Your advices helped me a lot. I got 108 on the TOEFL. Yeay. Thank you very much for making this video. I used your tricks, templates. It really helped me a lot. Thank you very much.
Victoria Kpop Hii .... I would like to know one point that is when I finish my reading section does the test move to the listening section directly? Or it would ask me to prees on “start the listening section” or something like this?
Hey, I am studying for 2 months but still my readings are suck :( how could you achieve those scores? My english skill is also not bad I've graduated with %100 english. Is english your mother language? Thankss:)
Hello Marina! I'm pretty delighted with your TOEFL results! I can't believe how you managed to prepare for this test in 7 days and earn the biggest score! I really want you to share the secrets of success with me! Thanks for this video!
Hi Marina, I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU!!! Your tips helped me a lot when I was preparing for the TOEFL exam! I didn't take any classes and I just did practice exams. I had problems with Speaking and Reading, just like you, and I found your tips really useful! Especially the one that look through the speaking templates before test. I had a score of 114 :D Which was way above my expectations. Thanks :)
Patty Tsai im glad you did good without the help of formal classes. i dont plan to take any formal classes either. so please let me know what review materials you used?
Patty Tsai hiii ... I would like to know one point that is when I finish my reading section does the test move to the listening section directly? Or it would ask me to prees on “start the listening section” or something like this?
Hi Marina! How are you? I am from India; took the TOEFL last week, scored 113/120 with just 4 days of concentrated prep. I watched all of your toefl guide videos, and they were pretty much the primary source of my preparation. Your content is amazing, it explains the core requirements and the test-taking strategies to the point. I want to particularly mention the video with 10 speaking tricks: they seem pretty obvious but we usually do not realise the importance, non-native English speakers do not usually follow all the ten points in every day speaking, but they are immensely important. Your explanations are simple to understand, just like a friend teaching last-minute! So thank you so much for uploading these guides, it definitely helps thousands of test-takers around the globe. I would also recommend including the template structures; I had to refer to a trainer’s video series to better understand those. Please let me know if I can be of any help, as a recommender, or just a success story :) Have a good one! Cheers!
Hi! thank you so much for this useful tips, it really helped me a lot. I had 5 days to study and well... I got the score I needed! (more than expected) because of your amazing videos :D
Thanks so much Marina for your amazing videos, I did very little prep (only did each part one or twice) and scored 109 points! 29 Reading (was the most difficult for me, but maybe I succeeded because I actually tried very hard), 27 listening, 27 speaking (your amazing templates!!!) and 26 writing (which I found the easiest, very strange!).
OMG your English is perfect and very fluent and you said the speaking was the most difficult one for you that makes me think I’m screwed 😢 I wish I speak that fast and I’m that confident 🤭🙈
Hi Marina, I really wanted to thank you! Your videos were really helpful for me. I got 113 on the TOEFL, in around 3 weeks of preparation. It would not be possible without your videos. Good luck everyone in the future! Keep calm, you will do it. Practice the skills, and believe in yourself.
Hi Marina!!! I hope you're doing great!!! I am sorry for not letting you know about my TOEFL test before!!! Well.. I took it on Jan 07 and I got an 85!!! Most schools of music (I am a pianist) require 80 on the TOEFL, so it's a good score for me!! I took most of you advices on the video, just in case, but fortunately, there was no problem :) The test center worked perfectly. There was not much noise, just the regular noise... I got a 20/30 on the reading section, actually more than I thought I would get. It was really hard for me. And unfortunately I got a 13 on the Listening section. Both sections were really tough. Hard subjects with questions that were hard to understand and well.. It was not different with the Listening section. I would say that it was because of my skills... I still have to improve them a lot!! And something that happens to me while reading even in my own language is that I take longer to understand the texts. I have always been like that, so I know that has something to do with it. On the other hand, my listening skill is not very strong yet. I mostly understand general ideas but so many details. And I must say that the contents and the question from the Listening section were really difficult!!! I felt it that way!! Or perhaps it was just my perception and not the reality.. I don't know. And I also felt that the time past too fast. I never felt it that way during my practices!! I couldn't read the Speaking templates during the 10 min break. But I made sure to write all the templates from 1-6 on my sheets of paper before starting the test. So I had no problem with that. Actually, I was really surprised that I got a 26/30!!! I am so happy about it!! hahaha It feels like glory!! hahaah It was the part that I worked the most on. And for me, knowing exactly what to expect and having the templates was the key to succeed on that one. I got a 26 on the writing section as well!! Although, I would honestly say that I deseved more haha... but.. I guess I didn't get a higher sore because there were certain mistakes that I had no time to correct... I would give myself a 28 hahaha I don't know... But I'm happy about it..!!! Thanks for taking the time to help people through your videos!!! A big hug!! Ircia
Useful tips, Linguamarina, for my oncoming Toefl test, due by the end of this month of August 2019. I add two answering trends, observed in internet´s videos: 1) Choose the general over the particular when all answers look correct 2) Choose whatever is mentioned closer to the source, origin or starting point of any process, instead of what is a result or comes later.
I was watching this vid an hour before the deadline for sending my scores to university for free, and I realized that I had not done it yet so THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!
Just wanted to express my appreciation. This video empowered me to to try as hard as I can. Had 6 days to prepare and in the end I got a good result (105). English is my third language and I've been using it for almost 15 years now. In my opinion for an average learner the preparation duration should be around 2 to 3 months however for a proficient user 2 weeks of studying should provide sufficient time to prepare.
Hello! You have good advices i'm gonna use them. Thank you so much for this video. Acctually I pass my TOEFL IBT exam on 7/9/2019 so wish me good luck 😘💪✌ and I promise u I 'll share my results with u
Awesome, I'm 16 and I'll take TOEFL iBT in 6 weeks. I've already taken a simulation of TOEFL and I scored over 90. Your tips and advice will boost what my teachers teach me.
I don’t know if anyone needs to hear this but I feel it's right to say, so that no one else has to go through what happened to me. I took the TOEFL test a few days ago and it was one of the worst experiences I had to undergo. My screen froze during the writing section and I couldn’t scroll down to read the remaining passage during the integrated part. I called for the proctor for help and she IGNORED me for the better part of 50 minutes until the end of the entire test. The spectacle didn’t end there, as the proctor TALKED OUT LOUD on full volume when I had to listen to what I had to speak on during the speaking section. She continued talking through the speakers for more than a minute, during all the listening (even if she lied to the institution saying that she talked just to ask to lower the camera, that requires 3 seconds). I was so nervous and terrified as the sheer horror of speaking on something I could NOT hear. I had to compose myself and I did my best to speak as this joke of an “test” came to an end. This is incompetence and a scam. I immediately filed a complaint and sent them an email to open an investigation. It’s evident that “investigation” didn’t happen as ETS chose to not do their job like their LIAR of a proctor and simply took her word for it. My scores will stand and I was told I will not be allowed to retake the test for free. They chose NOT to review my RECORDED test. Choosing TOEFL was definitely one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. They’re morally bankrupt and shamelessly corrupt. Don’t let them mess with your future. I’ve said my piece, make of that what you will. And add that to all the complaints of other type you can find on this page (for example not receiving the scores in time).
I scored 105 and I hardly prepared for it-which doesn’t make me proud-, but I am 100% sure that the high score was thanks to you. I know english but getting to know the toefl is a different thing.
I feel much better I've been watching videos for a week and everyone was saying "start preparing your toefl momths before" and hadn't started preparing it Now it's in one day and I haven't prepared it a lot, wish me luck
Hi. Thank you so much for the video. It is helpful. I would like to know if you can share with us the templates you used for the speaking part. It will be very nice! Let me know, please. Thank youuu.
I'm impressed that you achieved 117 points, but it would have been even more helpful if you had stated your level before you took the exam. That would help me to estimate why you probably could have reached such a high amount, bc you'll rarely get this result when you had almost nothing to do with English for several years after being taught and suddenly you have to remember all these things again. :)
My toefl test is in 10 days, I am worried about speaking and writing part. Can you suggest tips different for the one's mentioned above? This is video was really helpful, thankyou.
If u go borrow a friends pdf about toefl or borrow a physical copy friend via mail (cuz the pandemic), most of the questions are not that hard but can't consider it to be easy as well. 3 hours is a long time and most people are confused that more time means more difficulty. This is not obviously the case, stop overthinking and just maybe understand the structure of the test you will be fine. If you have spoken and written english your whole life or at least a few good years, ur okay. But for those who just began studying, i suggest probably start studying toefl using books and get tips fron your friends or people on the internet who had done it. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
Do they allow you to take your templates and write them on a paper during the break, and then have that paper with you during the speaking part ? ( please answer fastly because I have my toefl tommorow) , and btw good video !
I imagine that after the break the will give you a paper so you can write and that´s when you can write the templates that you memorized before taking the test???? Help Please!!
Marina You were lucky to have time for templates and examiners let you in room 5 mints before in your break time here in Pakistan we don,t have such relaxation like using templates they did not allow us to write on rough work before exam start and also we were not allowed to set in break time to listen what other candidates are speaking about TOEFL administrators were very smart as they did not let us follow your tips to write templates and i was trying to get what independent speaking questions but they told me to take break and exactly after 10 mints they call me and started the speaking part.
Hey! girl! thank You so much for these videos, i love you accent and pronunciation, i'm presenting my toefl test next friday November fourth!! So i'm a littlebit bit axcious about it! cause i need to score High to get a job! So, Thanks gain!
Thanks for your video, energy and motivation. I am going to take my official TOEFL test in 3 months maybe and these tips help me to start my preparation, thanks!! We will see =)
WHAT TO DO IF I HAVE 5 DAYS LEFT AND I NEED TO SCORE ABOVE 100??? but like i can practice partly partly in the frist 3 days and then the last 2 days i am completely free for toefl?? please help me what to do? my biggest problem is in writing
+Fatima Shaat then I would suggest hiring a tutor to practice your writing straight away, it's really important to get feedback on your writing before the actual exam. Check out my tutor - linguatrip.com/skype
Hi Fatima Shaat , Excuse me if I interface in replies in this comment but do you have mind if we practice on Speaking English skills in our free time because I am preparing to take TOFEL so I'm seeking on someone who's Native English Speaker Or sound like Native English Speaker ( Prospective Person who's want to take Like This Exam at least ) So we help each other and to do well In the Exam and exchange our knowledge and Culture and have a lot fun as well, so if you or anyone else who have this quality and would like that you could reach me out here , please. so we could take our Media Contacts to communicate with each other. Best,
Thanks for the video and the tips. About the trick you recommend at (5:42), I think it is not allowed by the rules in ETS policies for the TOEFL to delay start of the speaking section: Using a break or delaying the start of the Speaking section to prepare your responses, or receiving assistance of any kind with your responses to the Speaking section questions
Hi Marina! I just want to say thank you for your tips! The one for to use wisely the break was the best for me! Helped me a lot!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Cheers!!!
Just for a clarification you need to choose 4 universities to send your score freely the day before an exam and no later than 10pm local time of exam place
I have 2 questions. 1. Do fumbling during speaking and taking some pauses reduce your scoring? 2. If an unexpected question comes. How should one prepare his response or think in 15 secs time? (other than templates) I really found this video to be very useful video and added to my knowledge. Thanks!
I already took this exam and I think all of your advice are awesome, in about 3 weeks I'm doing the test again, so I really hope that this time I could do ti better.
