I loved the moment when Peter says, there’s no such thing as a high stress situation - it’s our perception of that and our projecting that it’s high stress. That’s our story and we keep feeding it to hold on to it. There’s no such thing as a high stress situation, there’s just stuff that happens (Forrest Gump!) and how we respond. Light-bulbs, penny-drop, aha moment

@@perfectlypilates4582: 🐟 15. SUFFERING & HAPPINESS: To understand the nature of suffering, it is ABSOLUTELY imperative to first distinguish suffering from pain (and too, happiness from pleasure). There is a spectrum of pleasure and pain, with an extremely narrow neutral mid-point. Obviously, what constitutes a pleasurable or painful experience is dependent on an individual person's unique preferences. Not everybody likes the taste of chocolate. The feeling of pleasure/pain does NOT, ultimately, come from any external stimulus, believe it or not. It is located entirely in the mind and/or the intellect. That is the reason why highly-advanced spiritual adepts are able to renounce practically all pleasure-seeking activities, content with consuming simple foodstuffs and adequate sleep, and find continuous peace, happiness, and joy, within themselves (“ātmarāma” or “sva-sthaḥ”, in Sanskrit). Furthermore, the adjudication of whether a certain experience is either pleasurable or painful for a particular person can VARY according to circumstance. For example, one may have enjoyed consuming dairy products as a child, but as a vegetarian/vegan adult, find the taste of putrefied milk (cheese, yoghurt, butter, etc.) to be revolting. For one who is dying of starvation, the consumption of cactus leaves may seem to be rather pleasing to the senses, even though, in normal circumstances, it may be distasteful. There are THREE kinds of pleasure/pain: physical, emotional, and financial. For instance, consuming one’s favourite kind of fruit is physically pleasurable. Being hit by a falling coconut - physical pain. Falling in love is an example of psycho-emotional pleasure. Being angry at another - psychological pain. Winning a lottery is an example of financial pleasure. Being robbed - financial pain. There are three origins or CAUSES of pleasure/pain: one’s own body/mind (“adhyātma”, in Sanskrit) other persons/animals (“adhibhūta”, in Sanskrit), and material nature (“adhidaiva”, in Sanskrit). Some “suffer” pain from lack of money. Others “suffer” pain from an abundance of wealth. Some “suffer” pain from lack of food. Others “suffer” pain from an abundance of food. The quality of the “suffering” is different but the NATURE of the “suffering” is the same. OBVIOUSLY, in the previous paragraph, the term “suffer” is used in the stead of “experience”, because that is how the word is used in everyday parlance, in order to draw attention to the fact that pain can be due to an abundance of material opulence as well as a lack of material wealth. GENUINE suffering, on the other hand, is the result of mistaking oneself to be the author of one’s thoughts and actions, and other persons to be fully in control of their own thoughts and deeds. There are five forms (or symptoms) of suffering - all PSYCHOLOGICAL in nature: 1. Guilt/Shame 2. Blame/Bitterness 3. Pride/Arrogance 4. Worry/Anxiety 5. Regrets about the past and expectations for the future/Attachment to outcomes (i.e. being inattentive or negligent to the present moment) Suffering can be COMPLETELY transcended by understanding its source and consciously avoiding its manifestations. For example, as a child, your mother may have been particularly violent towards you. As clearly demonstrated in the chapter dealing with free-will, her violence was wholly due to her genetics and societal conditioning, neither of which were under her control. Blaming your mother for her actions leads to psychological anguish, which can only be cured by focusing on the sense of “I am”. In other words, by resorting to one’s essential nature (knowing one’s innermost being to be Pure Consciousness), one is emancipated from all sorrow. The initial feeling of anger towards your mother was a natural reaction to her violence, but the enduring resentment is existential misery. Any physical pain you may have experienced was just that - pain. That pain is not to be discounted, but it has probably faded-away into the distant past. The psychological distress or torment that you are currently experiencing is the ACTUAL suffering, and it can easily be negated by a proper attitude to life. When we contemplate painful past events (or possible future events) those thoughts occur, ostensively, in the present. It is simply not possible to experience the past or future - only the present moment and the thoughts and feelings of the present are experienced. Therefore, it is important to understand and acknowledge that suffering can only occur in the present and can be cured with mindful practices. It is beneficial to also consult a qualified psychotherapist on a regular basis, in order to slowly heal from such mental angst. When a man kicks his pet dog, the dog does NOT spend the remaining years of its life being angry or resentful towards its master. Dogs have very little concept of past, present and future, but live their lives from moment to moment. How unfortunate it is that lower animals are naturally more at peace with their circumstances than we highly-evolved human beings! Even if several of the more highly-evolved species of animals experience some of the five forms of psychological suffering, it does not seem to persist in the same way as it does for human beings. On a rather personal note, even before I fully grasped this teaching (and when I was a Theist), I sent the following message to my second ex-wife, which illustrates my understanding of her actions: “I want to assure you that I have absolutely no bitterness towards you WHATSOEVER for persecuting me. You are simply carrying-out the orders of your perverted, ignorant mind, and I pray that my Master forgives all your wicked thoughts and acts. My own heart is completely free of anger. I pity you and look forward to the day when you finally turn from sin.” When one fully imbibes the understanding that life is completely and utterly preordained, and that no living creature has individual free-will (see Chapter 11), one has no choice BUT to quit blaming, shaming, worrying, being prideful, and being attached to the results of his actions. Deep peace and happiness arises naturally as a consequence. Obviously, the understanding of the non-existence of personal freedom (as well as all the other concepts in this Holy Scripture) are also the result of destiny. The unfortunate fact is, even though unqualified peace is available to everyone, particularly in the current age (due to mass communication), very few human beings are destined for it. To put it very succinctly, true peace/happiness is simply the TRUE self. When the five forms of suffering come to an end (by liberation from the belief in individual agency), only unbroken peace of mind remains. It is completely independent of any temporal circumstances whatsoever. The common belief that happiness originates from sensory or psychological pleasures is an outright falsehood. One can eat only so much chocolate before the pleasure turns to pain. Even a man who fucks hundreds of beautiful women will eventually tire of his sexual conquests, and attempt to seek satisfaction by another means. “Pleasure” is often conflated with “happiness”, as are the terms “pain” and “suffering”. It ought to be noted that there is a rather blurry line between psycho-emotive pain and actual suffering, so any confusion is understandable. There are three kinds of PLEASURE, according to the three modes (“trī-guṇa”, in Sanskrit) described in Chapter 18: Pleasures in the Mode of PURITY (“sattva guṇa”, in Sanskrit) are those pleasures which seem to be difficult or hazardous in the beginning but turn-out to be sweet or enjoyable in the end. For example, studying medicine for almost a decade in university can be rather stressful and taxing, but once the student graduates and begins his career as a physician, he experiences the pleasure of being a healer to his community and earning a high-income. Pleasures in the Mode of PASSION (“rajas guṇa”, in Sanskrit) are those which are enjoyable in the beginning but turn to pain in the end. For instance, most everyone enjoys eating a slice of chocolate cake (or sweet tropical fruit, for those of us who are health-conscious) but the more of it one consumes, the more painful it will become, due to indigestion, bloating, and/or sugar-poisoning. Pleasures in the Mode of DARKNESS (“tamas guṇa”, in Sanskrit) are those which are toxic from beginning to end. For example, sleeping is a state of ignorance (of daily life) and from the time one falls asleep to the time one awakens, one is prone to being attacked by one's enemies. Over-sleeping results in lethargy. Cont...

"Nothing 'wrong' ever happened. Instead of resisting parts of your heritage, accept it, embrace it. Beacause you wouldn't be the beautiful person you are today if it wasn't for eveything thats happened. So to look over our shoulder with any sense of resentment, judement, or resistance, is in denial of the fact that it's actually exactly what was supposed to happen, and I wouldn't be who I am without it, so for that reason, we turn judement into gratitude." + "There is no such thing as a high stress environment or stressful situation, only the stress you bring to it" Probably the 2 most profound things I've ever had the pleasure to deeply understand. Thank you Kerwin & Peter.

I like him but "No such thing as a stressful situation"? That's just too simplified and untrue. Someone with a gun to their head or a knife to their throat or (as happened twice to a friend) landing gear that won't come down from their airplane is STRESSFUL. I could name a 100 things.
@glassbackdiy3949
@glassbackdiy3949 3 года назад
@@patriot20000 if you're an expert in unarmed combat a gun to the head/knife to throat is not stressful, it's an oppertunity to put your training into practice. I was a RN Clearace Diver, most people would think underwater bomb disposal is stressful, it's not, it's an oppertunity to put very good training into practice. I was finding confrontation very stressful, but it was only the stress I brought to it, with training and practice it's getting much easier to deal with. It's all about perspective, and the perspective you bring to a situation, change your perception and remove the stress. A lot of what Peter puts across is simplified, doesn't mean it's not true, if you think so it means you don't understand it deeply enough. Hope that helps.
@patriot20000
@patriot20000 3 года назад
@@glassbackdiy3949 Right, because such a great percentage of people are "expert in unarmed combat" of the average of 1,000,000 people who are assaulted in the US each year. I understand very well his simplistic philosophies. But, my yoga and meditation ain't gonna cut it when some gorilla has a knife to my throat. What an absurd response. But thanks anyway.
@glassbackdiy3949
@glassbackdiy3949 3 года назад
@@patriot20000 You don't have to be an expert in every situation, just expert at dealing with stess, the first step is to understand YOU create the stress within, in your own mind. We're talking about the stress, not the situation, the situation remains, the stress doesn't have to.

Wow. I have followed Kerwin for awhile and recently discovered Peter so it was a delight to see you guys talking together. I have alot in common with Kerwin as far as the bravado and needing to be in control, being scared to be wrong, being scared to start my business until I'm "ready and can do it right". I have a tattoo, Amor Fati, from reading Nietzsche and I thought it was something I lived by...the idea that we must accept whatever happened to us because it created who we are today and to resist history is to resist parts of ourself. However, unbeknownst to me I had framed it as, "it was wrong that I was abandoned but it's OK, I accept it." Rather than Peter's take of, there is no problem, and there is nothing wrong with you, and nothing that happened was ever wrong. Subtle distinctions are so valuable such as this. I hope this helps others as much as it helped myself. I am actually on a road to become eerily similar to Peter and coach athletes and high performers using spirituality, science, NLP, health, and sports psychology. SO important for me to work on being in that place of peace and surrender to allow this to unfold. Idk if you'll see this but Thank you both from behind my eyes and the bottom of my heart.

Just found this video today…. Background story: I divorced my ex when my sons were 3 1/2 and 1 yr old. My sons are now 26 and 28. Last night my younger son was speaking about the heat in his body and he’s had so much rage… most of the time has clenched fists. In the past I would watch him in pain and immediately go into guilt ( which now in this day and moment I mostly know how to re-route mentally and talk myself thru the feeling right back into giving myself a hug ) Initially though, I felt responsible for his pain and abandonment issues … also have felt very helpless at times in knowing how to meet him where he is etc. This has been an especially hard past 5 years working thru this. I experienced feeling crippled myself, because I had so many regrets and I didn’t know how to help him. It amazed me that as I stopped focusing on his issues and helping him and started seeing this is my issue that I needed to work thru and started working on ways to love and most importantly forgiving myself for choosing what felt right tor me and my sons at the time. I began seeing all the players in the “story” as my strongest sacred messengers etc… and he miraculously (😂) has been increasingly feeling better as well. I love that this video popped into my awareness because you can’t imagine the additional relief/validation I feel inside myself. It’s a blessing things happened the way they did and we are grateful today for our two decades of continuing in love and gratitude for life…. Because we are still learning and growing… evolving and are much more compassionate and full of love as a result. So thank you for “going there” … because you connected so many dots for me, the “heat” and “friction” and my son and I have relief and we are happier in this moment because of your vulnerability. It’s amazing that you cast a spell 3 years ago by posting this video and there’s an eternal ripple of well being and internal peace as a result. Much love and gratitude 🙏 ❤thank you, thank you, thank you!

So beautiful to see your work shared with such love for your fellow human man. Thank you both for a fantastic interview that went so much more into a genuine session of release & healing for Kerwin. Peter’s messages and clarity on how we are all ok is beyond profound. I’ll be watching this again, learning more about Peters work, book and film & thanking my dear friend in Georgia today for sending me this great blessing of an interview & introduction to Peter Crone & kerwin Rae. Bless you all☀️

Wow. I’ve listened to this 2 times in the car. Always wondering what health issue you ask about. Watching Peter Crone interviews and then your interview popped up and I saw your eyes.. and damn. Cried again with your epiphany! And wow. The healing is amazing. I’m so happy for you. What a great interview. I will listen to it in the car many more times. Love it !! 💜💜💜

1:01:25 hit me in the solar plexus. I've lived my ENTIRE LIFE trying to not become my parents who ultimately killed themselves. I couldn't see, think or feel anything without that filter and not surprisingly nothing feels real about my experience of "life". No wonder. Thank you both sincerely. This entire conversation rearranged thinking for me in necessary and profound ways.

Peter Crone is an incredible person and a gift to humanity and our generation! I have literally only discovered him this week, in England’s second National Covid-19 lockdown and I’ve binged in interviews and talks. Every single talk brings something different out and a new epiphany. Simple but pivotal shifts to change the paradigm. I’ve shared this video on my business SM pages as there’s so much valuable stuff in here but I LOVE two “men’s men” talking openly about feeling “wrong”, not enough and inadequate and how to go back to start and see it wasn’t wrong, we’re fine just as we are and drop the bravado and trying to control and be something that we’re not. Just be and realise everything is just as it’s supposed to be. Amazing. Thank you to Kerwin & Peter. I hope Kerwin’s eyes continue to heal, sure they have

Profound!!! What Peter is essentially saying at 1:19:19 and at 1:20:22 is that we are not our experiences, but we are the experiencers. We shouldn't identify ourselves with our experiences. We are not what we did, and we are certainly not what happened to us. This should form the basis for forgiving ourselves and others. Thank you so much Kevin for sharing this experience and showing us Peter, the mind architect, at work!!!

Hi Kerwin, Oh my god, this was just what my soul was looking for , when we surround ourselves with soul humans like Peter, Dr Demartini, and other teachers my soul feels like I have found some awesome teachers. If there is any way , I could bath in this emotion and to be around more people like you let me know . My souls physical journey has been slowly telling me through my life that I need to really listen to the awaking voice inside to more and more and to feel the emotions of love ,freedom and knowledge. Is there contacts in the Gold coast area were I can make this more of daily routine for my life. Thank you for helping me with the emotion of feeling worthy and free to come to the fore front of my energy. Love Rob

Great to know that men can be high sensitive too, and vulnerable. Thank you so much for sharing. A big blessing and a lot of respect. Am high sensitive myself. I was told to accept this as a gift, not as a curse. Listening to this podcast simply empowers me to be grateful for who I am and that definately includes my high sensitivity. Blessings from Belgium and a very big hug 🙏🌟❤️

Wow.. Peter is on the money, very insightful. There is nothing wrong and nothing needs to be solved.. It nearly bought tears to my eyes when he asked Kirwan.. When your parents split u when u were young was it wrong.. No, it happened and it couldn't have happened any other way. Nothing is wrong Nothing needs to be solved. The freedom that comes with that.. Surrendering into the knowing of this is where the magic is.. Or as he says the judgement u hold inside of u when u hold on.. Decades of suffering.. No thanks.. Il take freedom any day.. Good work Kirwan.. You finally found u
