If you guys are interested in the plug and play harness for this swap reach out to Hector Prelude on facebook or on Instagram @tclmember. The cluster you will need to source online or at your local salvage yard.
Hell yea! Been doing my research on this topic for a couple weeks now and ran across this video! 4th gen has the best dash and this takes it to another level. So I'll be doing this to my 5th gen because I think they took a step back in the design.. thanks for the info on this!!
You crack me up for sure, seem like a pretty chill dude though and I have love for what you are doing with your 94 4th gen. I also have a clean 94 Vtec Lude, but it’s a BB1, literally one of the best cars Honda ever made. A prelude to what was coming as it were , NSX. 😉 Keep that good work going bruh! Classic Honda Prelude FTW! 🤙🏻😎
I have a 92 Prelude that I've owned since it was new I've had it painted and interior is okay but you guys are doing new things I've never seen before I'll never thought of. I really enjoyed seeing what the next generation is doing to with car.
Thanks a lot for the video, very helpful! Just a simple question. Can I skip the „molding“ rubber removal and just remove it still attached to the glass?
Of course its dope...... Wish i could afford fix mine up lol ive got a 94 prelude black i plan on buying one peice at a time over the next........ ( im never getting rid of her) ...love your videos great work man
@masonweisbrod7066 alot the wiring was done by my buddy but if I can recall ge pulled up the wiring schematic for both cars, prepped and tagged each wire with the color it belong to, we got a Speedohealer, a manual temp gauge and we did 3 days of tuning to get the timing down right.
In the owners manual it says to disconnect the battery and disable the SRS system. Is that really necessary? If the battery is disconnected the airbag can’t deploy right? I don’t want to tear my steering wheel apart and take my glove box off😂
Sick I wanted to do this a while back but thought it was not possible. I know I can get the harness made, but what about the fitment, you didnt touch on that to much. Does it fit like stock? Do you trim or do you need make something like a bezel to fit perfect? Can you elaborate a little in that please.
You wont need a bezel it kinda fits in there perfect. Only thing you'll need to do is make brackets to keep it in a perfect spot. Mi e is kinda just resting in there but its pretty snug
Hopefully your still checking these comments 😅 I'de love to do this swap on my 92 but did you need to cut the cluster at all? And did you need a mounting system or does the 4G bolts line up?
How to you get your dash lights to work. Mine stopped working only the red guage lights up. Idk but also how much is the harness I am considering doing this
Trey Be Dipping I need you on speed dial ASAP. Once I get a 4th Gen, I have big plans performance and cosmetic wise. I’m going cosmetic first cuz it’s cheaper and I want to be NA for a while. I want to install fiber optic ambient lighting to complement the dash but is wired to a shift light so when I hit red line, all of the Ambient lighting turns red. Adding a S2K cluster would be crazy. Also, ima take your idea for the headlights, taillights, and turn signals. And obviously you are a great person to talk to considering you have 1st hand experience with all this.
I took my 95 EL cluster apart. Corrosion on circuit board behind tach. I figure a resistor is busted leaking or something. You got to be a electronic wizzard to remove and install new circuit parts, also the plastic is very brittle. I can't fix it. I cleaned corrosion off some solder points and no change. The top wire connectors are a booger to remove. I hate this dash now. I owned a 3000GT, and 300ZX and those cars have a cover that pops off top of gauge cluster to remove. But I traced my problem to the tachometer/speedometer circuit board. The warning light cluster breaks easy. But this a Honda problem. I seen Civics, Accords, and Preludes with bad gauges.
@@pencintamivec498 you have to trim the plastic bezel piece up top or remove it but it pretty much fits in there and you'll have to custom make your own brackets
Trey Be Dipping Hector? The Hector?!? The guy thats running 3 Honda Civics with Spoon engines!! And stopped by Harry’s and ordered 3 T66 turbos, NOS, and a Motec system exhaust!?!?
@@treybedipping1734 is there a link to anything I would need for this swap? The tachometer on my current dash is dead so it would a perfect time to change it up
@@BrpdogProductions you will have to source a cluster from ebay or junkyard. And find hector prelude on facebook for the harness. Or look up the ktuned dash converter box and you can wire it yourself.
