Everyone debates, in some form, most days. Sometimes we do it to persuade; other times to learn, discover a truth, or simply to express something about ourselves. We argue to defend ourselves, our work, and our loved ones from external threat. We do it to get our way, or just to get ahead. Two-time world debating champion Bo Seo joins us for a thrilling intellectual adventure into the art of debate - with practical lessons to improve your own life and work.
Bo Seo is a two-time world champion debater and a former coach of the Australian national debating team and the Harvard College Debating Union. One of the most recognized figures in the global debate community, he has won both the World Schools Debating Championship and the World Universities Debating Championship. Bo has written for The New York Times, the Atlantic, CNN, and many other publications. He is currently a juris doctor candidate at Harvard Law School.

1) every agreement should start with an agreement. 2) analyze and understand the pivot points. 3) there are 3 types, 1. Fact - x is y. 2. Judgement - a should be considered b 4) prescription - like conclusion.

1st thought. From the environment point of view, eating non "organic" meat is bad for the environment, however it is debatable if organic meat is bad for the environment.

There was a movie once of a father teaching his son to play chess. The sin said that Bobby Fisher could beat the father. The father went on to explain to him that he would only beat him if there was no time, that Bobby could perfectly plot out all the best moves. However, if they were playing on the clock, that the father would destroy him, because Bobby wouldn't have the time to plot out all of his perfect moves. I feel the same way about this style of debating. When you have all of these nice constraints, when reality isn't knocking at your door, when people can't interrupt you, you can get away with a whole bunch. But put a world class debater and a socio-political atmosphere at a pub, and they wouldn't last a minute.

Ever so sorry but the attack on the food chain over the past year demands I share some truth. If you will look, you will find people such as those with the most control over the past 2.5 years saying “then we’ll push the climate agenda”. Triton is said to be undergoing ‘climate change’ as well. Hmmm According to the Columbia Climate School’s research, other planets and chaos is the primary culprit in drastic temperature changes. Here however is my main point - industrial farming harms the environment. Only stressed cattle produce excessive amounts of methane. Add to that, many smaller, hands on, caring cattlemen, sheep and goat herders, etc., are harvesting the methane as one of the only truly renewable energy resources, using it to run generators or for cooking and water heating. When your eyes move to the sides of your head, you will have become able to maintain homeostasis without flesh.
