Here are my tips on how to score more on TOEFL speaking part. I scored 30 out of 30:
Speaking tip #1: memorize templates for every question

Here are the essays that you would have to write on TOEFL exam:
Essay #1: combine arguments from a text with a speaker's opinion on every argument

These are the tips that I've used for passing TOEFL writing part. I scored 27 out of 30 for my essays:
Essay tip #1: exceed essay required word count by around 1/3
Essay tip #2: paragraphs should be similar in terms of number of words
Essay tip #3: avoid making mistakes and using words you're not sure how to spell

I did my Toefl today and the questions they asked me today in independent task of speaking section are 1. Your friend is so ill and he couldn't take notes for his exam. You have to help him to prepare for his exam at the same time you have to prepare for your own. How can you help your friend at this situation? 2. Some people thinks that teachers should admit their mistakes they made. Other believes that its not necessary for a teacher to admit their mistakes. Which one you prefer? Thank you All the best for your exam👍👍👍

Your tip to hang back during the break and use the free time to "steal" the first question in the speaking section was downright genius... I actually got lucky on the last passage in the listening section, so I used the remainder of the time in the listening section to get the first TWO questions on the speaking section, and as I hung back after the break, I got a whiff of the third question from an eager youngster seated next to me. So I basically spent the time after the break - where they show instructions - COMPLETELY scripting my 1st and 2nd questions! And I also outlined the 3rd question to a large extent, so a lot of time (and headache) saved! Thanks for the tip!!

@devilreincarnated
@devilreincarnated 7 лет назад
I'm talking about the time between the listening section and the writing section. I was lucky that I had time at the end of the listening section - since I finished most of the questions pretty early. So instead of rushing and simply submitting the section and moving on to my break, I stayed behind. And listened to my peers who had returned from their break to attempt the writing section. Obviously, it assumes that a. you weren't the first person in your centre to begin your test (and therefore couldn't be the first to finish the reading and listening sections) and b. your listening section was comfortably easy to attempt for you. Hope it helps. All the best with your TOEFL!

Thank you for posting your video and for sharing the strategies you used for getting such a high score on both the speaking and writing parts and an incredibly high overall score. I am guessing a few things about you as a language learner: 1) You have a knack or talent for learning languages. 2) You are willing to practice and are highly motivated to improve your language-use abilities. 3) You have an above average intelligence as is indicated by your high TOEFL and GMAT scores. Of course, not all language learners will be able to get the score you got. In fact, most native-speaking TOEFL preparation teachers with years of experience could not best your score. However, if TOEFLers follow your tips in this video, I can say, based on more than 22 years of TOEFL teaching experience, that they will most certainly improve their scores. I also like your suggestion of encouraging language learners to study English abroad, an opportunity that will give these learners much needed exposure to the English language. Keep up the good work! You are an inspiration to all TOEFLers.

118 out of 120, thanks a bunch. To be fair I was hoping for a 100/120 since it's what I needed to go on exchange, but I guess they were not as tough on the correction as I thought they would!

I expected the speaking part to be the worst, because I was really caught off guard with some questions, but the only parts I lost points were Listening (29) and Writing (29)

I did use prep programs in order to practice myself. On those simulated exams I scored consistently lower than my TOEFL official score. (usually around 101-110). So if you're using those prep softwares I would argue that you'll most probably score much higher on the actual TOEFL. For example, the writing part. Graded on a scale from 1 to 5 (each task), then multiplied by 3 to get a score on 30. On the prep software you either scored a 5, or a 4, (so ending up with either 30,27,24 and so on and so forth). But, on the toefl, considering I got 29 on writing, I assume they grade using decimals as well (like a 4.5/5), which might explain the discrepancy between the prep score and the TOEFL official score

Hi marina! I’m Luiza from Brazil! I would like to thank you for your tips on how to pass toefl! I had only 10 days to study and really needed a good score to validate my diploma in the US and needed a specific score on the speaking section (26 out of 30) I used you tips and even though I was really nervous I was able to get a total of 97 and 26 I needed on speaking! I’m so relived! Lol kisses from Brazil!

Hi ! Thank you for your tips marina, I am from Venezuela and only studied for 4 days after passing my GRE exam, I'm very happy I got the score of 111 (30R, 30L, 27S, 24W) and that's just because I'm a terrible writer also in Spanish. The tip of trying to hear people's responses on the speaking section is great :P, Your videos about TOEFL were my favorites. keep up the good work!

1) yes the essay in on the computer. 2) the first essay is "supposed" to be around 150 words, but I ended up writing over 350 and got 29/30 on the writing part. The second essay should be a minimum of 300 words. But don't worry, they will tell you how many words they want for each question
