Hey man. Just wanted to say thank you for the effort and insights you put out for us. Coming from a first generation medical student, this is what I rely on for advice because I have no one else to go to. Thank you 👊🏼
How to study for USMLE Step 1: 1. Aim to master the testable material. 2. Do lots of practice problems. 3. Learn what you have not mastered. 4. Review. 5. Repeat 2 - 5.
I hope I can pass USMLE I Don't haves a job,I am 36 years old all my dreams related to USMLE,if I can choose between my life and USMLE I would choose USMLE
I failed my USMLE exam 2 times first was 2020 second was 2021 and I lost money on review questions and also wasted a lot of time studying which never helped me .
Been watching your videos since before I applied to medical school. Theyve been very helpful--now im starting med school this week! Thanks for all your advice
i'm using Lecturio for basics of medicine and I'm very happy with it. I'm not a big fan of textbooks, cause I always study from lecture notes and other online resources so having an organized space, where I had everything for step 1 was definitely something I needed greatly. Highly recommend it to everyone else preparing for USMLE
man, this is what I needed to hear, I've been worrying way too much just to see that I need to ace the material first and then aim for testing myself on it. I'll do the step one this September and I've talked to so many people that have been studying for the step since day one in med school which, want it or not, makes me think that I can't achieve the score I need for what I want, but I guess the most noticeable advice you give in here is making yourself deaf to suggestions cause everybody since they know you'll be taking the exam are trying to tell you what to do.
YOU ROCK !!! A MILLION BLESSINGS ON YOU !!!Hey thanks for taking the time to do this video, more so because you did not have to, but you did. THANKS BRO!!
Peace be to you! I REALLY enjoy watching your videos. I find them very helpful. The High Yield books are quite good for my particular learning style (visual). I see this is a very old video. I hope you are doing well in your medical career! I wish you the VERY best of succes in your positive endeavors! Thanks again!🤓👨🏾⚕️
I'm currently a second year med student (6 year program) and I'm quite happy with Lecturio at this point. I used it during first year as well and it was definitely helpful for med school exams. For studying basics of medicine, I think that's the best resource. I can't say I only use it as a resource though. I also use sketchy micro a lot for bacteriology (so far) and First Aid for the review of modules that I'm going through.
I am a med student and hearing to you makes me feel like I really have someone to tell me the "right" thing. not the thing that should be "done"... love you :D
Hey, didi can you tell me what is the usmle first aid and usmle q bank please 🙏 It is my first year in medical collage I have no idea how to start preparation for USMLE and this man is speaking English very quick 😅😅 so would you help me please 🙏
Thank you for this! I'm 7 weeks away from my step 1 and a little more than halfway done with UWORLD but my scores are steady and Ive just been getting so much anxiety and becoming pretty overwhelmed. I'm an IMG and doing the steps back to back. I kept wondering if I should use more resources but you've calmed me down so I'll continue with my strategy. Thanks again and ignore the lame ass trolls. The scrubs are cute.
+Shagun Nasta You can always comment below one of my videos or send me an email at studentdoctorsunite@gmail.xom. I do suggest watching the video I made first though.
So, I hundred percent believe that studying for Step 1 has made me a better doctor. I have never studied a subject with such dedication (not even during my final med school exams) as when I studied for Step 1. Plus, the questions are integrated across all subjects and they have layers in them. For example, the prompt may start out talking about a infectious disease but once you identify the pathogen, the actual question will ask about a biochemical reaction or the mechanism of the DOC for the pathogen. Having this broad view is so important! I think it is much better than just memorizing information and regurgitating it. So yes, this exam makes you feel the patient is in front of you and you are the only one who can deal with her problem. :)
The big question here is: what is better? Do 40 random questions with all the subjects and review each question? or to first do just questions focused on those subjects that you're failing more at?
This professor gave very valuable suggestions. He told to stick with four things. (1). First Aid. (2). Q Bank. (3). Uworld. (4). Pathoma. I think these were his suggestions. If I am wrong I would like people to correct me.
Hi, where can I get a latest q Bank for USMILE step 1? And where can I get All the previous USMILE old questions for eg ×××× - 2020... please somebody help me, Thanks in advance Edit:- what's UWORLD
What do u suggest to someone whose basics are weak? Also how to retain the knowledge u learn from uw? Bcz as i move on i just forget the stuff learnt before. Kindly reply. I m v much confused.
I like watching your channel... can you please make a video on procedure of usmle for international students because I didn't understand it quite well... thanx
Sir, I am the student of MAMC, new Delhi, India. I'm passionate about usmle exam and want to pursue residency in medicine in US . Till date I know nothing about usmle i.e. what to do, how to prepare, what are the requirements of an Indian candidate, what do I require to surely get residency in US, is medicine is there or not, what are the eligibility criteria for cracking the exam, can give me full detail of things that I have to do. I would be very thankful.
Great video! Thanks. How do you think I should complete UWorld? Besides unused questions in test mode, should I answer mixed question blocks or just by organ systems (right side column) first and then mixed them up?
Hello, I'm from india and plan on taking the USMLE step1 in 6 months..that's dec 2016..I have heard that a majority of the American medical students/graduates use only FA+Pathoma+Uworld for their prep..I'm confused as to whether this will work for IMGs. And this video is really helpful. You seem so sorted!I was very scared as to how to prepare for this exam but your video makes it look achievable. Please let me know if u think ur method works for IMGs. Any advice is welcome! Thanks ,Docossareh!😊😊
You haven't mentioned anything about KAPLAN VIDEOS/NOTES , I'm from India, I thought kaplan is an essential resource for usmle, but most blogs or experience videos im watching, dont mention anything about kaplan?
hey please can u mention books for every subject :) my 2nd year just started . I am from an Indian medical school. I wish to take step1 at the beginning of 3rd year
hi! thank you very much for this info. Would you, please make a video for graduated doctors that graduated more than 4 years ago? what do you recommend. thanks
Thank you for your insight :D I am using UWorld+First Aid. How would you review the content you already went over?? For example if I missed a ? about emphysema on Uworld, I will use my First Aid book to look over it, but how would I go by reviewing this content days later so that I don't forget??
Is it very important to get the most recent edition of First Aid mid second year, or will the previous year's edition do? (just for the sake of saving time that would be spent transferring annotations or notes to a newer edition)
Do study with First AID, right away. Do Not try to study ahead, you will be lost and its not worth the effort. Do use any QBANK to review for your finals in each course by doing that sections questions. Do not work ahead in the qbank. Once you finish first year or have down time do all of the sections you've already done, again. then do the same thing second year. Then start Uworld +/- any other bank you haven't done + a review course of your choice + FIRST AID + a pathology resource (i didn't like pathoma, would do gouljian if i could redo it.) +/- Practice NBMEs (mine ended up being useless as they under predicted my score by 20- and i even cheated on some of the practice tests). FINALLY: If you start a resource decide early if your gonna ditch it or finish, and if you decide to finish it actually FINISH it. That's all, and everyone should agree that approach will work.
hello.i just wanted to ask that i have done my graduation 10 years back.may i take usmle step 1 now.what do u think is there any age or time restriction sor step 1 or step 2.
Hi....I study MBBS in China and our syllabus is quite different from that of the States....something like we finish Pathology and Pharmacology at the end of our 4th year in med school so I'm wondering how should I prepare for the usmle or any other board exam u know it's kinda difficult if you trying to do something away from your syllabus it seems like a double work and this my situation in making me confused I need some advice or suggestions please

Hey! I know all about that. I just finished my medical school in India. Head over to my channel to see the videos and comment if you still hsve questions. Otherwise please email me at: studentdoctorsunite@gmail.com
Hello. I have a question, I hope somebody can answer soon better than later :) Can somebody tell me PLEASE!!!! How is the structure of the exam? I mean, each block of question is about an specific topic or the eight block are scrambled with everything? Thank you very much...
+Orquidea Gato In general Step 1 is a one-day examination. You must complete testing within 8 hours. The testing day includes 308 multiple-choice items divided into 7 blocks of 44 items; 60 minutes are allotted for completion of each block of test items. There is a maximum of 7 hours of testing. There is also a minimum of 45 minutes of break time and a 15 minute optional tutorial. The amount of time available for breaks may be increased by finishing a block of test items or the optional tutorial before the allotted time expires.
+latisom Thank you for your answer. It was helpful. Probably I did not ask correctly. I have doubt with each block, my question is that: Is each block about one topic or is each block about all topics?
