger is Next on the Hit List I am Determined Jesus is my Strength !
It's not about how many times you fall, it's about how many times you get back up. Romans 8:1 says, there's no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. I understand the struggle, all to well but glory be to God Jesus is still on the throne. ✝️💯
Don’t tempt yourself. If you struggle with lust in a lust driven culture, minimize social media and TV. Don’t listen to worldly sensual music. Hit the Word. Be in fellowship and confess your lust to Christ taking it back to cross. Don’t give up! Fight the good fight!
I’ve learned in order to better overcome, it is best to walk alone and not enter the world so much: never go to bars, don’t go to parties, do not hang out, be vigilante of others’ personality.
This is so important ⬆️ funny when “Christians” think it’s okay and it’s “art” along with all worldly things being common/natural and “okay” because something not written in the Bible? This is why I stayed away from the bad group. The bad music. The perverted shows and movies.. there is a reason why. Don’t question it.
I would also like to add, obey 1 Corinthians 7. This is why Paul said what he said by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is a shame that this was common knowledge, common wisdom, in a more Christian era, but in our current post-Christian and anti-family culture, it is a challenge for young men and women.
gf4rce God told me it's easy. multiple times. it's still hard for me but still. its what he told me. the problem is doubting that we can overcome it. He showed me that too. the spirit of God (the holy spirit) gives us the strength to be unbound. we just have to believe it. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Philippians 4:13 will help you.
Says every pastor/preacher right before they ruin a child's life. Why do you think this is happening so much because these men most likely practice celibacy? Idk but that would be my guess. How about we stop thinking sex as a bad thing unless it's uncondoned or under age. it is one of the most ridiculous things that was thrown into religion later by Churches not originally.
"God help me" That's all that will work. I like John, but his solution has to do with religiously resisting and *then* looking to God. We are told that our desires are like His, but the power of the sin that still resides in us is too strong for us. Salvation and sanctification are done by the Spirit and Him alone. I do not take credit for any aspect of my salvation other than the sin I brought to the table. I am persuaded, therefore, that the practices I produce have nothing to do with sanctification. I can't explain why I want to do good other than the Spirit giving me that desire, which forces me not to take any credit for doing it. My advice would be to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you let Him produce in you a practice to overcome it... And He may not. It may seem lazy to wait on the Lord, but it takes a lot of patience to do so. Waiting has no absence of exertion. But, then again, I am only 22 and am still working through this same mess myself so take these words with that in mind; I have much to learn.
Me too.. Ive come to realisation that it will never be defeated unless we truly WANT to be rid of it... Its hard to swallow but i think of Lot's wife everytime... She went along and listened and knew she needed to flee.. But what happened.. She couldn't FULLY let go.. And she looked back.. Thats how i feel.. I struggle with not fully wanting to let go i think.. I want to live for Christ but lust is destroying me..
@@Timothy1987 "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am made out of flesh, sold into sin’s power. For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree with the law that it is good. So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it." Paul's letter to the Romans 7:14-18 HCSB On the flipside, sin keeps pride from the foreground of your mind provided you are seeking Christ through the power of the Spirit. It is an instrument for humbleness.
Here's how I was delivered from porn addiction. Victory is totally possible and worth it. Sorry for it being such a long reply. Three things gave me victory over porn addiction and lust: First, I realized my faith was lukewarm and I wasn't taking God seriously, so I began watching every video on RU-vid about hell and people who had been given a glimpse of hell. If you struggle with porn as I did as a Christian, start here. Watching these videos helped me realize just how serious playing with sin is and kindled the utter fear of God in me, the dire fear of His eternal and fierce judgment of sin. It made me realize I had been playing with God as I played with sin, taking His forgiveness for granted, when in reality I was on my way to hell because my faith was lukewarm and wasn't repentant faith. The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and these videos scared the living daylights out of me. So in utter fear, I surrendered to God completely and begged Him not just to forgive me of my sins through the blood of Jesus, but to strengthen me with His Holiness because I had none to withstand temptation. And He did. God is very good and longs for you to turn to Him in repentance. You can't gain victory over this by yourself but He can give you the victory. And He will! But you have to make the decision to give God 100% surrender and truly mean it, saying "Enough is Enough. I'm done!" and then ask Him for the victory. Those videos of hell helped me reach that point of decision. And don't believe Satan's lie that you are beyond being forgiven. God will be faithful to forgive you and help you when you repent. Second, I realized that this is a spiritual battle, not just a fleshly battle, so I also renounced Satan's hold on my life and audibly commanded through the blood of Jesus that those demonic chains of immorality be broken in my life and that all spiritual forces of darkness flee from my life. When you watch porn, you are literally inviting the demonic world and its oppression into your life. Porn is the #1 tool Satan uses to enslave people, particularly men. When you watch porn, you are willfully rebelling against God and giving demonic forces the right to come into your life and build strongholds of oppression. That should terrify you. It did me once I realized the dark doors I was opening. And those strongholds that you have allowed the enemy to build must be destroyed if you truly want victory. You do that by renouncing this sin before God and commanding spiritual forces of darkness to leave by the power of the blood and name of Jesus. If you have any printed porn or images saved, destroy them, including those stored in your computer temp files. Bookmarks saved, erase them. Turn on safety filters on all internet search engines. Cleanse your house of all traces of porn so that you don't give the demonic forces the right to stay! Victory is totally possible through Jesus, prayer and standing on God's Word. Satan WILL flee as you renounce that sin before God. Please believe me, this is a spiritual battle, not just a fleshly battle. Choose to believe God, which means when He says He's for you, He really means it, and will give you the power to stand in His holiness and destroy the enemy. You are not powerless with God. Then third, I began starting each day by surrendering that day to God in prayer and asking Him for His holiness to walk in obedience, including obedience in my thought life. Tell Him your goal is 100% obedience and you will not settle for anything less. Choose each day, first thing, that this will be a day where you will walk in repentant faith, knowing that God loves you but that He is also Holy and will fiercely judge sin. Putting God first in your life like this will be costly. It will cost you the pleasure of sin for that day. Not easy if you're addicted to porn. But so worth it. The front line of the battle will be in your mind and Satan will fight you for control of your mind until God's holiness is firmly established in you. So begin taking every thought captive for Jesus and invite Him to be the Lord of your mind. Do not allow your mind to dwell on anything lustful and quickly ask God for help if you encounter it. If you give your mind over to lustful thoughts, even just a little, it will be a quick downward slide to failure. Be ruthless. It may seem hard, but I can tell you that victory is real. If you fail, repent and start these 3 steps over. You will get there. You will achieve victory over this. And this I promise you: the longer you walk in true repentant faith, the easier it gets. It will not stay difficult forever, just until that new pattern of obedience is established in your life. And then you will be free. I hope this helps. God bless.
@I don’t like Lgbt people Seeing Hell DOES TOTALLY mess people up. Bill Wiese wrote a book called "What Happens When I Die?" (available on Amazon) where he interviewed people who had died and either saw Heaven or Hell before being brought back to life. He said that all of them who saw visions of Hell, without exception, told essentially the same story and were totally messed up by it. Every single one, who didn't believe in God before this happened, immediately gave their lives to Christ and every single one became missionaries to warn people about Hell. It shook them so bad that it permanently altered their lives. God is not going to ambush us by surprising us with Hell. Because He loves us, He warns us repeatedly through His Word and, occasionally for some, through visions and dreams, so we will turn from sin to Christ and not go there. Whether you believe that people can have visions of Hell or not, my point is that developing a healthy fear of God is essential for successfully putting an end to repeated sin. For you, developing a healthy fear of God may take a different path, but for me, it was understanding the reality of Hell, that I'd been playing with sin that could send me there, and that God really does mean what He says when He states that we will all stand before Him for judgment and that He will judge all sin.
@I don’t like Lgbt people When I watched this other video, I thought about your comment about how people who see hell would be totally messed up. This guy was. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K9cSj1jFWU8.html
I'd like to add to Pastor Piper's advice.. worship. Worship is key to fighting our sinful passions. Encountering the presence of God melts away all desires that otherwise draw us from him.
Yes! I think the advice John Piper gives is awesome. Undoubtly the reception will lead to worship. I usually use this passage whenever I am being tempted: Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25) Instant resistant, reception, worship! So happy to have the Holy Spirit.
FreeRiderKiller Yes! Worship is a powerful way of encountering God, do not miss church/worship service! and also incorporate worship into every aspect of your life, do everything with Him and for Him; learn to delight in God and have a melody for him in your heart no matter where you are. God bless you, dear brother.
When Christ was tempted He spoke the Word. When "resisting", you need to speak the word out loud. Redirect your focus to meditate on the Word and away from the temptation. The Word fights the battle. The flesh has no power to resist - it is weak. Put no confidence in the flesh. It is the Word that fights the battle for you. Read it - Think it - Speak it.
The enemy is not impressed with our ability to speak scripture. He knows the word forward and backwards. In his tempting of our Lord he twisted the word in a feeble attempt to cause doubt. Don't waste your words or time speaking to the deceiver instead offer praise to God because satan is a defeated foe. The victory is in Jesus, the glory is God's.
I got a vasectomy. Only way was to mutilate myself surgically. I can't ever have kids but I have no sexual desire anymore, coupled with my faith in Christ. 0 lustful thoughts and desires.
Dear fellow brothers and sisters, feeling ashamed or guilt does not help. Instead confess it every night to God because hiding behind the bush like Adam did is a trap (as if we can hide from God) . Instead beg God to help you fight the evil desires of this “body of death” (like Paul calls it) that is decaying with time while our soul seeks to please Him. Like Piper said, engage in the battle, don’t say “it is what it is”. When you fall, the key is confess it every night and not listen to that voice that justifies it. Fight the good fight until your last day on earth!
Exactly!! As someone who has gotten out of this (with God alone helping me) and learned about how to get out of this trap over several years, you speak the truth.
Jesus warned us that following in his footsteps won't be easy, but he never said he won't help his people while at his father's side. God Bless and fight the good fight of faith

@@pratik6114 Jesus in the very same chapter says to tell the disciples he is going to “his God and their God” Jesus and the disciples have the same God, the Father Thomas saying my Lord and my God I can see as my Lord (Jesus) and my God (the Father) Referring to two people The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate proof that God is at work through Jesus And when Thomas sees the resurrected Jesus there is no doubt Jesus 6ish chapters early said when you see him you see the Father-he didn’t mean he was the Father, more like you see the Father at work through Jesus John 14 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. It has everything to do with God being at work through Jesus, The Father is the one doing the works, that’s why Jesus repeats all that after saying if you’ve seen me you’ve seen the Father 4ish chapters before that he says When you see him you see him who sent him (the Father) John 12 45 And he who sees me sees him who sent me. So rather than Greek dual nature solutions just use the harmonizing of the other verses Especially when in that very same chapter, Jesus says to Mary he is going to his God and their God (the Father) So the disciples God is the Father and Thomas’s God is Jesus?? That’s more of a contradiction When you see Jesus you see him who sent him When you see Jesus you see the Father That doesn’t mean he is the Father It’d be similar to someone saying “I want people to look at me and see Jesus” That doesn’t mean you are Jesus
When starting my christian journey, lust was my biggest adversary. I heard Piper explain the "5 second rule" and it did absolute wonders for me starting out. I love how God USED you to help me thru the years and how He is using you NOW at this season of my life! God is SO GOOD! I always appreciate the PRACTICAL ways WE can apply to overcome LUST! March 31, 2019 will be 6 years and I am over the moon in LOVE with Jesus! I want to please Him! Family of God, to all who read this far, Pray that I stay true, that I stay faithful & I shall do the same for you🙏🏼
Thank you! I'm delighted to know of your walk of victory in Jesus for 6 years. That's available to everybody with the truth hidden in his/her heart (Psalm 119:11; John 15:9-10). God is so good indeed. Grace and peace to you!
This is the sin I struggle with the most. Outwardly I live pure. I don't have sex outside of marriage. I dress modestly. But I struggle with impure thoughts. I remember the bible verse to keep your mind on things above. It seems like at night just before I go to sleep I am attacked with impure thoughts of lust. I feel horrible and I tell myself I won't do it anymore. It seems like a losing battle and I feel ashamed. But to keep my mind on things above I read my bible more, pray, and listen to Christian music. This has helped a lot but I'm still struggling with this.
I think you're on the right track with what you are doing. If you are not subjecting yourself to any tempting thoughts or situations, stay busy with God's things, delight yourself in Him and the hijacking of your mind by impure thoughts that you don't care to entertain will stop. Pray also about the issue and trust God for the deliverance. Believe that He can put a barrier or "firewall" around your mind and ask Him to do so. Ask and you shall receive (Matthew 7:7). Mark 9:23 ... all things are possible to him who believes.
@@yestothetruth there is improvement. Now when it starts to happen I say a silent simple prayer. "God help me". It's a desperate cry for help. I have to do this every night because it seems like I am under attack. The attack wants to fill my mind with immoral thoughts. I'd been praying for help before but just recently I've began calling out for help right as it's happening. After the call for help I breathe a sigh of relief. The overwhelming temptation is gone. I've found though that now I've been having actual dreams. It's almost as if my brain misses having the thoughts and is trying to make it happen anyway. This is how I know the heart is wicked because this is happening in my dreams.
You know, When Jesus cast out demons the disciples said that they tried to but they couldn’t and Jesus said this kind only comes out through fasting and prayer. Don’t be mistaken, sex is a natural urge but a demonic sexual spirit can creep up on us as a hinderance to our walk with God. I suggest fasting and praying for 3 days and eliminate social media and tv. Read the word of God, listen to gospel in worship and get on your knees for a while and ask that God deliver you. If there’s anyone else in your life that will fast with you that is already filled with the Holy Ghost be open and ask them to pray with you. God bless. You will come out.
I am muslim and I have fasted from sunrise to sunset. For most of my life during ramadhan but I wonder if I can go without eating and drinking for 3 days non stop. I think I can do a day and a half let mw see if I can do that but I will try to fast till I can no more.
I was set free from Lust and porn. I struggled my whole life. I prayed that God would forgive me of any sins that created evil covenants and to be forgiven of the sins of my father/grandfather's and mothers. I then asked God to bind any evil spirits/demons principalities, rulers or authorities and to loose me from them. I asked him to break any evil covenant, curse, or spell that my sin had created or caused and to close any doors giving access to me. I followed this with a day of fasting and prayer for the same thing. I was freed from those desires that I couldn't resist. They are gone. Praise and Glory to God
I know I got this! Nothing with God is impossible. If you are reading this, I hope that you overcome this sin one day. My the Lord bless you my family.❤️
I hate that Lust is one of my two hardest sins. My second sin i struggle with is anger. Just when i think i have one under control the other one takes over. It feels like im in a boxing match but my opponent has 4 arms.
Interesting that you use boxing as an analogy. I use that analogy when I teach the youth about sin. Before we have Christ in our life we are in the boxing ring with Satan and he is kicking the crud out of us. When we give our life to Jesus, He gets in the ring in our place and takes over beating the crud out of Satan. Some time in that fight we tell Jesus, Ok I got this. Jesus is like, ummm son, I think I should stay in here. But in our haste we force Jesus out and try to get the job done on our own. As we are getting pummeled by Satan we realize after some time, Ohh crud, what am I doing here. I can't do this......and there's Jesus standing at the ropes asking us to let Him get in and fight for us again. Just let Him back in the ring and remember to stay out. A righteous man falls 7 times and gets back up. He will never leave us or forsake us. You are an overcomer. 1 Peter 5:6-11 is a great study and exegesis. It is always encouraging for me. God Bless.
Asking for prayers has helped me. Asking for prayers from certain saints has helped tremendously. The Rosary, St. Michael Chaplet, and Divine Mercy chaplet everyday has changed me. Going to adoration has expanded my strength to fight the devil. My weapons are the Rosary and St. Michael Chaplet. Armour is Divine Mercy and Adoration. Learning how to fight; from the bible.

Don't just read the bible like its a vain tradition. Learn and grow in your knowledge of our God and savior Jesus Christ so that we can be drawn in even deeper worship with Him. Not just worship in singing songs, but I'm talking about lives that are lived out and marked by worship. Does the reading of God's word change you? Do you patterns and behaviors and desires adjust to become more holy? Ask God to change you in that way when you sit to read his word. God isn't asking for you to turn away from a single sin. He wants your ENTIRE life devoted and serving Him. I think if you focus on this mindset while growing in the word, change will happen. That is what Piper is saying here
Make sure you approach God the way He expects you to with the right mindset. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. That's what your attitude needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life (that's the kind of "change of mind" God wants to see). You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key--that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is the salvation you must make sure you have experienced: freedom from sin (John 8:36, Romans 8:1-2) versus bondage to sin (John 8:34, Romans 7:23). Approaching God in genuine repentance will lead to you receiving the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)--with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any habit that controls you reveals idolatry in your heart. You have to choose to be done with that and it will be part of your past. That's one thing that will come out of your commitment to be obedient to God for the rest of your life. Please see 1 Peter 4:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls [that's repentance]. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of 👉 *eternal salvation to all those who obey Him [...].* Please stay in the word and obey it (James 1:21-22). The word of God is fuel for your faith. To live as a follower of Jesus you must go out of your way to put the word of God in your heart and keep it there, rejecting all distractions. It's a fight and that's how you need to stand to not fall down. The truth will set you free from all sin (John 8:31-32, 36).
Absolutely Pastor John, everytime temptation comes, I legit shout NO!! to cast out the lustful thought, and ill do it again & again & again until its totally gone, & again & again when it comes back again, I swing my head lightly like when you're dizzy u swing ur head a bit, I do that as well, sleep early before it gets too late as the temptation of thought will submerge heavily during the dawn at least for me, brothers & sisters in Christ, hold tight to Faith and I assure you, you can fight and triumph over your sin, amen
Wow. Was struggling this evening and the Lord put the thumbnail to this video in my mind, as I had seen it earlier while on RU-vid. I love fitness and you perfectly explained the parallel between it and the fight against lust. That analogy really engaged me and gave me strength and wisdom to fight this temptation. Thank you Pastor John and thank you Jesus
Great job. This is really good. And it this resistance and reception can be used on many temptations we face. Not just sexual temptation. You guys did an amazing job. Thanks for sharing. I’ve tried to apply this method before, usually very lightly, to my circumstance and it’s helped me get passed things like video games and bad tv shows. I thought it was a good method but I wasn’t very confident. This video has given us confirmation and helped show us we should be using this method and that it was the Holy Spirit that gracefully and mercifully gave us the prompting to use this method before. It’s true, fight back the enemy with the word guys and gals! It works! I’m more confident in applying this method of resistance and reception than I was before. Thank you!
The only thing that has ever worked for me is absolute, full submission to God. Nothing held back. He delivered me miraculously. I’m still tempted but I’m able to overcome it easily now.
What a great message from John piper. I used to be imprisoned by sexual lust and struggled with it for a long time. I had a breakthrough when I came to true repentance. I was tired of being enslaved to it, always needing stimulation, it was my idol until God set me free. I made a decision and I turned around. I surrendered my life to Christ and surrounded myself with the gospel. I listened to Kjv audio Bible, studied the bible, prayed deeply, listened to old sermons by great preachers. I cried out to God for deliverance and he delivered me. The Lord revealed to me in prayer, that if I kept part of myself from him, he wouldn't deliver me. Jesus wants all of you, not just some of you. I also want to point out that lust can be sheltered by compulsive behavior. For example, if you watch sports alot it can turn into your idol, which is idolatry. If you lust over material things and gotta have new things all the time that is covetousness, which is also a form of lust. I was even convicted by the holy Spirit of my eating habits when I went to a buffet which is gluttony. Lust of money is a big one which many people are under bondage. The world drinks down lust and sin likes it's chocolate chip cookies, I would also recommend a social media diet or cutoff. Surrendering all of yourself to God and you will be set free. Call upon the name of the Lord and thou shalt be saved. It won't be easy, as in my case I encountered some sevre spiritual warfare right after, But the Lord helped me through it. I hope this helps eddify you, and encourage you. I pray the Lord Jesus strengthen you and guide you. Romans <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="366">6:6</a>- Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Who all are listening this at 2020? Praise God❤️ Our God is an amazing n an awesome God and I truly believe that he can save each one of us in any sort of addiction or bad mindsets! Stay safe everyone and God bless❤️❤️
Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength... and believe me, He will do the rest... ( Worship ) being in His presence is everything we need. You’ll never want to lose the God that created everything. His presence, (wow!!!), that’s all I got to say... God bless y’all. Jesus is King!!!
Must admit that I was a bit surprised that the question was posed by a woman, and that so many women have admitted they struggle with this. This is typically a problem that many attribute only to men, thus beating them down in waves of guilt and shame. God is the great redeemer of both men and women. Thank you, and God Bless, to all the women who admit they struggle with this too!
Women have many secret desires but we just don't express it so overtly for the most past. Its refreshing to hear this question coming from a woman, and it's more common than people think. Woman have just as many thoughts of last as men and uts not easy either. 😶
This is so 🔥🔥🔥. Very practical for depending on the the power of the Holy Spirit and the Grace of Jesus to come out in victory by the renewing of the Mind to fullness of the knowledge of God.❤️🔥
This really is powerful. Im going to shortcut this and johns similar sermon and listen to them daily for a bit. The biggest step in the right dirction given to me do far has been serious bible study. Not the same thing but long ago I was very tempted to smoke weed everyday. I could not stop for some reason although it is not physically addictive people definitely become dependent on it. I tried everything to stop and nothing worked. When I realized that I was going to lose this battle I prayed and god answered. It was a simple answer "stop for no reason". For whatever reason this made sense to me and I was able to quit smoking. I think god knows what is needed personally for all of us to overcome anything we desire and will reveal it to us when we humble ourselves and surrender then ask faithfully for gods help.
Correct me if I’m wrong: Before you can resist all sin you need to become transformed internally, become saved and use the power of grace before you can really tackle the problem with sin. It’s by his power we can resist temptation, not our own
This is why im so confused Im asking for strength and still falling I can resist a llt better than I did I didnt even try before I was a Christian now I want rid of it and to be free and to love Christ and follow Him but Im asking for help and deliverence and I still fall every 2 or 3 weeks :,(

@@eugenenghunyule7317 and thats the hardest part. God doesn't want us to think sex and masturbation is bad. John Piper speaks God’s truths. He is clear, understandable and precise in his messages. Ty so very much pastor Piper. I benefit greatly from your preaching, and lust, and porn is at the top of the list for me to battle, but I will continue to battle against the temptation to indulge, claiming, and practicing the power that is available to me, and that power is the Holy Spirit.
You have to be in 100% agreement with God about doing his will for the rest of your life and you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 1:1-2): that is how you will be set free from sin (John 8:34-36, Romans 6:4-7, Romans 6:14-18). If you are dead to porn and porn is dead to you, then you are walking in freedom and overcoming it by the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). That is different from being in a constant battle. You can be once and for all victorious in Jesus. It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:31-32, 36).
It is an invention of God, to produce new souls. Do not act against God's work. Stop babbling and start your reproduction. If still possible. God don´t love those who don't know what this all is good for. He constantly needs replacement for the dwellers of his divine zoo.
When you think about something lustful or you are tempted to go look at some porn or something like that, think to yourself what do you really want right now? Do you really want to go watch strangers have sex? What is it about sex that makes you like it? It’s the ultimate physical embodiment of being accepted . Remember that God accepts you so you are already accepted . Bask in God’s love. Replace that bad habit with a fun hobby. Learn an instrument, Or go be around friends. One day or perhaps already the right girl will accept you. She doesn’t want a porn addict. She wants a well rounded faithful lover. Be that person!
Thank you, John. I struggle with thoughts like these, and have for years. But this time I am looking to what God has to say. You are helping me do that.
I suffered from porn addiction as a teen until I was 17. I just decided one day to not watch porn anymore. And for years I have been true to my crusade against pornography. I fell sometimes, but never to the extant of when I was a young teen. Then over the past 2 years I have fallen more than I have been as a young adult (I am almost 24 now). It’s not been to the extent of when I was 14-16, but once every 1-2 months I would fall back for a day. It makes me burdened that I am more susceptible to lust in my mid 20’s than I was from 17-21 years old, and it’s a struggle I just don’t need. Could it be because of my loneliness now that I live alone? Is it because the pressures of my life changing and myself maturing is causing me to seek release in the wrong way? No matter the reason I don’t want to suffer the temptations of the flesh anymore. Please pray for me.
Have you received the message of God calling all to repent? That is the way to be forgiven for sins we have committed up to that point of turning to God and turning the page from the way we had lived until then. That opens the door to receiving the gift of a new life that we will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world. It all begins with repentance and faith in Jesus, which means obedience to his word. Without the word of God in your heart, you won't be able to live for God and walk in his ways. So, if you are willing to follow God's ways, you will take guidance from the scriptures. Please consider the following: Acts 17:30-31 30 The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now He commands that all people everywhere should repent, 31 because he has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to everyone by raising him from the dead. Luke 6:46 Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things I say? Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith/obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Peace to you!
There is freedom in the Savior Jesus Christ. He payed the price for all our sins so that whoever believes in His life, death, burial and resurrection in their heart will be saved. This isn’t a battle you can over come alone, you need God to fight your battles for you. Trust in Christ!
Hi, I can really say I understand this battle because I had suffered from it but now I can say that I'm free. There are practical steps I took which helped me and I'll like to share them. First I made a decision in my heart and I asked the Holy spirit to help me. The thoughts starts with the mind (Eph 4:3, ROM 12 :2). Your mind has to be renewed. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is king and ask Him to come and reign in your heart Keep your mind void of anything that sparks the flame of lust. This includes listening to worldly music , watching movies with erotic scenes, keeping company with friends that discusses sex or dirty talks, keeping contacts of your sin partner etc. Dont forget that the entrance of Gods word gives life. I dwelt on God's word. The word of God kept me from falling again ( Gal 5:6). The word of God guided me on how to pray aright too. Each time I get tempted I'll fight through with Gods word. Gal 5:16 says walk in the spirit and you'll not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Another thing I did that helped so much was accountability. Yes I had a pastor I was accountable to so I won't want to b silly so I can give a. Other than spending time reading my Bible, I listened to to messages and some and filled my phone with soul lifting song. Lastly, Be intentional.
I feel like it’s because you’re alone. Well don’t be like scared, it’s ok to be alone. But when you’re alone, you think that no one’s watching you. But God’s watching you, no matter how you hide, he’s def watching you. So go outside, call someone, eat something, go take a walk, play a video game, something to distract your mind. Cause when you’re alone, you get bored, you get lazy, so i believe an affective method is distracting yourself.
I can share this: sexual desire in itself is natural and not sinful. But there is sin when purity of heart and self-control in one's thoughts and actions are lacking (Matthew 5:8, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27), for instance, in the case of having an addiction or intending to engage in any lawless behavior. Remember sin begins in your heart/mind (Mark 7:21-23). It's up to you to know if any situation you are involved in is sinful because of such reasons or any other indication you have from God. Make sure you approach God in genuine repentance so you will have the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)--with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any habit that controls you reveals idolatry in your heart. You have to choose to be done with that and it will be part of your past. Please see 1 Peter 4:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9. You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. That is the salvation you must make sure you have experienced: freedom from sin (John 8:36, Romans 8:1-2) versus bondage to sin (John 8:34, Romans 7:23). Most of them don't have computers or access to the internet. So how can the majority of the world listen to something they don't have access to? Not to mention that even among Christians, not all of them are fans of Desiring God's youtube channel and prefer other evangelists. Also realize it's about perspective. I'm not a Muslim, but to understand this point I will talk as if I come from their world view. To a devoted Muslim they think you, me, and every other non-Muslim believer just want's to live in sin so that they can pray when they choose and not when God chooses or so they they can eat what they want and not what God has decided is right for them or uncover their women and choose what they want to wear and not what God has selected for them. People want to do what they want and not what God wants. This spits in the face of God. See every non-Muslim just wants to live in sin. So obviously you don't see it this way, because you live in the narrative and confines of your own Christian beliefs and to you desiring these things is not considered sin, because you don't believe it's a sin to begin with. So a Muslim telling you your sinning means nothing to you. Is the reason your not a Muslim because you want to live in their sin? Of course not. But yet you imagine that this is the reason why every non-Christian is not a Christian. I assure you it doesn't work that way. That is a black and white fantasy narrative. You can have this ""I know what everyone else is thinking and must desire"" perspective with any world view. And your wrong. The whole world is not desiring to sin and be evil to reject the truth of God. Yes, it's what preachers push as the view to hold, but it's not true. To other people what is a sin in Christianity is not seen as a sin to them. That doesn't mean they are desiring to be evil or intending to rebel. Just as you are not intending to rebel because you don't consider a sin what Muslims consider a sin. You probably feast on pork and pray when it suits you. To you this may seem like no big deal, but to a devote Muslim your spitting in the face of their god. Try and transition this perspective onto people who don't believe in your god. What is eating pork to you is simple lust to them. They don't see or understand it as sin they way you do. Calling lust a sin sounds as silly to them as a Muslim calling eat pork a sin sounds silly to you. When you say to non-Christians ""they just want to sin and do what they want""" it is as effective and meaningless as if a Muslim told you ""you just want to sin and do what you want and not what God wants"". Stop pretending you understand the thoughts, intentions, and desires of 7 billion people, you sound incredibly ignorant of all things cultural and how societies and people's beliefs and perspectives actually develop and function in the world. It's so much more complex than how your portraying it. If your going to persist on saying that people are sinning (you are a Christians after all and I agree it's fare to believe that) then say that they live in sin and don't understand their sins. But don't pretend that they all ""know"" they're sinning and love it and want it and rebel God just so they can have it. This way over simplifies what is alot more sociologically complex than this black and white simplistic view of the world.
Praise God. I started applying the second half and i have noticed a change in my thoughts, feelings and behavior. It is amazing how studying and meditating every day helps to apply the Word into my life. Great question and wonderful response. Thank you gentlemen.
Knowing that you alone can't have victory is the first step to liberation. Tell this to the Lord and expect him to do his work on you. In the name of Jesus rebuke the bad thoughts and ask him to cover your mind with his blood. Be sure to first accept him as your Savior and be sure He brings you forgiveness.
@jacksobrooks Please see the video "Be Set Free From Sin" on my channel and click on the link in the description to read a post with information that will help you overcome (Revelation 2:7). Peace to you!
You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts and don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. When thoughts come to you that you don't want to entertain, remind yourself of what will keep you focused on pursuing godliness (Philippians 4:8, Psalm 119:11, 2 Timothy 2:22). If you realize that you are trapped in sin and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Peter 4:1). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (Romans 3:25), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance],✷ receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. ✷Repentance means you turn from disobedience to God to obedience to God, then you continue on a path of faithful obedience to God, which is what faith is about-not sinning/deliberately disobeying God (the opposite). James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:31-32, 36). Peace to you!

Jesus says our knowledge of the truth will set us free. He also says His burden is light and His yoke is easy. Once I discovered the knowledge behind what’s called “no fap” (just search for it and you will find many helpful videos) it was easy to overcome lust, and the temptations that come along seemed light. The apostle Paul discovered this, and he wished all men could be like him. Paul also states the “flee fornication” principle, noting that we must make every effort to distance ourselves from temptations when it in our power. You will also find The concept of resisting may only work when you “resist unto death”; in other words, when you recognize by faith that God’s blessings will eventually leave you, and God’s judgement and eternal punishment is looming, you will find strength to overcome simply as a matter of self preservation. So do these things, and you will always win. You will also receive great blessings. And just as Jesus says, it will be easy!
Mike Hicks, if this is still an issue, I recommend this post to you: _"09 - Struggling with Lust? (Message for Men)."_ Please see my video titled _"Be Set Free From Sin."_ You will find the link to the post in the video's description. Peace to you!
My unbelieving date has been persuading me to have sex again but thank God i've come across this podcast.even though it's hard to break up with him and not see him again but I need to obey the Lord and flee from temptation.
Satan is behind every addiction and Jesus Christ has freed countless millions from the chains of addiction and he can certainly free you by fully trusting him.. feel free to hit me up in these comments if you need to talk
@rebeccawells1580 Heart purity is the answer. God has created us to have natural sexual desires and there is nothing wrong with them, but heart purity and self-control in our thoughts and actions are a must (Matthew 5:8, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27). God calls us to love from a pure heart (see 1 Timothy 1:5, James 4:8, Isaiah 1:16-20). That will eliminate lust that makes one look at another person as a sex object which goes beyond merely acknowledging sexual desire or attraction. And that is possible with Jesus, but we need to not only believe it but also agree 100% with Him to go in that direction. What God's grace promises to his servants who live for Him is "life and peace" (Romans 8:6), not a losing battle with natural urges or any uncontrollable habit likely accompanied with impure thoughts that result in sin certainly. You have to be in agreement with God about doing his will (obeying Him) for the rest of your life and you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 6:1-2, Romans 6:11): that is how you will be set free from sin (John 8:34-36, Romans 6:4-7, Romans 6:14-18). Then nothing will be your master or an idol for you. You can find answers to any questions you have about your sexuality in your own relationship with God. He will surely point out to you anything that is possibly in the way of closeness to Him, whether that's a wrong action or behavior, or a wrong mindset. So, if you focus on building or deepening your relationship with God, then you will be able to seek and receive his precise guidance on anything. Please stay in the word and obey it (James 1:22). It is the truth that will set you free from sin (John 8:31-32, 36).
Pastor John shares about Resistance and Reception produce Steadfastness/Endurance and Focus/Mindfulness respectfully. From what I understand, it is both an Outward work and an Inward work, by saying No to Sin and saying Yes to Jesus. Effort in rejecting the Devil, the flesh, and the world and Renewal in receiving God's word and His Spirit through Jesus. Thanks Pastor John for this sharing.
