I grew up in Phoenix and lived there until I was about 35. I also delivered newspapers (The Phoenix Gazatte) in the afternoon every day of the week. My tips: 1. Take a 2 liter bottle and fill it 3/4 and freeze it, then put it in your car in the morning and sip on it when it melts away, which it will do fast. 2. Always wear a hat and sunglasses and sunscreen. I never used sunscreen because it was the 1980's and no one did. Skin cancer is real and cataracts are real. 3. Keep your house at about 80 until about mid July to save money. Your body gets used to the higher temp after about 3-4 days. When the humidity comes in with the monsoon season, then lower the temp to get rid the humidity in the house. 4. Never ever drive through a running stream in the monsoons. We have these things called washes or arroyos and they are dry 99% of the time but when they run, they will take your car out. 5. plant desert trees on the south side of your house such as Jackaranda, Palo Verde or anything that will block the sun from reaching your roof. 6. invest in solar panels if you can. 7. live further out away from all the concrete to enjoy cooler night time weather.

This is great advice!! You definitely get used to living inside with higher temperatures! Love the solar and planting trees on the south side of the home too. Thank you for adding these

More rules: Oven mitts in the car for driving, and Ice water. You may actually find yourself pouring it on your head. :) Don't get into any fights over the one tree in the parking lot for shade! :) Pay attention to "excessive heat " warnings - no outside activity! Sedona is ruined due to so many new people ... go elsewhere. 🌵 🦎 🌞
