this athlete seems to have an unconventional pull - his elbows go back rather than up. is this an anatomical limitation? Is he such a good athlete he can get away with it?

Thank you! Any recommendations for someone who keeps injuring their lower back. I’ve injured my lower back 3 times in one year. 35 years old

You probably have poor control of your core, probably overextended lumbar. Check out the McGill Big 3. Also learning how to do hollow holds was very helpful for me but I still can't do them fully.

You may have hit the nail on the head with that diagnosis because it hurts when I lean back more than when I lean forward. I will check out your recommendation. Much appreciated. Thank you!

Ryan Yoshimura you might have to take a break from weightlifting or use a belt and try to not go to heavy on deadlifts and have some one help with form

You should go to a doctor or physiotherapist. Without proper testing you won’t be sure what’s going on and how to fix it anyway but it sounds like you’re doing something wrong and/or you’re stiff
