Day 2 of quitting weed after heavily smoking daily for 8 years+. It has served me well in the past but there came a point where I realised I couldn't do anything without getting high first. I was using it as a crutch and thinking I was in control while slowly but surely losing myself in the process. 48 hours after quitting and I already feel lighter, healthier and I can breathe easier. I have a million reasons to quit - yet all I can think about is sparking up. Weed addiction is so real, and I wish you all the best of luck if you decide to quit. Most people just wanna stop smoking because they’ve done it for so long it just has no affect anymore but the mind is dependent (people get anxiety and depression etc from just stopping) so they continue to smoke. Literally the exact position I’m in now.

I lost all my friends, I lost my dreams and goals and i feel like I literally need to start over with life. Weed is cool and all but if you abuse any drug it will ruin your life. As a veteran smoker of 20 plus years I just came to the sudden realization that my pot addiction has made my life a living hell , two failed relationships , shitty jobs that pay nothing and because I couldn't pass a drug test I couldn't have access to top dollar paying jobs or keep a job , weed had me in this state of mind that nothing mattered but getting paid and calling my supplier and lighting up . I was always miserable when I didn't have money to smoke scrambling thru the goddamed ashtray looking for roaches to roll up and smoke like a fuckin crackhead feind out, also noticed how miserable people around me that smoke were when they didn't smoke they were total assholes and shit heads . There's too much I want to say about pot and my years of pot use , I am no longer in denial , I will admit that I have a problem . I've noticed people that don't spend their money on weed live decently happy lives have everything they want and can afford to buy nice things because they aren't spending that money on weed, people that smoke will disagree or deny they are addicted . If they weren't addicted they wouldn't need to smoke every goddamned day , they are in total denial . Too high to realize reality and have an excuse to why they need to smoke weed before during and after a work day . They'll say it's not causing any problems in their lives . I am no longer " cool " because I don't smoke , they can all kiss my ass . Don't come asking me for money when y'all broke asses are fiend out . I realize that I’m addicted and abuse it, but I gave myself strict guidelines on how I’ll let it affect my life, and I haven’t changed those guidelines since I started smoking, it’s just a matter of self control and sheer willpower. Hasn’t done any damage yet, other than to my paycheck
Years ago I was a every day smoking pot head. When you start to realize your tolerance is so high and you barely get a buzz anymore it’s time to quit for a month. That first smoke after the month off is incredible. I won’t go back to everyday smoking now. Once a week and two hits is all it takes now
I smoke so much I don't get a buzz just like smoking a nice tasting cigarette to me now 😞 I quit for a week but still didn't get high. I'm gonna challenge myself to a month struggle to go a day without it tho
Rachie 00000 do a month and you’ll definitely be high again. Just be careful the first time you smoke after a break, it’s easy to smoke too much on accident and give yourself some serious anxiety, remember that it actually takes about 5 minutes after smoking for it to really kick in, so you may be smoking and think you aren’t high yet but 5 minutes later it’ll hit like a freight train, and peak at 30 to 45 minutes. I smoke daily for medical reasons so I don’t really care about getting high, however for me if I don’t smoke for a couple of weeks because of my financial situation, it definitely gets me high.

Rachie 00000 it depends on what’s causing your pain and where it is at on how well it’ll work, I have chronic kidney stones and it helps me quite a bit with those. But anyway if you find it’s not helping with pain, you should try a weed strain that’s higher in CBD if that’s an option for you, if not then I have a solution, you can legally buy hemp flower now anywhere, you should use that and mix it in your weed, I usually do 1 part hemp to 3 parts weed, but it will diminish the high, and as for your cravings, well you can just smoke the hemp flower by itself while you are on break, it has less than 1% THC in it.
I always take breaks from bud I might smoke it a few months and have a few months off suppose I'm lucky that I can do that know a lot of people who can't go a few hours without a joint

Im 26 years old. I started smoking weed around the age of 16, and quickly I led myself into a path of other drugs and abuses. Struggling with alcohol binging and an ongoing pornography addiction, I even convinced myself I must be autistic. Its been hard to kick habits, Pot being one of the hardest. I've distanced myself from my dreams, and opportunities due to the fact I needed weed to help me "focus". Its been an on going battle between being depressed, sad and unmotivated to a day where I feel weed picks me up and brings me that creative insight I so badly desire. I was able to stop smoking cigarettes and its been over 1 year since my last, however I would love to kick alcohol (kicked it for 6 months once before) and to finally put an end to the weed.Although its helped with the anxiety at times, now weed just takes away that bright feeling of sobriety, and lashes out at me with an endless cycle of wanting to be stoned. I live with my fiance who I will be marrying December 7th. The guilt of knowing she works and pays the bills for our household because I cant hold a job due to my mood swings and lack of interest, shows me how pathetic weed has made me. Don't let this be you. I cant do anything in moderation, and I lack self discipline. Weed is not my savior!
I really hope you can kick alcohol from your life. I feel very related to you, i also started smoking weed when i was 16 and now im 26, i also have sudden mood changes and thought i might be a bit autistic since my girlfriend is the person that is the most compatible with me and understands me the most that i have ever met, and she has a small percentage of autism but i have never been addicted to alcohol. I quit weed 2 months ago and my mood changes went much better, i have the feeling that when you manage to quit weed and alcohol that will get fixed in a very good measure. Off the weed 7 days feeling great. I used smoke 7 grams a day for about 13 years never went longer then a few hours without if I couldn't get it I would just go to bed depressed. Never taught I could do this and I gotta say I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. Giving up cigarettes next week as I only really smoked weed but we mix tobacco with weed in my country so they go together. Wish me luck... If I can do it anyone can.

@@nigelsmyth4313 no unfortunately still smoking it. The only reason I want to stop really is costs too much and bad for lungs like u said we mix with tobacco here in England too. I only managed a week without it because was on holiday. I find it helps my appetite and I still have dreams with it doesn't affect me like that. @@Rachie-nj3oi well touching 6 weeks in now and the best thing I found was just to talk about it with my friends who also smoke it and give myself a pat on the back for not doing it. The first two weeks were the hardest coz I dreamt I was smoking it which is something I never dreamt of all those years when I smoked. The main reason I gave it up was I hated giving so much money away and I just didn't enjoy it anymore one of my friends is off it now 3 weeks too and she is doing great. It's easy to do when u stop making excuses to smoke. I thought about doing it for years but I would make excuses before even trying like I had a bad day or I was bored. Also you should add up what u spend in a year on it and you'll see u spend more on that then food or fun things. I spent thousands in the years I smoked and I burnt plenty of dealers too so it would of been alot more if I had payed everyone. I think when u realize what you've spent you'll find it pretty easy to do.

Im so proud of my method and i would love to share it with you guys: (feel free to skip to how i did it) I started smoking weed when i was 16, and i smoked for the next 10 years so i was in a point where i couldn't see my life without it and i was convinced that i would smoke for my whole life to be honest.. Smoking was the center of all my hobbies and friendships. I used to play pc games and watch youtube videos while being high all day. Then one day my girlfriend, who never liked the fact that i smoked but always respected it, got honest with me after 2 years of relationship and told me how she felt about it and how much anxiety that produced on her.. And even though she told me that she wouldn't leave me because of that, I love her so much and i have always had the fear that weed could affect my job or love relationships since i started smoking, so that was the push i needed to take the step and quit, and you should find your motivation to do it too, that's the MOST important step. After a lot of research on the internet without finding an easy method of quitting i decided to make my own method using some of the knowledge i got from all the other methods i saw and i have been clean for 2 months now and feeling better than ever. I would love to help you guys and answer any question you have. Please let me know if it worked for you :) THIS IS HOW I DID IT: -Step one: Get a vape Seriously, a vape helps SO MUCH. I would say is mandatory for the success of this method, and you will need it for a long time after (i still use it nowdays). Weed doesnt cause as much physical addiction, its mainly psychological, you need to blow some vapor/smoke every once in a while when doing the same activities you used to do when you smoke weed and hold something with your hand, and that does the job incredibly well. I recommend the "nunchaku" from Uwell. its also a DAMN good vape and its cheap for a vape of its category. E-liquids with a cool effect and mint help a lot too with that hit feeling, i highly recommend those. Step Two: Avoid smoking during day time This is the hardest step, if you archive that, you have 70% of the job done, trust me. Keep yourself entertained during the day and vape like there is no tomorrow if you need to. Dont worry, you will be able to have your joint before going to sleep, thinking about it will help you calm down. But the golden rule is that you can only have ONE. The later you have it, the better. Then, go to sleep before the effects go down too much or you might want to have another one.. that will give you anxiety and what we want is to slowly reduce the consumption taking advantage of that "first joint of the day" effect. The first one of the day always hits you harder, its always more powerful. Specially after a whole day without smoking. Step three: Slowly reduce the size of the "good night joint" After a few days of avoiding smoking during the day, you will realize that after two thirds or half joint, you are already very high. Take advantage of that and start making the joints smaller every day, avoid geting super high, have just enough to be able to take away your anxiety and sleep properly. I dont care how long this step takes you. TAKE YOUR TIME, everybody is different and the goal of this method is to reduce anxiety to the maximum because that makes you want to smoke more, but its very important that you try to make them the same size every day or smaller, you should never make it bigger than yesterday. You can reduce it as slowly as you want as long as you never take steps back, only steps forward, just don't forget that you want to quit and stay strong on that decision. Don't take way too long or you could loose motivation. You will see how your body slowly adapts and you always get the same amount of "high". not smoking during day time will slowly get easier as the days pass and your body will get less and less resistant to THC every day without breaking a sweat or getting super anxious.Just remember to go to sleep quick enough before the effect goes away. Step four: Find "The day" After a month or two, maybe less maybe more, if you are truly committed to quit you should be smoking mini joints that only last 4-5 hits right before going to bed. If you can make them smaller then better. You should now start going to sleep only half high. I know its hard bro.. But remember all the positive things that quitting will bring to your life and how you will spend all the money you saved and will keep saving by not wasting it on weed, its like a salary raise!. And try to find the right day to quit smoking once and for all. You should be off from work the day after, if you can have a week off or a holiday that's definetelly the best time to do it cause you reduce the stress as much as possible and it will be very hard to sleep for the next days. Have your sleeping pills ready and you should be fine. Step five: Try to stay positive and detox your body During the first month you will be in a bad mood, Your brain is adapting to live without the stimulus of THC and that will create the oposite effect of the high that will last for a long time. That is completely normal, just try to stay positive, keep yourself entertained as much as possible and keep vaping a lot, if you smoke cigarettes use an e-liquid with nicotine, that will help with the anxiety too. It will only last for about a month, i promise. You are now an ex smoker and you should be very proud! Eat lots of vegetables, drink lots of water and do exercise if that's possible. That diet will help you with the mood, i saw it on a website and it helped me. The THC stays in the body fat and that will also help get rid of it, along with giving you a feeling of getting in control of your life and becoming a healthier person, which at the end, will help you stay positive . Junk food and fats will make you more irritable, so avoid them as much as you can while the brain adapts again. That should be easy because your appetite will decrease during that month. The most notable side effect will be insomnia. Sleeping pills will help you an awful lot during the first week or two, specially on the more stressing days. They will help you so much that it will feel like cheating!. Insomnia is the side effect that takes the longer to go away, it can take from 1 to 3 months to go away, but your mood will be better long before that happen, don't worry. i NEED to quit. it’s setting me back in school. i smoke everyday when i used to look down on the people who do that. my grades are awful, my parents don’t trust me, my friends barely know me anymore. it’s horrible. i keep digging a deeper hole for myself and idk if there’s a way out

Today is the last day I smoke until I’m successful in life. The reason so is because I got caught in school with a friend smoking a vape product that contained CBD and my friend and I suffered a very harsh consequence. Because of my actions the people I love the most which are my parents have lost trust in me and think I’m gonna be a bum in life and I want to prove them wrong by stopping my habits and showing them I could change for the better.
To anyone quitting weed I’ve gotten major anxiety and depression just know that you can get through this I’ve done it before for a whole month and after I started smoking again I knew I was gonna have to go through the quitting process again so please don’t give up

I started smoking weed regularly nearly two months ago and I’m just starting to notice it! I’m slowly losing my original character and I’m turning into a pothead. Initially I thought it was cool to just drift away from all my problems. I got detained from my college because I didn’t pass enough subjects and I suddenly had a lot of time and nothing to do so smoked 24/7 always stoned!but now I realise i need to work on my problems and solve them instead of taking safe heaven in weed! I lost all my OG friends I’m drifting apart from my family and I’m setting a very bad example and reputation for my sister to live up to,Weed has made me gain 18 kgs in two months I was always a little fat but now I’m obese! I started to roam with some stoners and totally forgot having any purpose! I feel I’m such a weakling that I can’t even handle having a habit but I need to acknowledge my weakness I’m going to stop smoking anything forever
Man, it's hard to see the consequences in my case, as it hasn't effected my professional life or any of my relationships with friends and family, but I fear it will effect the health of my lungs, throat, and mouth, which makes the negatives a little less tangible. I'm currently 5 days cold turkey, dealing with some anxiety and a fuck ton of insomnia, but I'm hopeful for the future and determined to improve my health.
@Okana2upI used some Zzzquil for the first two or three nights to help quell the insomnia, but you might just have to be ready to have one or two sleepless nights, as well. When I realized I was still wired at 2 AM, I just binged one of my favorite games for the night, then the next night was much easier to sleep.
The main negative consequence for me is that it triggers pleasure seeking behaviour. I’m not blaming weed, it’s just that I’ve had a tendency to binge it and now when I smoke it I tend to spiral into other things like overeating, drinking, and internet misuse
Ive smoked for over 2 years now and I fully regret it. I was more or less following a straight edge lifestyle and that completely got me off-tracked to what I was accomplishing in my day to day. Left my job, moved around from a state to another bouncing back and forth. The withdrawals I have are unlike anything I have ever experienced. I'm not saying it's medicinal benefits aren't real, but the stuff out nowadays seems to either be tampered, engineered, hybridized and often go through inorganic methods of cultivation. Some seeds are synthetic ect. I would only use cannabis sparingly, from time to time. Maybe once or twice a year at most but ultimately from my own organic crop. Not buying these shady online seeds and all that. It has done nothing but disservice to me. A few good ideas gone wrong. I've tried to quit before and I could only go about a week and then again. I'm on day one again.... Only for today eh? Empower yourselves! Detoxify your mind and body for a while. See if you feel like going back.

I'm really trying to quit for this job coming up! I've been smoking constantly everyday since the age of 14 and i am now 22. It's honestly so tuff. All i think about is putting on a good movie and just taking a fat snap. I hope the next few weeks go by fast I'm already missing my girl 😭
Stop smoking in the mornings and for as much of the day you can. You don't HAVE to quit, cut down. Roll smaller joints, slowly size them downwards same for bowls. The longer you wait in a day to smoke the better. ^Just my personal experiences when it come to weed breaks

My addition to marijuana aggravated my depression and anxiety to where i could barley get through everyday without smoking. Use online forums where you can be anonymous if you don't know where to start, they're helpful because you can talk with people who share similar experiences which is supportive.
Ive quit weed after years of daily smoking and im currently on week 3, and it baffles me the differences ive seen, i have gained weight around and look so much healthier, my eating is returning to normal where i eat full meals at the correct times instead of not eating then stuffing my face with junk due to the munchies.. im not going to sugar coat anything and say its easy, i still have a notion for a joint and the high, its hard after smoking daily for so long, but the pros weigh out the cons by a mile, and i realised that i was smoking because it would numb all my emotions and suppress them and that wasnt healthy, forgetting something is there doesnt make it go away. Now that im not smoking im 10 times more determined to get my life back on track, where as before I would sit and wish the answers to my problems were going to just pop up out of nowhere, I understand this isnt the circumstances for every pot smoker but it did have a very negative impact on my life and still is, i hope anyone trying to get off weed can have the same luck as me.. all it takes is one person to believe in you when no one else would and if there isnt that then you have to believe in yourself
Thing dudes like this dont realize is that chunk of life that pot takes over MUST be filled with something each person finds just as interesting and engaging as weed which is VERY hard. You cant just trade pot for a new hobby it just doesnt work, especially if you still want pot in your life when you "quit"
I feel the exact same way. I don't have faintest idea on how to both quit and live contently sober. Which even saying that out loud makes me sad. I don't have a choice though my family needs me to quit but I just hate every second of it. Even after weeks of quitting in the past I still crave it

I developed my own method of HOW TO QUIT EASILY WITH MINIMUM ANXIETY and i was a VERY heavy smoker.. Im so proud of my method and i would love to share it with you guys: (feel free to skip to how i did it) I started smoking weed when i was 16, and i smoked for the next 10 years so i was in a point where i couldn't see my life without it and i was convinced that i would smoke for my whole life to be honest.. Smoking was the center of all my hobbies and friendships. I used to play pc games and watch youtube videos while being high all day. Then one day my girlfriend, who never liked the fact that i smoked but always respected it, got honest with me after 2 years of relationship and told me how she felt about it and how much anxiety that produced on her.. And even though she told me that she wouldn't leave me because of that, I love her so much and i have always had the fear that weed could affect my job or love relationships since i started smoking, so that was the push i needed to take the step and quit, and you should find your motivation to do it too, that's the MOST important step. After a lot of research on the internet without finding an easy method of quitting i decided to make my own method using some of the knowledge i got from all the other methods i saw and i have been clean for 2 months now and feeling better than ever. I would love to help you guys and answer any question you have. Please let me know if it worked for you :) THIS IS HOW I DID IT: -Step one: Get a vape Seriously, a vape helps SO MUCH. I would say is mandatory for the success of this method, and you will need it for a long time after (i still use it nowdays). Weed doesnt cause as much physical addiction, its mainly psychological, you need to blow some vapor/smoke every once in a while when doing the same activities you used to do when you smoke weed and hold something with your hand, and that does the job incredibly well. If the vape is powerful then is even better cause the feeling in the lungs can be pretty similar to weed if you take a big hit. I recommend the "nunchaku" from Uwell. its also a DAMN good vape and its cheap for a vape of its category. E-liquids with a cool effect and mint help a lot too with that hit feeling, i highly recommend those. Step Two: Avoid smoking during day time This is the hardest step, if you archive that, you have 70% of the job done, trust me. Keep yourself entertained during the day and vape like there is no tomorrow if you need to. Dont worry, you will be able to have your joint before going to sleep, thinking about it will help you calm down. But the golden rule is that you can only have ONE. The later you have it, the better. Then, go to sleep before the effects go down too much or you might want to have another one.. that will give you anxiety and what we want is to slowly reduce the consumption taking advantage of that "first joint of the day" effect. The first one of the day always hits you harder, its always more powerful. Specially after a whole day without smoking. Step three: Slowly reduce the size of the "good night joint" After a few days of avoiding smoking during the day, you will realize that after two thirds or half joint, you are already very high. Take advantage of that and start making the joints smaller every day, avoid geting super high, have just enough to be able to take away your anxiety and sleep properly. I dont care how long this step takes you. TAKE YOUR TIME, everybody is different and the goal of this method is to reduce anxiety to the maximum because that makes you want to smoke more, but its very important that you try to make them the same size every day or smaller, you should never make it bigger than yesterday. You can reduce it as slowly as you want as long as you never take steps back, only steps forward, just don't forget that you want to quit and stay strong on that decision. Don't take way too long or you could loose motivation. You will see how your body slowly adapts and you always get the same amount of "high". not smoking during day time will slowly get easier as the days pass and your body will get less and less resistant to THC every day without breaking a sweat or getting super anxious.Just remember to go to sleep quick enough before the effect goes away. Step four: Find "The day" After a month or two, maybe less maybe more, if you are truly committed to quit you should be smoking mini joints that only last 4-5 hits right before going to bed. If you can make them smaller then better. You should now start going to sleep only half high. I know its hard bro.. But remember all the positive things that quitting will bring to your life and how you will spend all the money you saved and will keep saving by not wasting it on weed, its like a salary raise!. And try to find the right day to quit smoking once and for all. You should be off from work the day after, if you can have a week off or a holiday that's definetelly the best time to do it cause you reduce the stress as much as possible and it will be very hard to sleep for the next days. Have your sleeping pills ready and you should be fine. Step five: Try to stay positive and detox your body During the first month you will be in a bad mood, Your brain is adapting to live without the stimulus of THC and that will create the oposite effect of the high that will last for a long time. That is completely normal, just try to stay positive, keep yourself entertained as much as possible and keep vaping a lot, if you smoke cigarettes use an e-liquid with nicotine, that will help with the anxiety too. It will only last for about a month, i promise. You are now an ex smoker and you should be very proud! Eat lots of vegetables, drink lots of water and do exercise if that's possible. That diet will help you with the mood, i saw it on a website and it helped me. The THC stays in the body fat and that will also help get rid of it, along with giving you a feeling of getting in control of your life and becoming a healthier person, which at the end, will help you stay positive . Junk food and fats will make you more irritable, so avoid them as much as you can while the brain adapts again. That should be easy because your appetite will decrease during that month. The most notable side effect will be insomnia. Sleeping pills will help you an awful lot during the first week or two, specially on the more stressing days. They will help you so much that it will feel like cheating!. Insomnia is the side effect that takes the longer to go away, it can take from 1 to 3 months to go away, but your mood will be better long before that happen, don't worry. I’m starting to realize maybe I’m a better person as a pothead. My whole family pops Xanax like they’re skittles but judge my narcotic....🙄. There are more positives than negatives when it comes to marijuana, that’s why many smokers don’t see a point in not smoking especially if they are functioning addicts like me!
Vincent you really shouldn't compare yourself to other people. Just because other people are doing worse things doesn't mean you can't improve upon yourself. You're always going to be doing better than someone out there so imagine if we all had that attitude.
I’m conflicted. I love the way it makes me feel but I know that I need to stop. I have a wife and two kids ( 3 & 2 ). It sucks because I feel like I’m a better person when I’m high but I feel guilty at the same time. Today I’m starting my sobriety (trying) but damn it’s hard. People say weed isn’t addictive but that’s BS. I’m so bored and get so depressed when I try to quit. Anyone have advice ? I want to live like I used to before I started smoking, at the moment I feel like the only way to be happy is to stay smoking. Help me out. 😭

I also have been on nonstop 2 years smoking daily - thing, always been doing it illegally. My hardest times have been the recent 2 months and weed is just the most less shitty thing happening on my life without anymore opening that up, and i've been seeking for help but without any results. After seeing you commenting that you are going troubles in your life, only thing i can do is just to wish you the best man that comes to your way and keep thinking positive even if it's hard sometimes. I would suggest you to start doing something that makes you think outside box and keep your thoughts away from bad habits even for a while, everything starts from the bottom and you can only just get better from that position. Today was my last session- December 29 2019 3:29pm /new year new beginnings new opportunities it’s been fun smoking weed and chilling but time to call it quits. Update- so this was two months but I really couldn’t quit tbh I kept smoking and i recently caught CHS repeatedly vomiting it’s not fun anxiety levels through the roof shits not fun I’m 3 days clean rn since I went the ER I’m going to do a little test in 2 weeks time I’m gonna really limit the smoking and see if CHS symptoms start developing again or not 3-6 joints/blunts everyday really fucked me up all ima say is limit ur smoking once every how every many days you want no less then 2 days
I was doing so good, went Amsterdam for NYE and got hooked again and I was going Dam as a treat to give me a break but my rule was that I didn't smoke back home.. but here I am. Life on pause ATM, so shit. I know I can stop as I have done it before, but man it's hard!
I've used weed as a coping mechanism to deal with the depression and anxiety and most recently to help me eat. I've not had many consequences from smoking though, I've been pretty responsible. Other than now....i smoke and dont complete what i need to complete in the day. Im trying to break the habit of smoking shortly after waking up but it's becoming difficult.
Dependent, is the key word here. You need to deal with what ever the issue is that you depend on weed to help you with. No issues and you will have no issues.

I've come to realize in my spiritual journey now I see that MaryJane has been my"instant Zen". When stressed, it instantly took me to an F-this mindset. Helped me manage whatever was stressing me out. Mostly my mind was thinking too much. I learned to meditate and journal and I'm calmer, I can think, etc. I'm smoking still (less) but in a different way. I'm working on the next step and I'll ween myself off so my body can adjust. PS The smoke prevents oxygen from feeding the cells in our brain and our bodies. Similar to cigarettes, in that the "smoke" is preventing the life giving oxygen. (Oxygen is food for our brain and body cells) So we essentially choke our own cells. We have millions of cells that die and are reborn repeatedly daily. I'm cutting back. That's a start. Smoked 1/4 oz a week for 20 years. I've cut back to just having one in the morning and one at night. If I don't have my morning cone I end up in tears. I've been addicted for too long. I am cutting back as much as possible and I am gradually replacing my habit with healthier ones. I've accepted that I may never fully quit. But I would like to know who I really am as a person. I've developed over the years as a stoner. I can't change who I am now. But I can plan for a better future. I don't think quitting is the answer. That puts too much pressure on me. Even psychologist have a joint on there bday or new years. I just don't want to be obsessed with weed anymore. I'm having a mid life crisis. I'm getting too old to be ruled by my obsessions. Obsessions drive us crazy wether it be a cone or a beer or a burger or a partner or an enemy or a car or a pet. If you really love something and it's suddenly taken away it will cause mental problems. Spread your obsessions evenly. Don't just focus on weed. Maybe to stay sane you need at least 5 obsessions. Only having one definitely causes problems. (Facebook doesn't count)
I have anxiety attacks in public spaces unless I smoke a bowl before I go out. But when I stop smoking my anxiety is haywire. I find myself sitting in my truck a nervous wreck trying to go shopping or social events with family.
The only thing I miss about it was the hand activity involved. Snipping, rolling, filling the pipe etc. It's the finding alternative things to do with that time you used to spend handling it. I think that once you fill that void it should be smooth sailing.
I feel like the stereo types de value this so much and just because of how typical it is it just kinda feels embarrassing to even type this , but I’m 16 and I remember starting when I just hit 12,13 and how close minded it made me to the outside world , my spliff or my bong was what would be motivating me through the day especially at school from 7:00am to 4:00pm until I got permanently kicked out , then I started to smoke more , and gradually left joints for fat bongs as the highs a lot more intense but as I was saying I moved on to bongs , as I got more involved with bud I slowly just got more depressed , less motivated , and I still have this thought at the back of my head that everything except smoking bud is boring , you know , you enjoy eating but then your full, you watch a movie then your eyes and legs go weird from staying still for two long , theres multiple examples but with weed I could sit there and we’ll it’s funny because I thought I was opening my mind when really I’m just shutting it off more , it was this year when I realised I’m just becoming a typical degenerate because of some stupid Instagram weed account , said some shit like , “some of the best friendships start with a blunt “ and “true stoners know they can’t eat until they smoke” just made me realise it’s fucking stupid teens like myself at age 13 thinking it’s cool and different from everything else , I know this is all kinda squeezed in together but I’m guessing these are withdrawals I’m getting rn and all I can say is , weed is beautiful it really is , humanity ? Because of weed i fucked up my life 4 years back . I was locked down for 6 months. I've been smoking weed for 7 years when I realised I'm not doing better with my life. I'm super for 6 months now and I've achieved things I wouldn't think I could. Life is amazing if we live it as it is. Now it's time to quit smoking cigarettes.
I started smoking do to an accident I had for the pain but it really got me I feel lost don't know what to do at this point but I know that I need to stop and get cleaned so I can provide for my family but with this pain I don't know how IAM going to be able to work 😭
Hey guys really need your help and I’m terrified. I’m in college in San Diego and since Corona started In February I started to smoke on a daily basis because I was stuck at home with my roommates who also started to increase there consumption. Not going to lie that weed helped a lot during these times because I could not fly back home to my home country and see my family etc, but what happened is that I got a door to door sales internship for the summer in texas. It’s a very good job that I was lucky to get but it’s a tough job knocking on people’s door all day under 95 F and 80% humidity. I came to texas with a pen and 2 g in cartridges because I knew and wanted to decrease my consumption specially now that I have a job and can’t smoke throughout the day obviously. I arrived three days ago and I only hit the pen the night I arrived to help me fall asleep. Yesterday was the second day of the job and let me tell you that I have never suffered so much in my life. I had not taken a hit or had marijuana in my body for almost two days which was a big deal compared that I had been smoking everyday since February. I started to feel dizzy, light headed, super uncomfortable within myself, was soaked in sweat and the most horrible part was my heart racing. I thought I was going to die and have a heart attack in the middle of the neighborhood. At that moment I thought I was having a panic/anxiety attack because of the new job and since it was so hot out here in Texas etc idk. But the more I investigated I came to vídeos like this that explain to me that I’m having withdrawals side effects from decreasing my consumption . I am really hopeless of what to do guys. It’s the third day today and I find myself sweating inside the house, being anxious for no reason, can’t touch any food getting weak and just not in a healthy state of mind. I humbly ask for one of you guys help who have experience to what I’m saying. I haven had a hit of the pen since I arrived and apparently I did the “cold turkey” strategy without even knowing but unfortunately I’m having side affects and my biggest dilemma is that I have to work. I can’t just try to quit weed completely now and have to deal with anxiety, cold sweats etc in the middle of the job. I have to make money and I have to be real with myself that if it takes weeks or even months for you to start feeling like “normal” I wonder if perhaps I should try quitting completely later when I can deal with the withdrawal side effects, when the summer is over for example. I’m already decreasing a lot my consumption. One hit a night is nothing to what I was doing the last 3 months. I asked my boss to take the day off today and we don’t work tomorrow on Sundays. I told him that I was nervous and anxious and that the extreme heat was messing with me and that those two days would help me put myself together. But now I know that my problem has to be the weed. Guys, i m here in Texas by myself and I’m very worried 😞 Weed was a big part of my life in the last 3 months of my life and I knew I had to decrease my consumption at some point. But do you guys think I should still try to quit 100% cold turkey style or use my pen how I expected I was going to do. And then I won’t have to deal with the horrible withdraw of pot? I’m terrified and it’s a horrible time for me to have to pass through that. I hope at least one of you can share your thoughts and help me be happy and productive during these times
No need to be ashamed, become shameless. Take it in a way to work and learn more about yourself. It’s ok to take the time to relax and enjoy yourself with out it. I promise it gets better.
To me it's like a really bad habit of smoking...I know that my body wants it because I'm so use to it. Kind of like when ur use to eating at certain time... Your body is gonna get hungry for it. I'm still smoking currently but I think me and weed need a break.

i used to play games all day while being high too. Now that i quit smoking i hardly play games and i realized that being high is what made me want to play/waste time. That might mean that you want to be productive and you would be if it wasnt for the weed! Iwill copy paste my method for you and i hope it helps you :) Good luck my man I developed my own method of HOW TO QUIT EASILY WITH MINIMUM ANXIETY and i was a VERY heavy smoker.. Im so proud of my method and i would love to share it with you guys: (feel free to skip to how i did it) I started smoking weed when i was 16, and i smoked for the next 10 years so i was in a point where i couldn't see my life without it and i was convinced that i would smoke for my whole life to be honest.. Smoking was the center of all my hobbies and friendships. I used to play pc games and watch youtube videos while being high all day. Then one day my girlfriend, who never liked the fact that i smoked but always respected it, got honest with me after 2 years of relationship and told me how she felt about it and how much anxiety that produced on her.. And even though she told me that she wouldn't leave me because of that, I love her so much and i have always had the fear that weed could affect my job or love relationships since i started smoking, so that was the push i needed to take the step and quit, and you should find your motivation to do it too, that's the MOST important step. After a lot of research on the internet without finding an easy method of quitting i decided to make my own method using some of the knowledge i got from all the other methods i saw and i have been clean for 2 months now and feeling better than ever. I would love to help you guys and answer any question you have. Please let me know if it worked for you :) THIS IS HOW I DID IT: -Step one: Get a vape Seriously, a vape helps SO MUCH. I would say is mandatory for the success of this method, and you will need it for a long time after (i still use it nowdays). Weed doesnt cause as much physical addiction, its mainly psychological, you need to blow some vapor/smoke every once in a while when doing the same activities you used to do when you smoke weed and hold something with your hand, and that does the job incredibly well. If the vape is powerful then is even better cause the feeling in the lungs can be pretty similar to weed if you take a big hit. I recommend the "nunchaku" from Uwell. its also a DAMN good vape and its cheap for a vape of its category. E-liquids with a cool effect and mint help a lot too with that hit feeling, i highly recommend those. Step Two: Avoid smoking during day time This is the hardest step, if you archive that, you have 70% of the job done, trust me. Keep yourself entertained during the day and vape like there is no tomorrow if you need to. Dont worry, you will be able to have your joint before going to sleep, thinking about it will help you calm down. But the golden rule is that you can only have ONE. The later you have it, the better. Then, go to sleep before the effects go down too much or you might want to have another one.. that will give you anxiety and what we want is to slowly reduce the consumption taking advantage of that "first joint of the day" effect. The first one of the day always hits you harder, its always more powerful. Specially after a whole day without smoking. Step three: Slowly reduce the size of the "good night joint" After a few days of avoiding smoking during the day, you will realize that after two thirds or half joint, you are already very high. Take advantage of that and start making the joints smaller every day, avoid geting super high, have just enough to be able to take away your anxiety and sleep properly. I dont care how long this step takes you. TAKE YOUR TIME, everybody is different and the goal of this method is to reduce anxiety to the maximum because that makes you want to smoke more, but its very important that you try to make them the same size every day or smaller, you should never make it bigger than yesterday. You can reduce it as slowly as you want as long as you never take steps back, only steps forward, just don't forget that you want to quit and stay strong on that decision. Don't take way too long or you could loose motivation. You will see how your body slowly adapts and you always get the same amount of "high". not smoking during day time will slowly get easier as the days pass and your body will get less and less resistant to THC every day without breaking a sweat or getting super anxious.Just remember to go to sleep quick enough before the effect goes away. Step four: Find "The day" After a month or two, maybe less maybe more, if you are truly committed to quit you should be smoking mini joints that only last 4-5 hits right before going to bed. If you can make them smaller then better. You should now start going to sleep only half high. I know its hard bro.. But remember all the positive things that quitting will bring to your life and how you will spend all the money you saved and will keep saving by not wasting it on weed, its like a salary raise!. And try to find the right day to quit smoking once and for all. You should be off from work the day after, if you can have a week off or a holiday that's definetelly the best time to do it cause you reduce the stress as much as possible and it will be very hard to sleep for the next days. Have your sleeping pills ready and you should be fine. Step five: Try to stay positive and detox your body During the first month you will be in a bad mood, Your brain is adapting to live without the stimulus of THC and that will create the oposite effect of the high that will last for a long time. That is completely normal, just try to stay positive, keep yourself entertained as much as possible and keep vaping a lot, if you smoke cigarettes use an e-liquid with nicotine, that will help with the anxiety too. It will only last for about a month, i promise. You are now an ex smoker and you should be very proud! Eat lots of vegetables, drink lots of water and do exercise if that's possible. That diet will help you with the mood, i saw it on a website and it helped me. The THC stays in the body fat and that will also help get rid of it, along with giving you a feeling of getting in control of your life and becoming a healthier person, which at the end, will help you stay positive . Junk food and fats will make you more irritable, so avoid them as much as you can while the brain adapts again. That should be easy because your appetite will decrease during that month. The most notable side effect will be insomnia. Sleeping pills will help you an awful lot during the first week or two, specially on the more stressing days. They will help you so much that it will feel like cheating!. Insomnia is the side effect that takes the longer to go away, it can take from 1 to 3 months to go away, but your mood will be better long before that happen, don't worry. I have been writing this comment for so long and making it as short and easy to read as possible so i really hope it helps at least one of you guys. Let us know with a comment in that case, to help motivate other people too. as i said, that method worked like a charm on me and i would like to see if it helped any of you :)
Anything can be harmful if it is abused. If you use it in moderation, no it wont affect your life outside of legal repercussions for smoking it. For instance. I only smoke when I have the extra money to buy it. If I dont have the money for a bit, I can go as long as a week, to a month without smoking. Im not dependent on it, but by keeping my tolerance low, and only buying small amounts at a time (like a gram to an eighth) and only buying it when I can afford it comfortably, I rarely ever feel the urge for it.
I wanna quit for the only reason that i want to be a truck driver and in order for me to get the job i need to be get clean BUT OVER ALL WEED IN MY LIFE IS DOING MORE GOOD THAN HARM SO IS VERY HARD TO SACRIFICE THE WEED OVER A NEW JOB.....
Am I the only one that gets crushing anxiety when you smoke? Like I can’t stop thinking about terrible things at an increased speed. And if I smoke socially it’s so much worse. I overthink what I’m going to say and end up looking weird and quiet.

I only smoke weed when im off work, usually 2-3 per 'night' (between 6pm and 9:30pm) and I cant seem to quit this. I can function normally throughout the day but as soon as Im home I crave a joint. How do I stop this behavior?
Get a vape and vape instead, thats how i managed to enjoy all the things i used to do while smoking weed for the last 10 years without craving for weed after quiting 2 months ago

I have really bad depression and have smoked weed daily since age 15 I’m turning 31 next month on 4/20. Was sick a month back so took a few days off smoking weed when I smoke now even just a hit I become very paranoid and kinda like a freaking out. Even tho I have the Freakout I’m good for a few days then get the urge to smoke again.. u ever had that?? Any suggestions?

I started smoking weed almost everyday around 7 months ago, before I did it like once a day when my tolerance was low. 3 days ago I stopped smoking weed. I cant eat, I’m quick to anger, I never really experienced anxiety until yesterday. I’m having bad thoughts I can’t function and I feel like it’s getting worse. I’m trying so hard to stay away from weed and it’s so hard😪 I’m trying so hard.

I've struggled quiting for the past 4 years but today I finally quit weed ruined my relationship with good people it hinders your personality and takes away your drive and ambition it's not worth it in the long run so I've officially quit and I pray it stays that way
Truly for me my life’s no messed up like that I’ve only ever smoked weed and cigs But for the first year or something it’s amazing I still had all my inspirations and was a active guy but in 2~3 years in my fitness just went out the window ,I eventually couldn’t be bothered to go, but before it was exiting to train and lift weights I used to be amateur boxer And like when my mates call me out it’s not like if we got weed it’s fun but it’s like what we guna now that we got no weed if u get wat I mean And for me I don’t think it effects ur learning ability’s , unless u do it then try to work😂 So my advice to my 18 years old self would be only smoke one day a week as much as you wanted can anyone relate

I am 27 now, I have been smoking cigarettes since I was 14, and weed since I was 20. For the past 5 years, I don't think I have skipped more than 5 or maybe 7 days, rest of it, literally everyday I have smoked atleast once. In these 5 years, atleast a year of smoking thrice a day. Fucking hate myself for having peanuts for willpower. I'm just gonna follow this comment of mine to keep a track of my time without smoking. It's my FIRST DAY today I am on my pillow trying to sleep.

you should definitely stop. weed is not bad in fact its the safest thing you could do as a ""drug"" even tho i dont like to call it that. BUT you're 14 and the brain stops developing at age 25 or 26 idk but you should get all the good that comes from it before altering your brain with the substance :) good luck!
So i dont have any negative effects per say if anything it helps more than anything. My problem is society says it has negative effects. So to get a good paying job i have to stop doing the one thing that helps with depression and anxiety. So i have to appease whats best for everyone else and i just have to suffer. Just trying to figure out how to handle all that without taken the poison drs give us to actually od on. Starting to think thats what they want.
