Here are 5 popular ways to stop on roller skates 1. T-Stop 2. Plow Stop 3. Turn Around Toe Stop (either 1 or both toe stops) 4. Powerslide 5. Hockey Stop #rollerskating #shortysskateseries #skatetricks
Hockey stop we call that power slide back when late 90s early 2000's at the skating ring that's how me and my friends would stop. Also would go real fast and see who could slide the longest.
thank you so much! i’ve normally heard of plow stops and t-stops, but plow stops never worked for me and i’ve been terrified of trying the t-stop and tripping i tried the turn around toe stop, and it works amazing for me! thank you! :D
That’s impressive I never seen someone power slide a Hockey stop on quote mean I was getting for nine years hockey player and I know how to power slide hockey shop and all that but I never seen someone quad to do that. You’re really good at stopping.
My problem is you can’t stop on Rollarblade’s when you’re bombing a giant hill. A bunch of people called the cops on me in my town. Skating while picking up litter with big tongs. My goal this summer is not to get in anyone’s way. I was in the middle of the road way too much. I love doing the Snakewalk
Yeeew! Thanks for the upload!! What type of wheels are you using for these stops? Are you using these for all your ourdoor skating? Are they 78a? Or hybrids?? ❤ Thankyou 🙏
So I'm using 99a Bont Flow wheels in this video because the concrete is smooth but also quite grippy. The hardness of the wheel depends on the surface you are skating on. Usually for outdoor skating I use turn around toe stop.
@@ShortysSkateSeries sending love from England. I played men's derby for Portsmouth scurvy dogs, toughest town in the UK. Lewd Nelson 111. And the Portsmouth wenches are the girls that got me into it. Love them so much. I'm 51 now. No more derby, too many broken ribs. The best time ever on wheels is full contact roller derby. You have good skills i can tell.
I can skate super fast, play hockey on inlines, skate backwards, but I can’t stop 😅 I always end up running into the walls if I need to stop. Idky I just can’t figure it out 😂
Surface and hardness of wheel. The concrete was quite grippy so I needed harder wheels, but I did the same stops on slick wood floor then I would need gripper wheels.
Unfortunately if you are going to T-stop on rough surfaces enough you will get flat spots. There isn't really a fix to this sorry! Harder wheels may flat spot slower but they aren't really suitable for outdoor skating
I'm familiar with inlines but only recently picked up a pair of quads. How much do flat spots affect quads? I feel like on inlines it's not really a big deal because all four wheels aren't usually touching the ground anyway, but with quads all four wheels are almost always in contact. Just curious if these stops make for bumpy/uncomfortable rolling once flat spots develop.
Sorry for the delay. In this video I’m wearing 101a wheels so they don’t really flat spot. And these stops I would do indoors for roller derby not usually outdoors. But it soft outdoor wheels and stopping like this a lot could wear a flat spot. For outside I usually do a turn around toe stop so I’m wearing out my toe stop instead of my wheels
