Man, this is wicked helpful. I’ve been wearing my father’s 1979 Goorin Bros hat for a decade, worried that I’ve been slowly destroying it, but the floppy brim is no more! You’ve helped me save a family heirloom. Big thanks.
@@s_gents I have a short brim hat 1⅝" ..the brim is evenly turned up all around. The brim is stiff felt with a "bead" on the edge, I would like to lower the upward brim slightly, I tried your method once and saw nothing like I wanted. Should I dampen the cloth some or spray water on the brim and iron over the brim as you explained. One thing more I used my bed mattress as a surface would a harder surface be what to use ?
Southern Gents I really thank you this video. You really taught me a new thing that had perplexed me for weeks. I'm very grateful to the brother in the video. What makes this special to me is that I learned this from a black brother. Peace.
This is everything!! I'm getting into hats & I needed to fix my hat. I love the simple & clear introductions. Your video, music & even the apron exudes classic man vibes.😍😍
Thank you for your purchase and we hope you love your new Fedora! 🤗❤️. Also kindly let us know what kind of content you’d like to see in the future!? 🥂
You fucken save our lives. Everyone knows how frustrating to see your hat get out of shape. Thanks for this simple tutorial and now I don't have to worry that my hat may get out of shape or something. Love from all the way to Auckland, NZ.
OMG thank you for this! I just received some Fedora hats for my Boutique and the brims are a little wonky. I will totally do this to make them up to our standards to sell! 😊
You are so welcome! It's certainly a trick we use before shipping out many of our fedoras. Transit is often not so kind to fedora crown and brims. Be sure to check out our other video on this topic, fixing completely crush hats. Cheers! 🍻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xhwZR5W_2nk.html
Thank you for the awesome feedback. Growing the channel and releasing more videos is a big goal of our for 2022. Let us know what videos you'd like to see next. Cheers!🍻
just got a felt fedora in the mail and the brim is a little tiny bit warped from shipping. Thank you for this video, my new hat is about to get sharpened like a blade
Question: How do I remove the belt around the crown and replace it with an interchangeable paisley color design piece of cloth, to match my suit accessories and still look sharp?
Hi there, Great question. Please watch our “How to fix a crushed hat” video to see how to put the snap back in. This video is for FLAT brim hats only. Cheer. 🍻
Hi there, This process is for straight brim wool hats only. For straw hats, they require a different process. Please see our 'How to fix a straw hat video' below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xhwZR5W_2nk.html
Hi Kal, Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, this hat straightening method is only for straight brim wool hats. For straw hats, please watch our "How to fix a crushed hat" video below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xhwZR5W_2nk.html
I'm guessing you could use the same thing you'd use for dress shirts. Starch. On amazon you can find starch spray for ironing. MAKE SURE you research first. I think it will work, but dont trust me :D
I'm thinking of getting two Geoffery fedoras in brown and in camel--can I assume those are the two colors in this video (I have a hard time judging website pics sometimes)?
Hi Mr. Shumway. Yes, the Camel Geoffrey Fedora is the one in this video. The other Fedora is our James Fedora. You may also view tagged customer pictures and review pictures on each product page on our website, to get a more accurate idea of what each hat looks like. 🍻
