How to successfully CONFRONT someone 

I am not of the Jewish faith, but listening to your wisdom and seeing the empathy you have for humanity always gives me comfort and insight. Thank you.

Learning to discipline in private is what the military taught. Not sure if I understood but I do now. I was used an example way too often in school and know humiliation well. It's hard to judge someone now without knowing there was more than likely some kind of abuse or neglect in their childhood that had a negative effect to their mental health. I listen to stories of peoples prison experiences and know these people are abused and/or neglected children stuck in adult bodies. The best solution to all of our problems is prevention. The only way to fix the abuse and neglect is make it safe for the abusers to come forward and tell someone they need help. The same can be said for addiction. The whole family needs to be involved. It takes a village to raise children and, unfortunately, our own programming of them versus us is keeping the wrong leaders in charge and our society being diseased. I appreciate everyone who is trying to make a change in this reality. Thank you for your time and effort. I've got some serious mental issues and know it's not my fault. It's hard learning to forgive yourself and others and know it's the lack of knowledge and the spiritual side of things. Nothing but love and respect

Yes, I am having a major problem being caught between my brother, mother, and stepfather. My step father is a coward of a so called man. He hates homosexuals and has a gay son. He later said mental issues were fake and now has a son who's so depressed he can barely move. Anyhow, God is good and will make this pathetic man suffer for mocking God. Shalom.

Thank you again for following the lead of the divine in deciding what to share. Early this morning I was contemplating the necessary awareness it takes to genuinely extend forgiveness, as a former Pentecostal Missionary I grew up with this idea of forgiveness equaling forgetting but I am beginning to understand that the forgetting (sometimes not even fully assessing the damage) doesn't communicate the grace of God as effectively as when I take the time to look at the entire situation that caused hurt. This more thorough assessment also offers me the opportunity to forgive myself for the blindspots, missteps, and heartache.

Thank you Rabbi, your wisdom is always a joy. I've been thinking lately of the generations, what it means to be a Baby Boomer, a Gen Ex, a Millennial. As a member of Gen Ex we (very broadly) experienced being born as our parent's draft deferral in the 60s or unplanned for children in the sexual revolution, we were commodities to be divided between divorcing parents in the 70s, we were caught up in "downsizing" in the 80s and we were called "Slackers" in the 90s. My experience with confrontation by my Baby Boomer elders has been that we are seen by them not as proteges but as competition. It has always profited them to react and project on us when disciplining. As they retire they will pass the torch over our heads to their own "true" proteges, the Millennials. I'm not whining or complaining, just considering things how they are. Whatever the generation we all have our thing in thick and thin. Stay forever young y'all.

I'm sorry but i can't hear a thing you said after SILENCE IS WORSE THAN RAPE! As someone who's been raped I am very sensitive to that spoken of! It's a long story but silence is not worse!
