How to store Stellar Lumens with a Ledger Nano S

Hi Gary. Thx for the video. I followed your instructions but I believe it is missing a crucial step. At 4:39 you say "So let's click on the "Sign in with Ledger button". That's exactly what I did. However, I believe that before doing that, I should have clicked on the "Generate" button which generates "key pair for new account". By skipping that step, I never got to see or copy both my private key and public key. I realize you didn't want to do it so that you didn't show your keys however, I think you could just mention that it has to be done. My problem now is that it shows me my public key and is asking me to send Lumens to it to fund and activate it. Since I don't know my private key to this account, I want to cancel it, or at least have Ledger forget or de-link from this account. However, I don't know how to do this. I tried removing/trashing/uninstalling the Stellar account on my Ledger and then re-installing it. But when I do this, return to the Stellar Viewer, click on "Generate" to get new public and private keys, then hit Login, the same initial public key shows up and not the newly generated one. Do you know how I can cancel/unlink the existing Stellar XLM account from Ledger so that I can then Generate a new private & public key? Thanks for any help.

Gary great videos. JUST want to ask some advice, if a new ICO is issued, they accept payment via etherium/lumens does it matter which one u opt for? As both these cryptos have differing prices one is nearly $633 per 1 etheirum and stellar is .38 cents approx.? How would i get best value for my money if i were to invest 10k into ICO? Or it doesn't matter since the tokens given out after ICO will remain the same qty no matter which one i use to purchase the ico.I hope i haven't confused u with my questions.Im new to all this, would appreciate some help. For those who experience problems with sign in greyed out: Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> USB Input Device (you can see which one is the right one by plugging in your Ledger and entering the PIN) -> Update Drivers.

great video Gary, two questions, you said to click on "check" to follow transaction in blockchain, where is the check. Also my Binance account makes me verify my withdrawals with an additional layer of authentication, specifically it sends me an email that I need to confirm, I notice you did you have that step, is that step voluntary and if so how would I remove that, it is annoying. I am comfortable with the google authenticator as my 2FA. thanks

Hey Gary, most of the people that followed the steps in this video just lost everything (November 2019). Stella's new website disallows users from accessing their lumens - and the update doesn't work. Hopefully somebody addresses the issue. I've been in crypto for years - never lost holdings like this before. It's also impossible to contact Stella. Investment gone to zero.

This video is not up to date. When u go to settings, it does NOT offer an option to click on "Browser Support" and so the next option of selecting yes/no" for browser support does not show itself either. Instead you only have one option that says something about "hash". The ledger website does not have up to date instructions for this either. How user-unfriendly can they make this? Yet another you tube video claims that the grayed out "sign in w ledger" button will turn blue as soon as you select the "stellar" app, but that doesn't happen either. Yes my hardware and firmware are fully up to date. Meanwhile I've had my stellar on Binance for WAY too long while trying to figure this out. Can someone who knows how to do this please make a you tube video that is up to date?

Please Help; I have tried numerous times to "sign in with Ledger" however it does not seem to recognize anything. I have the up to date version 1.1.1 Stellar from the manager on my ledger nano S. I have the browsing settings to "yes". It won't let me sign in. Any ideas? I have restarted everything several times and deleted Stellar off the Ledger and back on. No luck. Thanks
