Somehow owning a beard these days makes us more gay than without. We use all sorts of products, worry about smells and shapes, watch dudes shower, talk to other guys about their face
@@bfm2194 it is nice. The beard either helps like 10 times for sexiness or absolutely no chance, just depends on the lady. I prefer to have it as well, because when it's a turn on for a girl they LOVE it.
I hear you. And agree. I havent spent that much time in front of a mirror in my life. I have a beard that goes to the center of my chest. I tried brushing it once. Wasn't for me. Once a year. 6 months if possible. Go to a proper barber. I mean old school. Top dollar. And get the works. Not the ones that do 10 dollar haircuts. A proper straight razor barber. The kind that give you a beverage of s o me description when you walk in. Hot towel. The old wooden everything. That place. Just get it all. Not about how you look or any of that shit. All I'm saying is try it once. You owe it to your beard.
This method saved my beard, I was literally going to shave my beard off but decided to see if I could find some videos to help me tame the main. It worked I look great and I'm so glad I didn't shave.
I think your beard looks pretty good from the start. I’ve been trying for months to straighten mine but it’s wavy and never wants to be straight no matter how long I put the dryer to it
It's funny, I'm 55 and haven't touched a comb or brush to my hair in 40 years. A little stay in conditioner, rub my hand through it and I'm good for the day. I grow the beard for a couple of months and I've turned into a 14 year old girl! Videos, product, brushes, and I'm anticipating a very stern discussion with my long time barber. Beard on!
I'm amazed at all the haters posting. To each their own. This is his way of doing it. Doesn't make it right or wrong. Thanks for taking the time to post the video!
I don't know if you still come back to these older videos but I did have a question that I'm having trouble finding an answer to. Terminal length? Is that a thing I've had my beard for almost a year and fully straightened it's only about two and a half inches long off my chin. I try my best to take care of it and brush it etc but I can't seem to get any more growth. Suggestions?
Finally a no bull video. It's funny how complicated everyone makes a beard and buying products that no one fucking needs . Beard shampoo and conditioner. Seriously . My hair is. Orr important then my beard if I wash my hair with herbal essences then why not my beard . My beard hair is way more resilient.. all these sponsored people doing beard videos trying to sell their products makes me fucking mad . So thanks for your great and fun video
I use a salon grade shampoo AND conditioner (that's the secret) on my beard twice a week. Between shampoos, I use that conditioner on it every day when I shower. Every morning I wet my beard, apply beard oil first, then a beard conditioner. I use a sandalwood comb and boar's hair brush. This regimen has made my beard soft (comments from women, and they know!) and tangle free. For me, it's worth the expense of a higher quality shampoo and conditioner. No girly hair dryer or giant round brushes for me!
Enjoy the option of a more refined look. Maybe not every day for me, but date night or business occasion. All men should know how to clean up and dress.
The Maestros beard wash feels very different when I wash with that compared to any normal shampoo and conditioner. It seems to have a more oily feel and that helps it a lot, regular shampoo dries the hell out of it. I also only use any shampoo on my beard once every few days otherwise you strip to much oil and it just becomes unruly
That's the clue 'styling brush'. I've gone and bought the wrong sort then: small. Will buy another like your one. Definitely useful and thanks. Like yours, my tache is defo a work in progress and want it bigger. Both our beards are a good, medium to large size, just the tache now.
This was the most helpful video on straightening your beard that I can find. My beard has an area on the lower chin that keep curling to the right, no matter what I do. It drove me nuts, but first time following this steps and the hairs are straight! Hopefully they'll stay that way.
Just used this method and my beard is longer than I originally thought. Used bossman conditioner, their jelly, and balm. Scalpmaster brush and regular hair dryer. Beard is incredibly soft, and longer than normal. I have a wiry beard, which makes for a messy beard. Just shocked this worked so well.
I wouldn't recommend to apply hair product wash to your beard also . They dont have the same ingredients also the softeners .Its better to apply beard balm or beard oil before use the hair dryer. After all the procedure is the same as you did .
I've had luck with doing a cool air finisher with the blow dryer. I think the idea is that the heat straightens it and the cool air helps the hair stay straight (something about it having a "memory" and wanting to crinkle up again). Not sure if this is true but it helps my beard and over time it seems to keep straighter easier and for longer.
This was a very informative video. Cant wait to try this tomorrow morning! I have a pretty large brush. Not as big as that one. Well have to see how it goes! Thanks Scott!
I bought the bossman because of you and at first I didn't like the smell but after using all 3 of their products it was not bad,it came out super oily the jelly at the start and it coming to the UK probably didn't shake it enough, peace and thanks for video
My beard looks like an afro on my chin. I love it. I just come to these videos to gleam information that I may not already know. Afro beard for the win!
While this will work with a lot of people... some of us have skin that will not allow us to strip our natural oils from our hair, this creates extreme skin irrigation. Ive tried all of the recommended processes but the only one that i found that worked was never wash your beard with any kind of product this includes oils ect.. what was successful for me was plain water . Any other than this becomes a nightmare.
I recommend Carnauba Wax! What's good for the car is good for the beard. You can do both at the same time for efficiency... Thinking about my own beard, maybe cement would help?
"And that's how you do it Ladies and Gentlemen". I sure as hell hope Ladies don't need this tutorial. The other day I saw a LAYYY-DEEE with a goatee. I'm now convinced humanity is devolving.
If your hair is curly like mine just embrace it. All I do is conditioner or co wash 5-6 days then shampoo and conditioner on the 7th day and I put beard balm in after I dry off. I've never tried oil but I get compliments all the time on how good my beard looks. Been growing for over 2 years and once you get used to it you stop bothering to try straightening.
Thanks for this video man...I'm going to try this for the first time in a couple days...my beard isn't quite as long but starting to get out of hand...your technique should help!
Wow Scott, beautiful your beard more and more beautiful and your mustache too. Thank you for the video I laugh too much when you put in the shower. What a pretty cry. You are more and more beautiful :-)
Scott, thank you for this vid. My beard is fairly long with a large hooking curl at the end. Your brush and hairdryer technique worked amazing!!!! That thick brush is key. I gained another inch in length. Thanks again. Subscribed.
My beard is very similar in style to yours. I like to straighten mine as well, so thanks for the tips! I’ve been on the look out for a good styling round brush like the one use as well
Scott I am a new subscriber to your channel. Much appreciated information you have given 👍. I am in the beginning stages of growing my goatee to a very full thick style. I am a Man of Color so my hair is extremely curly and thin,so I appreciate the blow dryer for the straightening approach. Awesome 👌.
To straighten ur beard all u have to do is use a powerful hair dryer and a hair comb. U dont have to use a hair brush and u don't need to use hair products. All u have to do is apply some heat to the beard while u comb it downwards that's it!!
I definitely agree with the shampoo/conditioning thing, and with drying your beard (went to highschool with a guy who never dried his, damn it reeked. Water goes sour, guys -) but I'm pretty sure this guy is just incredibly lucky genetically. His beard looks thick and full, both when natural and when straightened. Anyway, I think straightening your beard is as much a stylistic choice as what type of beard you have; my dad has a Van Dyke and has never done any more styling than what it takes to shave - and that's his choice. It works for him. This guy, he wants to use product and he looks good, it works for him. It's just, certain face shapes look better with a straight beard and others look better with the fluffier beard. Same with beard shapes and haircuts. Also, people need to chill. Let the man do his thing. He's happy. Chill.
I use the herbal essence coconut conditioner as my co-wash , i also mix a very small amount of herbal essence coconut shampoo into my co-wash , about a 80% / 20% mix
I hope you’re not suggesting that we wash our beards everyday, because that is not good. Plus, never wash your beard with the same stuff you wash your hair with. No,no,no!
There's no need to spend a bunch of money on foofoo beard products - regular shampoo + conditioner works just fine as long as you follow up with a decent beard brush and oil/balm. I have a beard every bit as full as this gentleman's and have tried everything from fancy products to cheap ones, and it makes little difference in the end. Buy what you want, but our ancestors grew mighty beards just fine before any of this stuff even existed, so I wouldn't get too hung up on it. It's just hair, after all. 👍
I really don't see the point of having or using a hair dryer if you're a man and have short hair. The only exception for myself is if I use a styling product that I need to dry in my hair and if you are wet from the rain. I try not to use it on my beard though.
My pubic hair has bangs... my beard looks way to curly (if grown over 2-3cm if shorter it looks alright but still makes me want to let it grow but the curly hair does give me a less clean look)
Are you using hair products in your beard? Most of the hair products remove the oil in the beard thats important for a healthy beard 😊 its not that expensive for a beard shampoo. Only use a drop so it lasts long
Definitely dont wash your beard with the same shampoo and conditioner that you use for your head, thats gonna strip your beard of its natural oils and dry it out, you want to use something that is specially made for beards, getting something with all natural ingredients is best. I SAY AGAIN! DONT WASH YOUR BEARD WITH THE SAME STUFF YOU USE FOR YOUR HEAD!!!
My wife brought up a good point yesterday that men have growing beards for 1,000s of years...not once did they care about beard conditioning or shampoos for beards... They just washed it. Pretty simple.
@@dsx968 the damp beard helps thoroughly and evenly spread the balm When applying to a dry beard the balm doesn't spread through the beard as well. Most beard balms instruct you to apply to a damp beard. Almost like a leave-in conditioner.
Looks great. But personally I prefer mine more natural. Some good beard length and a good cut means you don’t have to really straighten it or use much product. Also he’s right, just use girls shampoo it’s just as good as beard shampoo.
Guys, its doesnt matter how one takes care of his beard. If you want it straight down then its a personal choice, alls I do is apply beard balm to my beard and I brush it down with a mini brush to even out my beard so it grows down but also has a natural fluff look to it. Thats my personal prefrence. Every man is different just like the thinking process of most of you on here apparently. Smh. Again, it just comes down to personal preference. Think before you speak. ALL HAIL THE BEARD GODS!! LOL
Easiest way to get a straight beard . Boil One cup of rice drain it let it sit for five minutes makes in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil 1 teaspoon of cornstarch blend very well massage into beard let sit for more than two hours preferably when you’re watching a movie at night wash your beard with cold water and then take a shower and wash with shampoo and conditioner combe straight go to bed ! Also will make your hair grow fast crazy fast !! Repeat Three nights a week .
You really should not use hair products on your beard. Your scalp is about 9 times thicker than the skin on your face (as far as I know). Also you have more hair on your scalp than your face. Please use beard wash and softener. P.s.: your beard looks nice though
I love your videos, and I am trying to put all your tips into action, but I just don't think my beard is long enough. Been growing for about 4 months but it's only about an inch, inch and half long.
